The Ultimate Fighter 9
Team US vs. Team UK
Episode 5
Previously: Team UK scored the first victory. Two fights tonight.
Opening Video
Bisping is happy that his team got the first win. Henderson tells his team that the UK team is here to win. On the way back to the house, Team US decides to be respectful towards Team UK and not be bitter about the loss. Cameron is not down with this plan. Damarques says Team US isn't really a team. The younger guys on Team US like to talk a lot and speak without thinking. Cameron talks about his sexual conquers that include screwing his best friends wife, hooking up with around 80 chicks, and forgetting names. Chuck Liddell wouldn't be impressed. Jason Dent wants no part of this immature talk. Jason Pierce likes hanging out with Team UK, mainly Dave Faulkner, because they're more mature and geeky.
At the fight announcement, Bisping picks Andre Winner (Team UK) vs. Santino Defranco (Team US). Bisping thinks Andre will be able to sprawl and brawl and KO Santino, Henderson thinks Santino can get inside and get the takedown.
At the Team UK training session, Andre shows off his takedown defense against Bisping and ends taking down Bisping. Everyone cheers. Santino tells the story about trying out for TUF2, making it, and then finding out he needed brain surgery. He got the surgery and now he's ready to compete. Henderson works with Santino on clinch takedowns.
Lightweight Fight: Andre Winner (Team UK) vs. Santino Defranco (Team US)
Recap: Andre showed a good sprawl early. Santino ended up pulling guard and used the rubber guard to control Andre. Andre was able to posture up and reign down heavy ground and pound until the ref finally stopped it.
Winner – Andre Winner, TKO, Round 1
Bisping is happy Team UK is 2-0, Andre is happy he got a stoppage victory. Santino says he was an idiot for pulling guard. Henderson believes they're 0-2 because they haven't stuck to the gameplan.
Jason Dent doesn't like the house because he's not social and would rather hang out with Team UK. Henderson has Team US running steps outside and then discusses potential match ups. He wants Jason Pierce to fight Dave Faulkner but Pierce thinks that's a bad match up for him. Henderson wants him to have confidence in himself. Cameron has no respect for Pierce. As they go to leave, Mark Miller leans over to spit and Cameron slaps his ass. Mark is not cool with this and wants to fight him. Damarques tells them to, "fight or shut the fuck up." Jason Dent tells Damarques to turn around and shut up. Henderson should shut all these fools up. Henderson tries to rally everyone but they all look at him with a blank stare or just look away.
Back at the house, Team UK bonds by playing soccer.
At the fight announcement, Henderson matches up Damarques Johnson (Team US) vs. Dean Amasinger (Team UK). Henderson picked this fight as he feels it's an easy Team US victory. Bisping thinks Damarques is the best US fighter but not to underestimate Dean.
Bisping, being the greatest coach ever, watched fights on youtube and tells Dean to look out for the triangle when in the guard of Damarques. The plan is to keep it standing. Henderson says Damarques is the top Welterweight in the house. Damarques steps into the Octagon and plays out the fight before praying.
Bisping hasn't arrived to the gym as Dean warms up for his fight. Dana doesn't even know where Bisping is. Dean is disappointed that Bisping didn't show.
Welterweight Fight: Damarques Johnson (Team US) vs. Dean Amasinger (Team UK)
Recap: Dean got the takedown and avoided a kimura but ended up getting locked in a triangle and tapping out.
Damarques is happy to get Team US off the ground. Henderson says Bisping didn't show because he knew Team UK was going to lose and he couldn't trash talk. Dean goes back to the locker room and lets his emotion out.
Next Week: The whereabouts of Bisping revealed, Team US still hates each other, two more fights.
Show Comments: Solid episode this week. It's really hard to root for Team US because all they do is bicker. I wish they had a coach like Matt Hughes who would, "give them the fucking come to Jesus speech." Both fights were good although short. Bisping not showing leaves some mystery going into next weeks episode.
It seems Bisping might have spent a wee bit 2 much time at the local Tittie bar....

UK 2 USA 1. I really wanted Damarques Johnson to get whooped because he's been very disrespectful to team UK and Bisping but credit where it's due he looked good in his fight but I don't see him making it past the Semi's. damn Bisping needs to be there for his fighters & Team US seem a little ...... to interested in arguing amongst themselves and insulting the Brit. fighters (which is a bit out of order IMO, do your talking inside the cage).
Still think there'll be 3 Brits out of the last 4 fighters

I love how Team US put out their strongest fighter to take out the UK's weakest just to get a win.
Here's hoping that Team UK resurfaces next week with 2 wins (since there are 2 fights, I would assume that neither of them get past round one again)
