At least Roy didnt win with the top crucifix position and punches to the top of his opponents head again. Huge bomb he threw there, he gets full credit for being the champ.

Either Houston threw that fight or he sucks even worse than I thought he did.

Not sure exactly what to say about the kimbo/housten fight...
Housten wanted to fight smarter instead of just giving the all out slugfest we expected(and wanted)which made the whole first round a bore and parts of the 2nd and 3rd.
Kimbo i was actually fairly impressed with, as a fighter, showing great wrestling and ground game. I thought he did better on the ground than standing up!
When they were standing and the times they got into the exchanges, houstens shots seemed more accurate and if they had of just went for the all out scrap i think he would have had the better chance of winning.
So overall the fight was a letdown entertainment wise, but if you are interested in seeing Kimbo's progress as an MMA fighter it was decent, but being 35yrs old he probably wont have that much of an mma career in him.

Jon Jones loss via DQ: Bullshit
Kimbo Slice win via Decision: Good
Roy Nelson win via KO: Priceless.
I just wish Nelson would have knocked Dana White the fuck out. Dana's a shit-talking pussy. I feel bad for Hamill, but Jones beat him every way it's possible for one fighter to beat another without killing him. The DQ was bullshit. The Kimbo fight, despite the fact he was fighting a tomato can, was more competitive than I would have thought going in. Joe Rogan needs to be KTFO, too.
Posted By: Mike Goldberg (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 12:20 AM
someone scored the fight 30-27 kimbo? no way he won all 3 rounds. the first was houstons, 2nd kimbos and 3rd could have gone either way. anyway im glad roy won and jon jones was screwed. hamill was finished before the illegal elbows were dropped
Posted By: tony danza (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 12:28 AM
how did houston get any higher than 8 points from the first round?
he ran away the whole round and threw ineffective leg kicks......

Hey can someone clarify something for me? My friend said something about A logo or sponsor saying or meaning nazi or some shit thanks.
Posted By: Scottyieoittie (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 12:38 AM
It is no surprise to me that Mazzagatti was the ref in the DQ, as he is the worst ref across any sport in history. Whoever said that Jones beat Hamill every way possible short of killing him was right on the money. Jones probably gets less money because of the "loss" but everybody knows he won.
Slice/Houston - I just like Kimbo. Let's face it, this is as much a human interest story as a fight story, so good for him. At 35 he really only has a small window so I hope he milks it for whatever it's worth and is smart with his money.
Nelson/Schaub: First couple of weeks of the show I hated Nelson, but by the end I liked him and hated Schaub. I was happy to see Roy win and happier to see Brendan hit the canvas.
Posted By: someguy (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 12:38 AM
JON JONES even tried to ask the ref to stop this fight, the ref declined. The dude has pointy elbows that make it look worse than what it was. Boy was Hamil laying on the group motionless the funniest thing i saw all year. The camera guy is ruthless.
Posted By: me guy (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 01:32 AM
All my friends put down wrestling because it is "fake" because it is predetermined ....after watching this show tonight and seeing Jones get disqualified I'm thinking that Ufc which all my friends love is just as "fake" as wrestling because it has to be predetermined that match should have been stopped before he even threw those elbows. even Hamil stated that he had dislocated his shoulder and couldn't defend himself . at least wrestling states it's entertainment not a sport I think it may be time for the Ufc to do that also
Posted By: Mark (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 01:47 AM
To people bitching about Jones getting DQed
1 there is a difference between pounding someone out and just throwing leather and not hitting anything
2 they where a illegal strike i would of gone NC but eh its the judges decision
3 i think mazagati did a good job ---i know im amazed i typed it to
Posted By: MaZZacare (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 02:16 AM
Steve Mazzagatti is a fuckin' jabroni! & so is Joe Rogan. (Jones wasn’t trying to con the fuckin’ ref)
Jones was landing shots for over a minute & had Hamil busted open! the ref should have stopped the fight ‘before’ the illegal elbow.
Now Jones has a loss on his record, loses his win bonus and Hamil took unnecessary damage. Good job Steve!
Posted By: Paul McJoe (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 02:16 AM
It's kind of hard for Matt Hamill to "sign" to the ref that he can't continue with Jones mauling him...
...I'm just sayin'.
Posted By: Guest#0464 (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 02:19 AM
Matt Hamill may very well have been one or two punches away from being tko'd, but the fact of the matter is Bones hit him with illegal blows. Regardless of which blows did the most damage, if Hamill can't continue, the fight is over.
If the illegal blows were UNintentional, it would've been a No Contest (see- CroCop vs Overeem). However, because the illegal strikes were clearly intentional, Bones is disqualified, awarding Hamill the win.
Mazzagatti made the right call.....I guess hell just froze over.

No pun intended, but Roy Nelson is massively annoying.
Posted By: Gothmad (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 03:14 AM
well i guess houston should have throw more i he want to win i mean come he ran the whole fight round 2 was kimbo and i more then likely was 10-8 the last round was a toss up so that dumbass gameplan of running for 3min then throwing a few leg kick was useless the judges probably gave kimbo round 1 because houston didn't advance and wasted 3min of the fight

YOU ARE ALL RETARDED WHEN IT COMES TO THE HAMILL/JONES FIGHT..
yes jones dominated hamill.. but honestly the reason why Maz. didnt stop the fight cuz earlier was because, if u weren't you'd see that hamill was actually fine in the beginning and was blocking alot of the elbows..
and YES it sucks that jones got DQed but hey, he DID infact throw 2 "12-6" elbows on hamill and from that alone allows hamill to do watever he wants.. from wanted to end the fight there or to go on..
rules are rules, if you want MMA to be a real sport, go by them or go back to watching street fights, because some of you really have to think to urselves, do you like MMA as a sport or do you just fighting
Posted By: wylun (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 04:15 AM
Jon Jones definitely shouldn't have gotten the win, no matter if it would've ended anyways. The fight was stopped because Hamill was KO'ed by illegal strikes. BUT, the fight should've been ruled a no contest, not a win by DQ.
And also, does anyone else LOVE the fact that Roy Nelson entered to "Fat" by 'Weird' Al Yankovich?? I think it's awesome.
Posted By: Rock Robster (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 05:30 AM
The first round of Kimbo-Houston had to go to Kimbo just on Octagon Control. I don't think shuffling around the outside and maybe getting the best of a paltry amount of exchanges earns you a round.
And Matt Hamill's next fight should be Steve "I can't even order the right size uniform" Mazzagatti. He almost got him killed and screwed Jones. Then while he's down and blood is clearly trickling into both of his eyes he asks if he's ok. The guy is deaf, you STUPID FUCK.
Posted By: Guest#1504 (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 07:24 AM
Anybody who says that Bones got robbed is a fucking retard. It's his fault for using illegal elbows in a fight he was dominating. Rules are rules.
Posted By: Diavo (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 07:34 AM
First off I did NOT see the card. No time. No cable. Bummer.
If Jones cut Hammill with an illegal blow (point of the elbow is an illegal blow) how is the DQ bs? Just because you don't like a fighter doesn't mean the result you don't like is bs.
If Jones threw the illegal blow, and the doc stopped the fight due to the cut from it JONES LOSES. By the book.
Same as Nelson's lame head tap on Kimbo in round one. Those punches looked like something my grandmother would throw. And my grandmother is dead...
Posted By: TPK (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 08:12 AM
Guys i think it was the right call to dq jones, those kind of elbows are really dangerous plus Jones should know whats legal and what isn't so he only has himself to blame.
Posted By: wank (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 08:44 AM
maybe i'm just dumb, but i thought it looked like hamill was still defending himself and trying to work a way out. and besides that, jones was throwing a lot of sloppy elbows that weren't even landing.
i don't think jones should have been disqualified, but i can't blame the ref for not stopping it.

@ Scottyieoittie
Joe Brammer was to be sponsored by Hoelzer Reich (previously also a Mac Danzig sponsor), a clothing brand however accused of having neo-Nazi ties and with rather questionable imagery. For what it's worth, Brammer ended up getting RNC'd by Mark Bocek, which means that Bocek has had three consecutive victories by RNC and got Submission of the Night.

As a fighter you don't have to sign, that you are done. It was obvious that hamill was done and i'm not even a ref!! There have been more stopages than guys quitting in mma.

Hamill was blocking most of the GnP from Jones
Posted By: Guest#4510 (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 09:36 AM
I thought Houston Alexander was auditioning for Dancing With the Stars after that first round.
Posted By: AGM (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 09:40 AM
Did any of you Hamill haters actually watch the fight or just read about it? Were you drunk or high out of your minds? Jones was throwing blows, but Matt was defending. Jones may have landed 1 strike per 10 thrown. The only ones that really got through were the illegal ones. He actually landed about 4 of those. The fight should've been stopped during the 1st one, but Mazz wasn't on his game.
Oh, and, it was Cecil that gave the 30-27 score in the Kimbo fight

Posted By: Jimbo (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 10:28 AM
Well, hopefully this ends up going as well for Jones as it did for the last guy Mazzigatti screwed. Just like Lesnar/Mir 1, there was no warning for the elbows, just an immediate stand up and point deduction. I love how one elbow was enough for the DQ but forty or so unanswered (and mostly unblocked) shots weren't enough to stop the fight.

Judging by the fact that you cannot spell very basic words or put a simple sentence together, I can only guess that you are a child. You should really listen to your parents and go to bed at 8:00 next time instead of staying up and watching UFC.

What is this then, the 5th straight UFC with a terrible decision in a big match? Hard to believe that's all coincidental.

Schaub got KTFO but he'll be back. The Kimbo/Houston fight went almost exactly opposite of what I and probably everyone else expected. I'd expect Houston to be released now. JOnes looked like an animal. Yea, it sucks that Hamill is deaf but come on! Jones beat him down and Mazagatti fuckin sucks! Seriously, this guy is always on the wrong end of a controversial decision. Even Dana White said he's not a good ref! BROTHER!

Ding Ding Ding the winner for stupidest comment of the day. He's deaf not mute moron. He can talk but since he can't hear himself he has problems speaking. He would need the ref to sign to him that he's gonna stop the fight, because I imagine its hard to read lips when someones pounding your face.

Great night of FREE fights!
Bones Jones looked great AGAIN. If not for that mental slip up he would have finished Hamil off legally.
Wouldn't mind seeing Marcus Jones after he gets some stand up. his takedowns are solid. Chin is glass, but with some cardio help could be trouble.
Kimbo!!! I marked out when he slammed Alexander (am kinda wondering about Houstons choice of tactics though) and even tried to show a ground game! Still needs to work that cardio.
Had big country from the start. How did they even put him in the house. He was a RINGER! Former IFL champ versus a bunch of noobs....
Posted By: MadLiberator (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 11:36 AM
Jones was throwing loads of strikes at Hamill, but he was covering well, they were doing very little damage.
Then he threw a few illegal elbows, which did massive damage, and these are what ended the fight, the DQ was the right decision.
Posted By: Ian (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 12:29 PM
Jones WAS trying to con the ref because Hamill was still trying to stop the strikes landing. Two illegal strikes to the bridge of the nose are what caused the DQ, and they are what left Hamill unable to continue.
If he hadn't hit those elbows from 12 to 6, he'd have easily won due to Hamill's shoulder, even though Hamill was still trying to block on the ground he wouldn't have lasted long.

I sense a Kimbo-Nelson rematch.
Posted By: Dubhagan (Registered) on December 06, 2009 at 01:06 PM
Decent show.
Marcus Jones losing was sad. He will NEED better stand up if he wants to go any further.
Jon Jones' DQ was questionable, but don't cry for him too much. The guy could be the future at LHW. Give him a REAL opponent next; Vera or the winner of Bader/Jardine.
The Kimbo fight didn't quite live up to the hype, but at not fault of his own. Houston should be cut from the UFC. That first round was DREADFUL. He did not win the first round. Throwing a few weak leg kicks and circling the guy does win you a round. Definition of a 10-10 round. I don't know where Kimbo goes from here, his potential is limited, but we'll see.
Screw the haters, Roy Nelson is pure gold. He's hilarious and a good fighter; head and shoulders above anyone else on this seasons TUF. He will never be champ, but he will be in the upper half of the division for a while.
Posted By: Guest#3996 (Guest) on December 06, 2009 at 01:06 PM
Mazzacre do yourself a favor, and try to watch it again.
Mazzagati was out of position as the fight should have been stopped after the first 12 to 6 elbow, not 2.
He also twice asked a deaf fighter if he could continue while Jones had mount, too bad Hammil can't hear him.
The dq is extra silly given the result of Burns v Johnson. (3 eye pokes ftw?, consistency please)
As for throwing leather and not hitting anything? Hammil dislocated his shoulder trying to block, had a broken nose, and was bleeding all over the place before either illegal elbow. I'd say he was getting hit.

Hamill WAS blocking some of those shots though. He was defending, it wasn't until Jones started dropping the elbows that Hamill went out. Jones should have been more patient. He got what he deserved.

P4P worst show the UFC has put on Spike.
Bullshit dq, freakshow fights with ex-NFL guys, Hulk Hogan???
Kimbo/Houston was terrible, looked like a bigger work than Coleman/Takada. How was Housto gassed at the end when he did almost fuck all in the 1st & 3rd??
If this card happend in Japan the UFC fanboys would be ripping this shit to shreds!

Mazzagatti sucks as a ref, plain and simple. The fight should've been called sooner AGAIN.
Houston/Kimbo should've been a draw, but it's good to see Kimbo becoming a more complete fighter than being hyped as the next big thing against cans. Overall entertaining.
Congrats to Roy Nelson for doing something other than pinning a guy under his beer gut. Let's see how good he is against the UFC heavyweight class.

Geespotter, did you watch the fight? Hammil was bleeding from both eyes and had a broken nose, from "blocking" all of those strikes. Also it was two illegal elbows not four.
Maybe know what you are talking about before commenting, the replay isn't hard to find online chief.

Oh, and to all the people saying "rules are rules". Tell that to Anthony Johnson. He lost to Burns after THREE eye pokes made him unable to continue. Eye pokes are 1 point penalties same as illegal elbows. Where is his free win or no contest even?
This dq is like saying a football team should lose for a facemask call and an offsides.

When I heard 30-27 for Kimbo, I was amazed...but then I thought "well if it's Cecil Peoples, it makes sense". After all he did say after the Machida/Shogun fight "You have to keep in mind we always the favor the fighter who is trying to finish the fight, and leg kicks certainly don't do that."
What a douche. I actually thought Houston won that fight 29-28, losing the second round easily, but I guess there's a reason I'm not a judge.

On the 30-27 score for Kimbo - 1st round you had Alexander on the bike for 5 straight minutes. Two of the criteria are octagon control and aggression, and let's face it he showed neither. Second round was all Kimbo. Third round was pretty even, but Alexander had one knockdown from the kick, and Kimbo had a subsequent takedown. I would think the takedown counts for more and based on that I could see a judge giving the round to Kimbo.
Not trying to hate on anyone who would score the fight differently, just offering up an interpretation.

Bavitz, your analogy doesn't make much sense. If the facemask or offside penalty had somehow brought an end to the game, then it would make sense.
And as far as consistency goes, you gotta do your research. That fight was the first time in UFC history that a ref watched an instant reply to determine the result of a fight. Mazzagatti didn't have that for Johnson/Burns I. As far as not stopping it sooner, Hamill was blocking the majority of the shots. Nothing devastating landed. Matt did a fantastic job of defending from the mount. Jones needs to learn to conserve his energy too. Any mature MMA fighter knows that if your shots aren't getting thru, then don't take those shots. At least pic the right ones, not go balls out the entire time. Dude was gassed out at the end, and he was lucky Hamill was injured. Don't believe me? Listen to the post-fight interview. He's clearly out of breath.

Some Random facts:
- Boy was I let down, by this fight… I as well as everybody, was expecting Big Bay to fucking murder Mitrione, after their respective confrontation on the last episode of TUF 10… It never happened… Big Baby’s cardio, just died after the first round, Mitrione, won here because of a better stand up (not that much better)and cardio… big let down!… completely BLAH!
- Very entertaining fight, between Edgar & Veach, great display of MMA Tactics, a great Old School MMA Brawl, Good wrestling techniques display overall by bought fighters… But Frankie’s experience proof to be to much for Veach, in the end… Best Fight of the night…
- Either, Kimbo is better then we though? Or was Alexander that out of it? What was up, with Houston’s “merry go round” plan, in the first round? Kimbo won the first round just for the fact that he at least tried to hit his opponent… Kimbo look way sharper in the second round, he has indeed taken the time to learn a much needed ground game, completely dominated this round, by the middle of the third round, I could care less who won… Good showing by Kimbo, and a Very Sloppy match by Alexander, (I’m amazed that Houston’s ass isn’t getting his “Shit Can, Released Papers” as I’m writing this)… This Match mainly SUCK ASS!
- Tonight’s winner of the “WTF?” prize went to: Jones vs. Hamill, sure Jones look like a monster in this fight, completely took apart Hamill, no doubt that he’s got what it takes to be a future champion, but the finish was to “What Happened?...” don’t get me wrong, The 12-6 elbows are in fact illegal, the referee made the right call to stopped the fight on that… if you see the “G&P” that Jones was applying, you see an obvious reason why he ended up, throwing the illegal blows… he was murdering the shit out of Hamill, looking at the referee, as saying “come on man!, or do you want me to kill this man?, so you can stop the fight…” and since the ref didn’t, he actually tried to murder him… I still think it should have been ruled as a “No Contest”, not a “DG Lost”… But I understand this decision…
- Now to our third let down of the night… I really wanted anybody to kick James Mc Sweeney’s ass, after he’s first match on the show… Even if he didn’t win, the overall TUF 10 competition… To me nobody ever shut his mouth up… I was expecting “Titties” to choke Sweeney tha’ fuck out… instead we got the opposite… Shit!
- “Fat” By Weird AL, Awesome moment! Big Country Brought it, showing why he was the favorite to win it all from day one… he and Schaub, put on a really good fight… in the end the Fat bastard finally showed some power with his KO’… the best detail:Nobody beat Nelson ass… So now, Dana, has to pay a six figure salary to a fighter that he completely Trashed... SUCK IT,DANA!...

In The End, Honestly speaking…
TUF 10 might have been a ratings BOOM… but he competition on this season was utter shit... They all lack Speed, Power & Cardio, so there’s really Zero Danger, in the UFC Heavyweight Division… At least Barry, Ciesnolevicz, Drwal, Gormley, Hague, Gordeau, Tuchscherer, Hardonk, Herring, Gonzaga & Cro Cop… are all, going to have a Job in the UFC, taking out this group of “Cardio Impaired” fighters…
