411's Ultimate Fighter Report 11.18.09: Episode Ten
Posted by Larry Csonka on 11.18.2009
Jon Madsen battles Brendan Schaub, Matt Mitrione is still scrambled, Kimbo is hurt but wants his spot and Dana White gives his usual “do you want to be an FN fighter” speech! Check out 411’s complete Ultimate Fighter report for all the details!
Last week on the Ultimate Fighter… Roy Nelson defeated Justin Wren via decision, in a bout that should have gone to the third round. Justin Wren came out fast, but faded down the stretch while Dana White continued to doubt Big Country. Rampage put chickens in the cars of Team Rashad, which was laughed off. The chickens were then released into the wild of Las Vegas. Matt Mitrione got his brain scrambled, and is doubting if he can fight or not, while the house wonders if he is faking or not. There was more speculation of Kimbo Slice's return to fighting on the show…
411's Ultimate Fighter Report 11.18.09: Episode Ten
We kick things off at the gym, and Matt Mitrione and others arrive. Rashad says they have bonded together and have great energy. Mitrione says he brain swelled, had a migraine and was dehydrated. Rashad is worried, and Mitrione says he wants to fight, but he feels slow. He will be seeing the doctor again. Rashad thinks he has a concussion. They tell him if he had swelling of the brain that he is not fine. They tell him that he needs to make a decision, because the headaches will continue. They seem to think that he is full of it, including one of the coaches, who says he shouldn't be fighting. Rashad says he doesn't want to quit, because he doesn't want to look soft.
We go back to the house, and the house discusses Mitrione's situation, and they say Mitrione is a punk and should be making a decision. They do not think he has a concussion, and says he has to man up. Scott Junk says that it is unfair to Mitrione's opponent, and that he is a two faced little bitch.
At the gym, Rampage and his guys say that Mitrione wants to fight. Rampage says if Kimbo fights, he can beat McSweeney. Kimbo rides the bike, and has a hurt leg. Rampage says if he has to fight, they are going to prepare him. Rampage jokes around and takes a bump, showing what would happen if Kimbo doesn't protect his leg. Kimbo says street fighting is just banging, and that you can't be a punk in the UFC. Kimbo wants to fight, but he knows he has to be ready.
And we're back at the gym as Brendan Schaub gets his work out on. He says Madsen is a one-dimensional wrestler, and he doesn't worry about his stand up game. McSweeney and Rashad discuss takedown defense, and Rashad backs off due to not wanting to favor one guy over another. BIG COUNTRY steps into help him out. McSweeney praises Brendan's abilities. Brendan wants to make it exciting, but facing a wrestler, it may not be.
The doctor meets with Kimbo, and says that Kimbo is missing some cartilage. I know that pain. They say that they can drain the knee or give him a cortisone shot. Kimbo says that he is NOT getting stuck by a needle. I think he's afraid.
They go to the Palms, and it is time for the coaches challenge…BEACH VOLEY BALL~! Rampage says he doesn't play, but he watches the chicks. It will be Rampage and Tiki vs. Rashad and Mike Van Arsdale. The prize is $10,000 for the coaches that win, and $1,500 for the fighters of the winning coach.
~During a commercial, Kimbo explains how he tore his bicep in a street fight. It's Scott Steiner freaky looking.~
Back from commercial and we see the game of volleyball. Rampage wins the first game 15-8. Rampage was happy he actually won something. Game two goes to team Rashad 15-10. Dana was impressed because it was actually a good game. Rashad wins the last game 15-12, and they celebrate. He is happy because he won money for his guys, and Rampage was pissed but says he had a good time. Rashad tells him to touch the money, but he says he touched 10-grand many times. Rampage then says he wants to knock Rashad the FUCK out.
Back at the house, Kimbo is worried about the knee. He says he has tried to take care of it, but will not turn down a fight. They get an ice bath together, and Big Baby says Kimbo can't handle that because he is a tropical brother. He gets in, and they all laugh at him. He eventually can't take it anymore and gets out to the laughter of all. Back to the hot tub goes Kimbo. Kimbo wants to be an Ultimate Fighter.
Jon Madsen discussed fighting Schaub, and Schaub gets pissed because Rashad is spending too much tie with Madsen in training. We see more training as Madsen discusses his gameplan.
~During commercial, we see Rashad learning some volleyball basics. He doesn't like the sport, and hates the feel of sand on him when he sweats.~
Back from commercial and Rashad talks to Mitrione. Rashad tells him he has a choice, and says that he shouldn't fight if his heart is not in it. Mitrione says he kind of feels forced to fight, and Rashad asks what he wants to do and says they are not forcing him to do anything. Rashad says they care, and when Mitrione acts like this, he makes them look like assholes. Rashad doesn't appreciate this, and tells him that if he isn't into it 100%, he will get very hurt. Mitrione says he is tired of the drama, and he wants it to be over and wants to go home. Then go home you damn baby. Rashad says he will call Dana and make the decision himself.
Dana arrives and says if fighting and winning this contract is what you want to do, they do it. He says that you are never 100% when you fight or play sports. Mitrione says Dana gave his speech, and feels that was meant for him. Dana says he will not force someone to fight, because that is not what this is about. He isn't calling them out on their man hood, but if you do not want to fight, you're in the wrong place. He doesn't see a real fighter in Mitrione. Dana says if Mitrione is cleared, he can fight and also says he is not calling him a pussy, but if he doesn't want to fight, then don't fight. Dana says someone wants that chance, and he hopes they get it, because Mitrione has to do a gut check. Dana also used fuck approximately 6 times in there; use your imagination, kind of like a mad-libs, it's more fun that way.
Brendan Schaub weighs in at 239. Jon Madsen weighs in at 247.
On fight day, we see the guys getting ready in their locker rooms.
~During commercial, Mitrione and McSweeney have some verbal intercourse. Hey, that's what they called it…~
THE FIGHT: Jon Madsen{1-0} vs. Brendan Schaub {4-0}
ROUND ONE: Round one begins, they circle and look to establish some striking. Schaub seems calmer as he allows Madsen to circle, and then Madsen gets the takedown. He is in half guard now, works Schaub to the cage, Schaub gets warned two times to stop grabbing the fence. Madsen controls, but isn't doing a damn thing. Madsen pushes Schaub around the mat, but isn't doing any damage and thankfully they get stood up. Shot by Schaub as Madsen works for a takedown, Schaub grabs the cage AGAIN. They clinch, Madsen in control against the cage, knees by Schaub now. Schaub then gets warned for grabbing the shorts. And gets warned again. BIG right by Schaub as Madsen shoots, Schaub looked for a guillotine but gets taken down. Madsen in side control, Schaub gets warned AGAIN for grabbing the fence. Take a damn point ref. Madsen continues to waste side control by doing nothing at all. Schaub gets a few body shots and pulls Madsen to half guard as the round ends.
SCORECARD>: 10-9 Madsen. Boring as piss, and Schaub should have been deducted points for the various warnings he was given. But also, Madsen did about nothing, but the two takedowns and control got him the round.
ROUND TWO: Round two begins now, I smell a finish as we are running out of show time. They come out, circle, Madsen throws a light combo and misses. Schaub in, they go to the cage, body shots by Schaub. Away from the cage, knees by Schaub, Madsen fails at a takedown, Schaub gets warned AGAIN for grabbing the fence. They separate, Madsen is tired here, Schaub stalks him, Madsen misses a right and gets LIT UP by Schaub and that is all. He bows like he fought a great fight. He didn't.
OFFICIAL DECISION: Brendan Schaub via RD KO
Rashad rightfully points out that Schaub should have lost a point in round one. Dana says if you can shut down a one-dimensional guy; that is impressive.

Why is there no Tuf next week?
Posted By: Scottyieoittie (Guest) on November 18, 2009 at 11:25 PM
I would guess because of thanksgiving.

I'm glad I took this off my DVR. I'm sick of all this "is Kimbo going to fight" crap...I was sick of it after he predictably lost in one of the worst fights of the season. Seriously, TUF has probably jumped the shark with this season.

WTF? That fight was brutal in the first round. Put me to sleep not once but twice. I didn't know who won until just now and that's with me owning a DVR.

Was that a Fonzie reference? HAHAHAHAH nice Butters4prez!

I used to like rashad. Evan rooted for him this season... tolerated him as he egged Rampage on. But the past couple weeks I get why Rampage doesn't like Rashad... he's a grade a Ahole. Who tells another man to "tough the money". I hope somebody beats rashads ass....

You will never see TUF Heavyweights ever again.
Worst fights of all time. Some of the worst since Severn vs Shamrock.
