Dean Lister Released By The UFC
Posted by on 01.05.2009
But there’s a twist….
One of the preliminary fights at UFC 92 featured Yushin Okami facing Dean Lister. It was widely speculated that the loser of that fight would be released from the company. Lister lost the fight, and now he has been let go from his UFC contract.
What's unique about the situation is the fact that Lister requested his release. The former Abu Dhabi champion is apparently looking to gain new employment in 2009 (despite the fact that he received $19,000 for the loss to Okami).
Lister competed in King Of The Cage and PRIDE before joining the UFC in 2006. His only losses in the octagon came against Okami and Nate Marquardt, while he was able to pick up wins over Alessio Sakara, Yuki Sasaki, Jordan Radev, and Jeremy Horn.
Early reports indicate that Lister will most likely be heading back to Japan, as he has named Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza and Jorge Santiago as opponents on his wish-list.
Dean Lister sucks so badly, all he does is fall down to the mat every fucking fight hoping that his opponent will engage into his guard because he can't strike worth a shit. Boring as fuck and horrible technique!

Rookie, that style seems to work out fantastic for Shinya Aoki. Check out his latest fight against Alvares to see just how obvious his strategy is.
Of course, Lister isn't as good as Aoki in BJJ.

Aoki is overrated as hell too. I want to smack his face everytime he comes on screen on HDNet Fights. He wants to fight BJ, which would spell quick retirement for Shinya after he gets his femur snapped through his ridiculous pants.
