Early Affliction 2 PPV Buy Estimates

How many bought the show?
Reports citing Affliction CEO Richard Schafer have estimated the Affliction: Day of Reckoning scored in the range of 150,000-200,000 buys. Affliction Vice President Tom Attencio would only say that the show did "50% better than our last event." If these numbers are accurate, it would make the PPV an exceptional success, as many estimated prior to the event that it would do less buys than their first event did, which pulled in about 100,000 buys.
On a comparative note, UFC President Dana White said the company expects UFC 94 to become their most bought event ever, coming in at 1.3 million buys. While there are no early estimates for that show available at the time, it will likely come out to be around five times greater than the number Affliction did just a week before.
Great news for Affliction (the biggest non UFC PPV) and also good news for the UFC. I fear though a lot of first time viewers could be turned off with UFC 94 because quite frankly it was pretty bloody boring. But good stuff all round.

This is a phenomenal win for Affliction as they managed to do this with absolutely no free TV shows to promote with. If they can secure a spot on national TV and run some regular shows to get some more exposure to the up and coming fighters in M-1 then that would go a long, long way towards providing a real competitor to the UFC.

Are you guys seriously expecting a company that has run two shows to compete on a level footing with a company that has run 94?

Dana laughed because it was a one shot deal.

LOL at the chumps laughing at Affliction for getting beat by UFC in the PPV ratings.
That is the equivalent of laughing at NFL for beating XFL.

And how much profit did UFC make? How much money did their advertisers make?
And how much money did Affliction lose? How long will their investors stand for this?
Same bankrupt time! Same bankrupt channel!

I had major problems finding a sports bar airring the affliction event in north carolina, even though every single place seems to show the UFC fights. Affliction has to get better market penetration. This show was 20 times better then the last UFC show from top to bottom.
