i thought the rumor was that kimbo got knocked out in the 1st round of a prelim fight and stormed off the show??
"-Lesnar gets in the face of Mir after the fight and says "talk all the shit you want now." The crowd boos and Lesnar flips them off."
mir jumped up and ran at lesnar, i wouldn't call brock the aggressor at all.. and the crowd boo's you when you win i'd say fuck them too

Wow.. the UFC is a joke in the Heavy division.. Look at all the WWE fucks that watch MMA part time. FEDOR would crush Brock Lesnar!!!!!
Posted By: Fuck Brock Lesnar (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 01:26 AM
Damn you 411mania and your annoyingass popups
That superman hammerfist-type shot that Henderson dropped on Bisping at the end was the best shot of the night. Bisping is gonna be sore for weeks.
Lesnar is a beast. So all you haters saying he has no talent- shut the fuck up. You're just disrespecting the people he's defeated. His size and strength are gifts. Hard to condemn him for taking advantage of them.
Aaaand I'm pretty sure that I heard Mike Goldberg swear for the first time, blatantly, during a UFC broadcast. After the Lesnar/Mir beatdown, Goldberg spoke for Lesnar saying something like - "...and I don't give a shit what you think."
Gold.
Posted By: JB (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 01:28 AM
Hendu knocking Bisping out was the most satisfied I have ever been watching an MMA fight.
I'm one of the few who hate GSP. But he is awesome. Wow. Domination.
Brock is a beast.
I saw the prelim results, my question is who bled like a stick pig???? The mat was stained all over the place.

"Wow.. the UFC is a joke in the Heavy division.. Look at all the WWE fucks that watch MMA part time. FEDOR would crush Brock Lesnar!!!!!"
I get so sick and tired of little bitches like you harping on the WWE thing, as if that's all he ever did. 5-time NCAA champion, he beat Randy Couture, and is now the UNDISPUTED Heavyweight champ. Get over yourself. And Fedor isn't coming to the UFC any time soon, so that's a joke in itself.

If the UFC is a joke-stop watching it-and stop crying because Mir lost. He was beat by the better man-something you MMA fans learned tonight-dont fuck with WWE boys.
Posted By: Guest#1425 (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 01:46 AM
Mir got beat to shit tonight. Glad to see Brock destroy that fool. Im thinking Brock/Carwin UFC 112?
Posted By: gfg (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 01:47 AM
I'm happy for Brock. Everyone is crying about what happened after the fight but dig it:
Everyone wants him to fail and has told him and talkd endlessly that he is a joke and fake and has no business in MMA.
Frank did nothing but talk shit on him for a year and a half.
Everyone who hates him is just lining his pockets and that is the goal. You all try to act like smart MMA fans but you all are falling for a basic WWE heel promo! What a bunch of marks!
He earned it in my opinion and there is no way anyone can say he didn't.
I think it's just hard for all of you to swallow because since he first said he was going to fight MMA everyone said "OMG Lesnar iz a fake wrestler lol IMO he will get wrecked WAR WHOEVER HE EVER FIGHTS EVER EVER EVAR!!!!" and now you all are having a hard time eating your words. Shoulda kept em sweet.
So just like Brock said after the fight...."Who is the fucking man?!"
Posted By: The Pain! (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 01:50 AM
Brock's post-fight tirade was worth the whole $44.95.

I agree 100%. I am not a Mir fan at all but brock is a joke. Everyone says be beat Rany. Well Randy was off over a year and is what 45 yrs old. Shane Carwin will KO brock, and he is far from beating Fedor.
Posted By: Guest#9600 (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 02:02 AM
Just imagine the crowd reaction when for the guy that beats brock for the title one day!
Posted By: Guest#3065 (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 02:10 AM
Wow, I thought Bisping was going to be out for a week after that forearm after he was out. I bet all you Americans are loving seeing Bisping get knocked out. I'm glad to see the old Hendo is back.
Lesnar fucking dominated life. He showed his BJJ has improved greatly. In the first fight he got caught with the most obvious knee bar ever, Brock had no idea Mir was obviously setting it up. This time he knew when Mir was going to do something, and what to do. Then he beat Mir's face like a pimp beats his hoe.
And GSP once again proves he is the most dominant fighter on the planet. Fedor doesn't count because he's not human.
And Kimbo is not winning TUF 10, Roy Nelson is.

"Look at all the WWE fucks that watch MMA part time. FEDOR would crush Brock Lesnar!!!!!"
Oh yeah, well our Super CENA would crush Brock & Fedor on the same night!
Shut the hell up. I watch WWE/TNA/RoH as well as UFC & whatever other MMA I can find, including the local jackoffs here that run events every other month.
Posted By: Byzdalmyt (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 02:27 AM
If the UFC's heavyweight division is a joke, then why does Pride's former #2 hw (Nog), look a lot like he's only #3 or #4 in ufc
Posted By: AdamS (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 02:35 AM
"Brock's post-fight tirade was worth the whole $44.95."
That's one great thing about living and working outside the US; some places we watch the shit for free. UFC live on cable network television. And even WWE PPV's are broadcast a week or so later on free television. Stop buying the shit guys and sooner or later they'll have to go back to giving shit away stateside.
Posted By: Guest#2740 (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 02:38 AM
I can't stand Lesnar. I respect him though.
I was just OH SO HAPPY to see Hendo destroy the career of Michael ???... I'm already drawing a blank
Let's be real here... No current Ultimate Fighter Guy will ever be "THE MAN" in the UFC and we will def. see it again in Philly next month. Anderson destroys Opie and B.J. makes a mockery of KenFlo with a Peruvian necktie.
Posted By: Guest#3431 (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 02:46 AM
I tip my cap to Lesnar for dominating Mir but have a little class.when has a champion ever flipped off the crowd, this isn't the WWE.That was a good promo he cut after the fight,Flair might think about sueing for copyright infringement for that WOOOOO. LOL Just act like a champion not a lil bitch. He kicked his ass I give him that.
Bisping got his too
Posted By: Guest (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 02:54 AM
everyone put your dicks away...there both 1 and 1 now, they still need the rubber match

How could Mir get up and run at Lesnar if he had to have help getting up? Mir got his ass kicked by a big ole country boy
Posted By: Guest#4589 (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 03:04 AM
LOL! Lesnar is actually playing a heel champion in MMA!
Posted By: JD (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 03:34 AM
I remain very much amused by the Brock hatred. Be honest guys, just because he spent a few years 'fake fighting' doesn't change the fact he was a world class amateur athlete, and looks to be in a size division of his own - and he keeps winning against 'real MMA' guys.
OK, so a 4-1 record isn't THAT impressive but wait until he loses to say I told you so, rather than continually looking for the next challenger with a kind of wild-eyed 'UFC > WWE makes my life mean something' desperation.
For the record, I like both, except one is sport and one is soap opera!
Fedor-Brock would be interesting, mind. Brock-Cena or Brock-HHH in an Octagon would be even better!
In other business...GSP is a legend, Henderson has a punch like an atom bomb, and I really with the UK could have a more likeable top level fighter than Bisping. What a prick...

Posted By: Fuck fuckbrocklesnar (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 03:59 AM
How many more of your "Hero's" does Brock have to beat.? Fedor would end up the same. In 5 fights Brock hasn't never been taken down, and never been really touched in the stand up. Forget about the WWE/WWF Brock is the real deal. People that hate on him are just mad cuz a wwf guy is now the top guy in the HW division. Also, if you think anyone is gonna beat Brock. Think again. He just beat three of the top 5 fighters in the HW division. No way Shane Carwin has a chance at Brock.
Posted By: SYC (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 04:27 AM
Lesnar, I will take from you what's rightfully mine. You will not escape from the Pedigree this time!
Posted By: HHH (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 05:22 AM
Am I the only one who thought the opening fight with Akiyama and Belcher was pure awesome? Fucker did a Superman punch OFF THE CAGE!
I think Bisping woke up and thought he was still coaching the Ultimate Fighter...was not expecting him to get knocked cold the fuck out. Amazing work Hendo.
GSP proved he is the best P4P fighter in the world by the fact he went TWO AND A HALF ROUNDS with a pulled groin...and STILL dominated. There were some Alves fans that popped during the 30 seconds he had control, and we just laughed.
And Brock...dear God, I thought he wasn't going to stop punching until Mir's face was implanted on his fist. Lesnar wins by MDK.
And fuck the MMA tards, that post-fight promo was AWESOME. You need a man everyone can hate cause the money is in the chase! Brock is gonna eat Carwin (although I think Kongo deserves a shot first).
Posted By: Ramsey (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 05:42 AM
Looks like I spoke to soon about Fedor...now Dana White is saying that he WILL be in the UFC to fight Brock; it's just a matter of time now. That would be awesome.
Posted By: mrw420 (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 06:07 AM
Part of Brock's antics after the fight were a little uncalled for. Mainly shitting on a MAJOR UFC Sponsor. But he was running on pure adrenaline and emotion.
He has already issued an apology at the post fight press conference and he knows what he can and can't do.
Now as for flipping off the booing fans and all that other shit.. That shit is fucking gold and all it does is sell tickets and PPVs. Sure the MMA purists would rather just see two great fighters fight it out and be completely respectful ala GSP/Alves.
But the casual fight fans love to see fights with a little story behind it and some hatred towards a fighter. This is why Floyd Mayweather Jr is such a draw and this will be why Brock Lesnar might be the biggest superstar in MMA in due time.
Brock could end up going 2-3 in his next 5 UFC fights but they will still be big monster draws. Just like how everyone is hyped on watching Kimbo on TUF 10 even after he lost to Seth Putrezelli. A little bit of controversy creates a ton of fucking cash.
Brock is worth his weight in diamonds and Dana White knows it. He now has a solid 5 million dollar gate fighter fighting 3 times every year.
Posted By: Matteo (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 06:10 AM
" No current Ultimate Fighter Guy will ever be "THE MAN"""
I beg to differ. Look at Diego Sanchez in his last fight on regular television that was MOTY quality shit.
I fucking love that Lesnar beat the shit outta Mir, I never really did like his retarded looking ass, plus seeing and listening to him constantly in the wec pisses me off even more. GSP is da man. Michael Bisping is a little bitch and got what he deserved... Also you cannot say Fedor would completely crush Brock because if the fight were to take place you know brock would study footage of fedor nonstop also his size and strength alone would test fedor if he could shoot for a takedown and hope not to get eaten by Fedor's defense I know Fedor would win the fight but not without being in a fight himself. I know fedor isn't a human but even Robots could make mistakes. Gotta give my respects to John Fitch as well..

Very good show, Akiyama looked good, disagree w/ the one judge who scored it 30-27 but I think the takedowns/ground control was enough for him to get the nod.
Rogan saying Beltcher got "robbed" was a BS call IMO.
Very disappointed with Bisping, he played right into Hendo's game (although I'm British & a big supporter of Bis. I've been a fan of Hendo since the 1st fight w/ Wanderlei in Pride) but that last punch was a bit out of order. Bisping was already out cold, this isn't a street-fight it's a sport and I thought it was a bit of a dirty shot from a normally honorable fighter.
I hope he beats Silva who I think is over-rated (he's top 10 but people who say he's P4P best are crazy) I've seen most of his career, he was pretty average in Pride (3-2), got DQ'd against Okami in Hawaii, didn't really beat any "top level" guys in Cage Rage (I was there live for all his fights).
He had a good couple of years in UFC but his last 2 fights have been about as exciting as watching paint dry.
GSP vs Alves went exactly as I predicted in the preview, GSP is just too well-rounded, the best fighter in UFC.
I was totally wrong with the Mir/Lesnar prediction but as impressive as Lesnar was someone needs to explain to the guy that this is a sport of respect and honor, until he learns that he'll never reach his full potential, 1-1 means we gotta have a rubber match somewhere down the road.
Overall I enjoyed show and I'm really looking forward to Randy vs Big Nog next month.
Great job by UFC all week leading up to the show, here's to 100 more !!
Posted By: Irish_Paul (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 08:07 AM
I'm hoping Henderson didn't know that Bisping was out cold and that the second shot wasn't purely to shut him up for good. That'd be a seriously poor reflection on Henderson and a disgraceful display of sportsmanship.
Brock is a monster. Sure, Fedor might beat him but it's retarded to dismiss Brock simply because he used to be a pro wrestler.

Where did you hear that happened?
Anyways, I think Mir was very humble in defeat so I am not going to bad mouth him. Lesnar didn't deserve to be booed like he was either. Sometimes the new ufc "fans" that dont know a fight is more than just standing and punching will boo. Lesnar had every right to flip them off and insult them.
Oh and "I may just get on top of my wife tonight" was the best thing Ive heard in ages. There may be less virgin fans in UFC than WWE, but I guarantee that not one of the slobs booing in the audience has been with a woman that looks like Sable (assuming the celebs in the audience weren't booing...).

Everything Brock did after the match was a heel act.
Don't believe me?
Then why, within the midst of all this bad blood, were Lesnar and Mir chatting it up and trading family/baby photos?
Guys, Lesnar is a natural heel, but don't go personally insulting the man. Hell, he's bringing mainstream interest to the UFC, along with the main man, GS fucking P.
Posted By: jay (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 08:34 AM
-I can't stand St. Pierre, sure he's skilled as all hell but his takedown/stall style is grueling to watch.
-Brisbane getting KTFO was tremendous, thought he was seriously hurt there for a minute.
- Lesnar is phenomenal, he's refined his technique enough that in combination with his freakish natural attributes he could be unbeatable given the lackluster HW division. The guy has a 1986 Mike Tyson vibe going for him at this point and is going to make Dana White all sorts of ridiculous money.

Everyone knew Mir was lucky to win the first fight and really Lesnar just owned him tonight there was going to be no repeat. I love the hatred for Lesnar its so amusing.

I love how MMA "Purists" don't respect Brock. It makes me want him to win even more. If you guys were really purists you'd respect his NCAA wrestling but you focus on the WWE side. Which he quit because he wanted COMPETITION. He's not like Angle who says he wants to do it but never does. He WANTS to do it and it shows. That's why I'm on his side, because he's committed to it.

Well said MJH. You said the exact same thing that i was going to say for every line you posted. i was hoping GSP would have gotten knocked out like Bisping did. Giggity!

I can't believe some of the shit that I'm reading here...Give the former amateur and Pro-Wrestler his due...He literally destroyed Mir....Lesnar is so good that he can not be beaten...period...All the trash talkin from Mir before the fight got him nowhere..He got pummeled..And what's this bullshit about fake fighting...get a fuching clue...Pro-Wrestling is both Sport and Entertainment...Give these guys there due...They earn it everytime they perform...Yes the outcome is scripted for the fans benefit so they get there money's worth and keep coming back for more...If you can't understand or appreciate the art form that is Pro-wrestling get fuckin educated and realize the ability these athlete's have to have to perform and compete...Yes compete to outperform your opponent...As far as Lesnar goes he is the best at what he does right now...HIS UFC BELT proves it....

I agree 100%. I am not a Mir fan at all but brock is a joke. Everyone says be beat Rany. Well Randy was off over a year and is what 45 yrs old. Shane Carwin will KO brock, and he is far from beating Fedor.

The MMA fanboy who can't stand the fact that the guy from the "fake stuff" dominates in the "real stuff." Lets run this down quickly....
Before the Herring fight...
Brock is too inexperienced, Herring will mess him up...
Before the Couture fight...
Herring was over the hill, he stands no chance against an all around polished fighter like Couture
After the Couture fight...
Well... Couture is just old and has been off for over a year, plus what did Brock do to deserve a title fight?
After this fight...
He's still a joke... He's can't beat Fedor.
If that fight happens, and if Brock wins... lets start a poll... what are the best odds for the excuses then from all of you "Smart" MMA fans. You guys are the only joke, not Brock.

I saw the pre-fight stuff where Mir was talking down to Brock - "I'm figuring out the counters of moves Brock doesn't even know the name of" and all that shit.
What an asshole, glad he got his face beaten to a pulp. If Brock's so terrible and inexperienced, how d'you explain how he pummelled the fuck out of you Mir? Dumb fuck!!
Posted By: dennett316 (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 10:13 AM
I tip my cap to Lesnar for dominating Mir but have a little class.when has a champion ever flipped off the crowd, this isn't the WWE.That was a good promo he cut after the fight,Flair might think about sueing for copyright infringement for that WOOOOO. LOL Just act like a champion not a lil bitch. He kicked his ass I give him that.
Bisping got his too

pretty sure NOBODY wants to see a rubber match...Mir controlled what about 10 seconds TOTAL between the 2 fights (only that knee submission that brock gave him)? What is going to be different in fight #3?

Lesnar beats Mir's face into blood and powder. Then he gets up, tells him off, flips off the crowd, says he will be drinking Coors Light because Bud Light won't pay him, and talks about nailing his wife on PPV. AWESOME!!!!!!
There is no one in the current UFC HW division that can stop him. Nog is the only guy that has a chance just due to the sheer amount of damage he can take and still grab an arm or a choke.
Also the sadist in me wants to see Lesnar vs. Tim Sylvia. Brock would rip the stupid mustache right off the face of that goofy looking bastard.
Posted By: Tank (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 11:16 AM
My friends and I were curious as to which prelim fight was a bloodbath as well, and speaking of prelims, we were all glad that "Filthy" Tom Lawlor beat CB Dolloway (and that's not spoiling anything, since they showed it during the main card and it won submission of the night).
Some thoughts from a room full of 7 28- and 29-year-olds:
-The most entertaining part of the Sexiyama/Belcher fight for us was Sexiyama's entrance, but that was quickly overshadowed by the ensuing guessing game as we tried to figure out what Belcher's tattoo was of. Some of the guesses - Kim Jong Il, Wayne Newton, Chubby Checker, and I guessed Johnny Cash, since Belcher and Cash were both from Arkansas. After a quick perusal of Wikipedia, we determined that it was, in fact, a very bad Johnny Cash tattoo, which led us to wonder if Belcher yelled "Cash, bitch!" when he did the cage-assisted Superman punch. Good fight though, enjoyed by all.
-I kept wondering where the Fitch/Thiago fight was when they put Hendo/Bisping second, and then GSP/Alves third, I figured for sure they'd put it between the two title fights like the WWE will do with a woman's title match, give the crowd (and fans at home) a chance to breathe.
-Nobody wanted to see Bisping win, and everyone was thoroughly pleased by the knockout and follow-up diving Superman foreman. We watched that about fifteen times before we went back to watching the show in real time.
-Nobody wanted Mir to win either, and everyone was pleased when Brock got him up against the fence and started snapping Mir's head back with those massive fists. A lot of talk during the pre-fight stuff was centered on how big exactly Brock's fists are.
-Brock's post-fight shenanigans and interview were well received, especially the "Hell, I might just climb on top of my wife tonight" line. Rena still looks pretty good for being in her 40's, so good for Brock.
-Which reminds me, Holly Madison was a pretty big hit amongst the guys I was with.
-The Fitch/Thiago fight, understandably, was kinda underwhelming after the emotion spent on the main event, but everyone was happy to see Fitch come out and get the job done.
Unfortunately, Fitch didn't look more impressive, so he'll probably have to cool his heels while Hendo fights the winner of Maia/Marquardt so that they can do Anderson Silva/GSP. While I'm excited about that fight, I'm not excited about putting two divisions on hold again, especially since GSP's only defended his title thrice now, and he hasn't finished anyone decisively other than BJ Penn. Sure he outclassed both Fitch and Alves, but the fact remains he couldn't put either one away.

Oh yes Henderson showed his true colours hitting someone who was ALREADY unconscious that hard in the head? Wow, I bet you feel so proud of yourself... congratulations for the win and all but you showed you were a lowlife piece of trash for a head shot like that on someone who was unable to defend themselves. And then you say afterwards that you intended to hit the unconscious guy too? Surely that could be classed as assualt...?

I figure that Dana will at some point tell Brock what is acceptable and what is not - after all, Dana himself wants to be the only heel in UFC.

Fedor is a joke. Let him keep on fighting washed up UFC guys overseas until he finally grows the balls to come get his ass kicked by Lesnar in the states.
Of course then you will all say its because he's old and how "in his prime" he was the best.
You Fedor guys sound like a bunch of brainwashed media monkeys.

Frank Mir = EPIC LOSER
Posted By: F5 (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 12:59 PM
Let's take a few things from this show...
Bisping got knocked the hell out and Hendo is still a beast
Lesnar beat Mir like he stole something. No excuses. The post fight interview was hilarious, especially the Coors Light comment.
GSP took a guy that everyone said was stronger and a much better striker and basically threw him around for 5 rounds. Alves stuffed maybe 2 takedowns the entire fight.
Posted By: Flying Dutchman (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 01:00 PM
For the record, I don't dismiss Brock Lesnar because he's a former "WWE guy", I dismiss him for the fact that he acts like he's a truly great fighter even though he's only had 5 fights.
I remember another UFC champion who was in Lesnar's shoes a few years ago, unfortunately Tito Ortiz learned the hard way.
But realistically, it isn't just his record. Every heavyweight champion will need to be questioned if they haven't fought Fedor, because in everyone's minds Fedor is THE guy to beat. Every UFC champion that has stepped up to fight him has lost.
Fedor is the best heavyweight fighter in the world, regardless of who Dana White, Brock Lesnar, and his UFC belt say it is.

Okay, as a major fan of Pro Wrestling and a casual MMA fan, I have to say that I am proud of Brock Lesnar for proving that just because wrestling is staged, it doesn't mean that the performers aren't tough. WWE workers are conditioned to take inhuman amounts of punishment and get beat up worse in a weeks worth of work than most MMA fighters do in a year. On top of that, Lesnar's collegiate record, as stated by the commentator's last night, was 105-6. That's 6 losses out of 111 matches! The guy knows how to grapple and how to fight and how to take a beating, just look at the knee he took from Mir that didn't even phase him! On top of that, the man knows how to work a crowd, and boy did he ever get that arena in the palm of his hand. Like it or not, Brock Lesnar has beaten two of the top fighters in the world, he has the MMA world watching his every move, and he is the Undisputed UFC Heavyweight Champion.

Posted By: Iceberg (Guest) on July 12, 2009 at 01:48 PM
Someone mentioned this earlier but it's true...
Before each fight it's "Lesnar doesn't stand a chance against so and so's great fighting..."
Then they lose and it's, "Oh well so and so wasn't really a good fighter Lesnar got lucky..."
Look if my favorite fighter/sports team loses it's because their opponent was better. No excuses.
If Fedor fights and loses to Lesnar will you admit Brock is better or will you start your response with, "Oh well Fedor was blah blah blah..."

1. The first match was decent, but I was concentrating more on beer.
2. So glad Henderson knocked out Bisping's ass. I hate that limey bastard. And to anyone whining about the late shot being unsportmanlike. How much sportsmanship did Bisping show through the Ultimate Fighter. I wish Henderson had gotten a few more shots in.
3. If GSP is so "unstoppable" why can't he put away a guy he obviously outclassed the entire fight. No striking, nothing impressive on the ground, just a bunch of takedowns.
4. Lesnar is a beast. I liked his antics. The MMA fans can't stand that a "fake" wrestler is this successful and have been against him from the beginning. And Dana is only pissed because Brock trash talked one of the sponsors, not for not showing sportsmanship. Sorry they can't all blow the sponsors white. I'm sure you'd had no problem with it if he'd have his Condom Depot truncks, Tap Out shirt, and Mickey's Malt Liquor hat on.

AMEN. I like WWE and UFC but this garbage about UFC being a sport of respect and honor needs to stop. I feel better about myself watching WWE. There is more respect and honor in trying not to hurt someone than in beating their face into a pulp.
How is a bloodsport filled with respect and honor? Silly comment by MMA apologists that just need some justification to hate Lesnar. He's the man.
He was the man in WWE bc he could pull classics out of the Big Show and other sucky wrestlers and hes the man now.
Deal with it UFC kids. Or stop watching because he ruined your sport. Either way...

By that train of thought though Herring should be getting another shot at Brock since Brock didnt put him away either right? Come on now, GSP dominated last night. Including the final 2 rounds with a pulled groin no less. "Finishing" a guy means nothing sometimes. If they get their ass handed to them for 5 rounds, they arent in the same class, end of story.

I like Lesnar as a fighter, I'm 34 years old and was a pro-wrestling fan before the UFC even existed so I understand that he's playing the heel. Both guys were trash talking before the fight to help promote it and I've got no problem with that. 2 recent examples are Penn/Sherk & Tito/Shamrock 3, when the fight ends and the better man wins the proper respect should be shown. Brock said himself that he doesn't respect anyone he fights and thats what I've got a BIG problem with.

Posted By: beerslayer (Guest) on July 15, 2009 at 01:29 PM
Ok, so we need to set the record straight. Let's keep UFC UFC and WWE WWE. Brock is not a WWE guy he is a UFC guy. Bobby Lashley is in MMA, not WWE. Is it a problem if a former football player, boxer, or hockey player goes into MMA. No. So this should not be an issue.
As far as Brock's post-fight comments: Although the Coors comment was funny, of course Dana was pissed. It is a business, not a sport. The NFL is a business, not a sport. MMA is the sport, football is the sport. I think that sometimes people forget this. However, I will say, would all of these media outlets have talked about the UFC this week to the extent they have if not for Brock's comments? If you hated Brock before, your still going to hate him. Guess what, people didn't like Barry Bonds or at the latter part of his career Mike Tyson, but they drew. Some of you people are funny in the fact that you want to see his ass get whooped so much that you will more than likely watch every time he fights. Listen if you are a fan of the product and not the people you root for great fights not fighters. In my mind, until you have a great fight, you can not be a great fighter. Just some thoughts from and for real fans of mixed martial arts.
Posted By: Atrain (Guest) on July 16, 2009 at 01:08 AM
I was on the fence about MMA but now I enjoy it. Brock did NOTHING to discourage me from watching again. To me it looked like Mir went over to him and started barking at him. He may have not known where he was but only Mir knows that for sure. Badmouthing the sponsor? That I won't excuse, that's very dangerous territory for a sport who has trouble getting sponsors. The flipping off I could've done without but I'm not outraged by it. The comments about his wife, I wouldn't say it even if I were famous but I'm not going to judge his character on that statement alone.
Mir was the asshole in all this, talking like Brock is nothing and demeaning him at every turn. He was the bully and the bully got his ass whipped.
I respect Brock's ability and if you're a real MMA "purist" then you do to. If you demean him by judging him by what he did so many years ago then you're not a purist. He was a 2 time NCAA champion and a 4 time All American. I see his passion for the sport and RESPECT him for it.
