411's The Ultimate Fighter: US vs. UK Report 5.27.09: Episode 9

The final first round elimination fight takes place and there's finally tension between coaches Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson leading to some of the best lines of the season.

Episode 9

Previously: Dana tells Jason Pierce that he's not allowed to fight, David gags on his mouth guard, Team UK is up 4-3 with one first round fight left.

Opening Video

Henderson tells his team that Pierce won't be able to fight and that they need an alternate. Frank or Mark are the choices. Dana talks to Mark, who has a broken nose. Mark says he wants to fight. Frank tells Dana that he wants to fight even though he doesn't have teeth. "Dan fights with no teeth all the time."

On the car ride back to the house, Santino asks Pierce why he hasn't allowed to fight. Pierce tells him that Dana wouldn't let him even though he wanted to. Santino doesn't seem to buy it. At the house, most of Team US bury Pierce for being scared to fight and say that he's not a real fighter. Frank says if he gets another opportunity to fight then that tells him that God wants him to win.

At the Team US training session, Henderson tells Frank that he's getting the fight. Dana says that Frank wanting to fight even though he has no teeth proved to him that he's a real fighter. Henderson wants Frank to sprawl and brawl but no be over aggressive on the feet. Frank's face hurts when Henderson touches him. That's not good.

Team US gets the early training session but has the option to switch with Team UK to the late training session. They decide to make the switch this week. Henderson breaks the news to Bisping and Bisping isn't having it. Bisping doesn't want to change training times this late in the game. "What do you want me to do, bend over and take it in the ass?" "Yeah." Bisping suggests the winner of the next fight gets the late training. Henderson doesn't think that's fair since Frank isn't 100%. Henderson didn't think it would be a big deal but, "Bisping was just a little bitch about it."

All of Team UK and Team US confront each other on the training time situation. Henderson tells Bisping that they have the option of switching, so he's invoking that option. Bisping still isn't having it. Damarques says they should do a battle royal Gangs of New York style. "I'd love to man. And I'm goin straight for you" says Bisping. Henderson says they should play tennis again.

They line up for the fight announcement and Bisping sprays water in the face of Damarques so Damarques throws his hat at Bisping. Bisping says he did that because Damarques made the "white as a band aid" comment during the tennis match. Team US tells Bisping that Cameron made the comment. Bisping quickly apologizes and says he was out of order. Bisping tries to apologize to Damarques but he's too upset right now. "Lets put it in perspective, it was a bottle of water. You know what I mean? It rains everyday in England." That's the best line I've ever heard on this show.

At the fight announcement, Bisping announces David Faulkner (Team UK) vs. Frank Lester (Team US). Bisping still wants the fight to determine the training schedule, Henderson doesn't accept.

At the Team UK training session, they arrive bright and early. He was overruled by the powers that be. David isn't worried about his skills, he's worried about his gag reflex. David wants to see a hypnotist to cure the problem.

David goes to the hypnotherapist and I can't even explain what happens next. The hypnotist does her hypnosis stuff and it looks straight out of a bad movie.

Frank is starting to have second doubts about the fight. Frank says if he can do this, he'll feel more like a man.

Welterweight Elimination Fight: David Faulkner (Team UK) vs. Frank Lester (Team US)

Recap: The first round was close as neither man did too much but David landed the bigger punches, did well in the clinch, and had good Octagon control. The second round saw Frank get the better of the exchanges and landing a lot of knees in the thai clinch. Both guys looked gassed after the second round. Dana announces that they're going to a third round. David doesn't want to get off the stool for the round. David quits despite the pleading from Bisping.

Official Decision: Frank Lester, TKO (Corner Stoppage), Round 2

Bisping gets upset at Team US chanting "USA" and storms back to the locker room. Bisping is disappointed that David didn't answer the call for the third round. David says he's going to pursue a horror movie or a pro wrestling career after the show.

Bisping talks to the four Team UK winners and says it was pathetic of David to quit. Bisping tells his fighters not to give up.

"I'm one step closer to that six figure contract. And I'm one step closer to being a bad ass" says Frank.

Next Week: Richie goes after Pierce, Dana wants teammates to fight each other, a slugfest of a fight.

Show Comments: The fight this week was rather dull for the most part but Bisping and Henderson were awesome. There's finally tension between the two and they both had great lines on tonight's episode. Next week promises to be one of the best fights ever so we'll see if they deliver.
