UFC Releases Eddie Sanchez, Derek Downey, and Christian Wellisch

The UFC is trimming it's roster......
The UFC has announced that they have released middleweight Derek Downey, heavyweight Eddie Sanchez, and light heavyweight Christian Wellisch. Downey made his UFC debut at UFC Fight Night 17 this past Saturday. He ended up losing to Nick Catone via submission in the second-round. Sanchez last fought at UFC Fights For The Troops in December and ended up dropping a decision loss to Justin McCully. Wellisch is also coming off a decision loss. He lost to Jake O'Brien at UFC 94 last month.
The UFC released Rich Clementi and Luigi Fioravanti yesterday and more releases are expected.
