Strikeforce News: Kimbo Slice Update, CBS Wants Nothing To Do With Shamrock, And Much More

Some Strikeforce news to start out your day.....
- Strikeforce continues to be extremely interested in Kimbo Slice. They have confirmed that if Slice is indeed added to any fight card, it will not be in the main event slot.
- Strikeforce is trying to finalize a deal with EliteXC welterweight champion Jake Shields to bring him into the company. The plan right now is to possibly add Shields to the April 11 show against either Joe Riggs or Jay Hieron.
- If Frank Shamrock defeats Nick Diaz on April 11, Shamrock will face Strikeforce middleweight champion Cung Le in September in San Jose. Both fighters have already agreed to the fight.
- CBS has mentioned that they have no interest in Ken Shamrock. They still blame Shamrock for the mess that was EliteXC's last CBS show and have no intentions on letting him back onto the network. If a Shamrock vs. Shamrock fight happens this year, it will have to be on PPV.
I really hope Shields signs with UFC since there are few names he could test himself in other orgs. I'd like to see him vs Diego, Fitch, Swick & GSP.

Shamrock has done a lot of controversial things that deserved to be criticized, but damn, fighters often get hurt during training. Shit happens.
EliteXC needs to be blamed for overhyping Slice and putting him in the main event, as his difficulty and subsequent win regarding the James 'The Colossus' Thompson fight was a clear warning sign of things to come.
I personally do not think Slice's loss was primarily to blame for EliteXC's failure, as Petruzelli's comments implying EliteXC fixing the fight were probably more damaging. In addition, Carano's lack of making weight, the premature stoppage to the first Lawler vs. Smith fight and Slice's questionable TKO of Thompson were also embarrassments.
