Wow, no way Couture won that fight, not suprising though. The UFC would do anything to favour the old man so he can get title shot #2407....

HAHAHAHA Couture won
Posted By: Guest#2671 (Guest) on November 14, 2009 at 11:29 PM
Randy controlled the whole fight. Yes, he took a couple good shots, but overall he eeked that one out.
It was the right call.
Posted By: Guest#7636 (Guest) on November 14, 2009 at 11:36 PM
The main event literally could have gone either way, but I gave Couture the narrow decision.
Posted By: Guest#4867 (Guest) on November 14, 2009 at 11:41 PM
Good show except for the main event, that was a terrible fight with an even worse decision. I love Randy but a fight shouldn't be won by attempting to leg hump a man for 15min.
Posted By: gbh1978 (Registered) on November 14, 2009 at 11:42 PM
OH, SNAP!!! Remember the time when Swick vs. Kampman, was going to show who was going to set who would get the #1 contender, title shot agaisnt GSP?... 3 PPV later, and that's ancient MMA History!!!...
Posted By: Fear_Inc. (Guest) on November 14, 2009 at 11:51 PM
The only round I gave Vera was the second Randy beat him in 1st and 3rd. Typical Vera sloppiness like his fights against Sylvia and Jardine he gets some good shots in but... then gets controlled and loses anyone see a pattern? Oh and the beating from Hendo did Bisping some good.
Posted By: Paul (Guest) on November 15, 2009 at 12:32 AM
In no way could vera of won. Randy dominated the fight away from the body kick and one takedown he did nothing with.
Posted By: Guest#4075 (Guest) on November 15, 2009 at 12:36 AM
I like taking into account damage inflicted during the course of a fight. After all that is one of the points of fighting. Couture showed lots of control, but he was just hanging on. Last time I checked controlling a fight was no the point, taking in damage inflicted Vera wins easily
Posted By: SStrout (Guest) on November 15, 2009 at 12:58 AM
Would anyone consider Dennis Kang a tough opponent for Bisping? I honestly don't know very much about Dennis Kang and am just wondering if Michael got better since Henderson or just had an easy opponent.

People... No Fucking way that this match was going to be won by Vera if it was going to the judges score card’s… Think about it… if Couture would have lost, that would have been his 3rd. lost in a row… this is match #2 of his 6 fight deal… A 3rd lost, and according to Dana’s self help guide book “how to manage Fighters went losing a lot”, article #2, states “If you just loss you’re third straight match in a fucking row, you get Ship Can, from the UFC roster”… He’s not going to put Randy in that predicament… lose Randy to another promotion... so that Strike force can do “Couture vs. Fedor” on CBS, on national TV… for free! With the controversy of UFC 104 + the problems that UFC 106 & 108 are showing… Plus almost on the verge of losing “Hendo”… So Dana, being Dana when to his other self help guide book “how to manage that main event draws don’t go anywhere else” article #2, states “Randy Wins no matter what. Or else, you are all fucking fired”… with that said, Dana will keep his promise “If the possibility of Couture vs. Fedor ever happening, It will only happen in the UFC” (Period)

I'm not even a Couture fan and I thought he won the fight. He took the 1st and 3rd IMO and the 2nd was pretty close, but would give it to Vera. Hardly a blatantly bad decision. Outside of the couple body kicks, Vera did nothing and was hit solidly a few times. Also, congrats to Dan Hardy. He's a tough guy, and almost has me believing he can do some damage against GSP.

kang was a legitamite threat to bisping but has always been a lil overated in my eyes. besides ninja cant think of many super big talents hes beat.

BISPING! KTFO! WAR BISPING!
Henderson can go away with his lucky punch, Bisping is on his way for revenge. Murdered Kang...JUST MURDERED HIM...WARRRR BISPING THE LEGEND IS BACK TO HIS BEST!

Good night for the British fighters, with Pearson and Winner proving their mettle, Wilks putting in a good showing against tough opposition, Bisping (who I don't like) showing he IS worth headline status by taking out a top 10 middleweight in entertaining fashion.
Best of all, Dan Hardy comes from NOWHERE to beat the much fancied Mike Swick (who I like a lot) in one of the funnest matches I've seen in a long time.
GSP will eat Hardy for breakfast, but in taking out Swick, Hardy has shown himself to be a solid top 5 welterweight. Well done Dan.
Couture beats Vera by narrow decision - Couture needs the win, no harm to Brandon. Give Couture a match against the winner of Cane-Nog now...
KO of the Night: Andrew Winner
Fight of the Night: Hardy vs. Swick

I went to this event, and it was all pretty great except the main event, Randy Couture's Greco-Roman Cage-Holding tactics really sucked the life out of a crowd that absolutely LOVED the Bisping finish and the Hardy win, and even GSP's cameo.
Captain America came and bored everyone to a dodgy decision. He probably DID deserve it on control, but geez, that was a hideous fight to watch, sooooo boring, and I don't think anyone's ever lost a fight taking LESS damage. Hurt your opponent next time, Randy, don't just smother them for 15 minutes.
Posted By: Jon (Guest) on November 15, 2009 at 05:11 AM
so GSP did enter the cage after saying he wont...what a douchebag.
Posted By: Guest#6454 (Guest) on November 15, 2009 at 05:41 AM
Couture winning was right...he controled the fight for all rounds...maybe Vera did more damage but Randy was more active. Once again Vera choked...flashes of briliance doesn't win fights....definetely not championships. After the fight he was really surprised he lost, and he apparantely thought he had the fight of his life.Did I watch the same fight Brandon? His delusions doesn't get better when Rogan again is so freaking biased you would think they are lovers....wtf Joe...act like a profesional for once. Vera got beaten by a soon to be 50 year old man...where does his career go from here??He already fought Jardine. Catch weight fight with Franklin perhaps...
Posted By: Krajton (Guest) on November 15, 2009 at 05:51 AM
Using current MMA judging criteria, sure maybe Couture won if more weight is given to octagon control than damage inflicted. I just saw one guy do absolutely nothing but lean on the other, while said other took him down, got mount, beat him with big body kicks and successfully defended every takedown attempt.
This fight made me realize two things. Couture is boring and MMA judging sucks.
Posted By: Diavo (Guest) on November 15, 2009 at 06:55 AM
Guys! pinning a guy to a cage in a freakin clinch like he's going to rape him is not fighting, it's bullshit
How can we give props for a guy whose method of fighting causes ref stoppage every minute
no way Couture would've won if this fight was man to man, but this was a freaking homo to man
Posted By: Guest#9907 (Guest) on November 15, 2009 at 07:54 AM
Matt Brown is a beast, he gave that wilkes chump a beating and i said as soon as wilkes fought a good american fighter he would loose

I was under the impression Swick/Hardy was for a guaranteed title shot. After Hardy won, Rogan was very careful to throw out lots of "possibly"s and "maybes." Hoping for a Swicktory there Dana?

Well in MMA scoring control and damage are equal footing on the judges scorecard so control is important. I had Couture winnign round 1 easy, losing round 2, and then narrowly winning round 3 due to prolonged control of the round and damage done,as you could see vera was in serious trouble a few times that round.
Posted By: Guest#2362 (Guest) on November 15, 2009 at 10:08 AM
I think the main event was a draw. I think vera won round 2 10-8. He dropped couture and hurt him bad in the second. So even in Couture took round 1 and 3 it makes the fight a draw. just one guys opinion.
Posted By: Todd Vote (Guest) on November 15, 2009 at 11:18 AM
Captain America controlled the pace of the fight, he was the general and would do what he wants when he wants...That's how you win a DECISION People and Vera did absolutely nothing outside of this takedown (which led to nothing from here) and some leg kicks (and the judges tend to hate them ask Cecil Peoples IMO).
Couture won EASILY two of three rounds.
Randy via UD was the RIGHT Call and Now, at 46 years of age, The legendary Captain America is back with on track !
WAR RANDY !

,,,vera gave randy some good body kicks and i think a good right in the begging and that takedown. HE wasnt able to capitalize though on them so they are esentially worthless randy was able to impose his will on vera and stick to his gameplan
Posted By: MaZZacare (Guest) on November 15, 2009 at 12:31 PM
Vera should of aim for a knockout. Never let the fight go to a decision when it comes to the judges.
Posted By: Ja (Guest) on November 15, 2009 at 01:54 PM
Im not 100% sure... but I think Fear Inc. may have won "the worst comment ever" in the MMA section. EVER. Do you even know english? Or coherent thought process?

All the guys who fought are lucky i wasnt on the card cos i would beat them all UFC 1 style!!!!

Some random facts:
- Ross Pearson, has come to play Hardball… completely dominated
- Matt Brown vs. James Wilks, I found this match to be Very entertaining… Awesome PPV filler match, great showing…
- Awesome Old Skool MMA Brawl, between Bisping & Kang… Good G& P vs. Defensive Grappling match, “The Count”, proof that he’s lost at UFC 100, because it was against the #2 middleweight in the world. Best Fight of the night…
- Tonight’s winner of the “I Came to Fight 3, 5 minutes Rounds, Doing well… The referee said something to me, about something, don’t really remember… and then everything went Pitch black, what the hell Happened? Where the fuck am I?” Award, goes to… Jared Hamman… It look like a jealous Ex boyfriend fucking up the guy, that know is dating his ex Girlfriend…!
- I Can’t Help bough laugh at Mike Swick… he went from GSP’s next Match to Never going to happen, just 3 events later… His playing Demian Maya’s Role after he got KTFO by Marquardt at UFC 102… From humble, to happy that Kampman lost, to lucky, to confident, to Cooky, to almost starting to trash talk to the Champ… To Not Gonna Ever figth the Champ”… The Outlaw look sharper in this one, look’s like switch had a bit of ring rust, anyhow: good Luck to Hardy, losing to GSP… Good Match!
- How great is GSP… talking Up Hardy! That is pure Class Act!
- Brandon Vera, in my opinion was more the aggressor in this contest, out of both fighters, he was the one who was trying to finish the match, he had a very good match against Couture, and Couture used Greco-Roman Hug technique here (Calling this Extreme Couture, just doesn’t feel right) and basically to me at no time did he ever tried finish the figth. Couture won by my simple fact that he overpowered Vera, and didn’t let do jack shit standing up, if Vera could have work the plan he did in the final 1 of the last round by round #2, he could had pull the victory, but it was to late.
Couture, did win but in lack luster fashion! Vera should have known that he had to keep his distance and Shoot figth to win this one; he did look way netter than Couture to me...
Sad to say that there was no Fucking way Couture was going to lose going to a decision… Judges Suck!
