Karo Parisyan Meets With the NSAC
Posted by Larry Csonka on 02.18.2009

Karo Parisyan briefly met with the Nevada State Athletic Commission about his failed drug test after his UFC 94 bout, for the banned substances hydrocodone, hydromorphone and oxymorphone. Parisyan appeared briefly met with the commission, but due to time constraints and a full slate of things to cover, stated that they would not rule until next month on a possible punishment. Parisyan showed up to the meeting on his own.

Parisyan stated the following, regarding his possible punishment…

"I'm just going to tell them, 'Listen, I'm sorry,' I had a prescription for one pain pill; the other I didn't have a prescription for. I have a very high resistance to pain pills, and I took some. I'm sorry.

This is the only way I have to support my family. If I don't fight, I'm going to be homeless by the end of the year. I'm going to try to get married in August. If I don't fight and I get fined, my entire year -- everything I was supposed to do -- will just go down the toilet. Between my marriage and my house, I'll lose everything if you take my money away. So I beg God and I'm begging you guys, please don't do that to me.'"

While i feel for him, i doubt that crying about it would make a difference/

Boohoo Karo. Guess you better start working on a plan B. AKA flipping burgers at Burger King.

If it's your job and your family depends on it, then don't break the rules.

And oh yeah, stop being boring.

Sounds like you should have opened a savings account instead of spending all your money on drugs.

I used to really like you Karo. You know, when your fights were actually interesting. Now they're just card filler and you look gassed after two minutes of the first round.

Interesting. The last time I read about this, Karo had prescriptions for everything he'd taken. Now he had them for some and not for others. God only knows what the truth is.

Even if Karo does not get punished by the commission, I don't see UFC giving him much love after this.

Karo's made me ashamed to have called myself a fan of his before this. I think I'm crossing the line and no longer rooting for him.

Karo, you messed up, now you gotta pay the price. Be a man, take your lumps, don't expect special treatment. Oh, and stop being a pansy, it's very unbecoming.
