George looked awesome and that was one hell of a fight. Bisping losing was the best thing in MMA this year. Had Wanderlei had that choke in the end of the 2nd round 10 seconds earlier he would have tapped....Bisping moved his hand like he was gonna tap and that shit was tight...just look on the expression on Wands face...he gave it everything he had. So saved by the belll there douche. And then he gets lucky at the end of the 3rd...a few more seconds and it would have been lights out for Mr.Douche. The ref gave a motion like he was stopping it but changed his mind. Either you stop it or you don't...in this case it should have been stopped. Hopefully I only have to see Bisping in the main card at the european PPV's from now on, cause I don't get the prelims...and that's likely where he will roam. With Daley and Hardy doing great Dana's little british pet-project Bisping is no more! The main event was good...all 3 minutes of it. Who the hell's gonna stop Cain??

I really enjoyed this ppv. Cain destroyed Big Nog. I really wanted Nog to win but oh well. Cain showed that he is a threat. I just wanna see Mir get destroyed by whoever. Fuck yeah for the Ax Murderer.

Awesome show!! Great fights, great crowd (Aussie fans rule).
Wand looked great for his first outing at 185, Cro Cop looked solid - at least he let his punches flow and actually looked like he wanted to be there and Perosh showed great heart. Sotiropoulos/Joe Daddy was a beautiful grappling display, Bader & Cain proved the hype is justified (gotta admit a little bit of my soul died seeing Nog go out like that). Even the prelims they showed were good.
Best UFC show in a LONG time.

I agree with u UK. My heart was pounding for Wand and Nog. I really wanted both of them to win.

BROCK destroy Mir/Carwin/Cain-BROCK SMASH!

Man Nogs done. If Dos Santos beats Gonzaga that would be a sick fight Dos Santos kills the hype train called Cain.

Great show
Seeing Silva handle Bisping was nice and the almost knockout finish was just icing on the cake. Should have been 30-26 across the board, Maybe 30-27, not 29-28.
Great to see Mirko look more like his old self, although i wonder what they do with him now because most of the other HW's are booked. MAybe a match with Nog. That would be good. Or he could rematch Kongo, but i think he has a fight coming already. Guess we'll have to see what happens with some of the other HW fights first.
I liked the technicality of the Stevenson fight but i really don't care for either of the participants. Not that i don't like them, but they're just not interesting enough for me to care about.
I like both Bader and Jardine so i was interested to see that fight, not exactly the finish i expected(GnP win by Bader was my prediction) but fun never the less.
I had a hard time picking the main event and it turned out much different than i expected. I picked Nog by third round submission. Cain looked great and i cant wait to see more of him. It's good to finally see all of the "big three" wrestlers fighting real competition. I mean, Cain and Carwin have alot of wins over nobodies and then two over names(Kongo and Rothwell) for Cain and one over a talented yet overhyped Gonzaga for Carwin. But now they're going back to back against former HW champs. As for Lesnar one could argue he has fought real competition his whole UFC career, but i honestly don't think the first fight with Mir saw Lesnar in any trouble and Herring will forever be a HW gatekeeper at best.
As far as Cains future goes, i dont know. On one hand Dana said that the winner of this fight would have dibbs on the unified champ, but that could potentially be 8 or more months away and who knows if Cain wants to wait that long. But if he doesn't wait, he risks losing a title shot with a loss in an meaningless fight. On the other hand, Dana said that if Mir or Carwin isn't ready on time, the winner of this fight gets the shot at Lesnar, so like Mirko, i guess Cain is just a victim of bad timing and we will have to wait and see.
Thanks for listening.

Silva looked fantastic... Nog, hang it up, ur done...
Posted By: Jorge (Guest) on February 21, 2010 at 02:18 AM
I was holding my breath as the Silva/Bisping decision was announced. So glad he's back on track with a win.
Nog losing like that was heartbreaking. I don't think he's done, but his chin is not what it once was. He can't take a big shot like that anymore. I fully expect them to book Nog vs Cro Cop next.
Posted By: Guest#5404 (Guest) on February 21, 2010 at 02:49 AM
dont get me wrong he deserves his shot now with the big dogs, BUT, Nogueira just isnt the same guy anymore. Unless he had staff LOL. But i think this fight just furthered the hype train. HE DONT WANT MIR!!!!! or brock

I hope that Big Nog's Camp, doesn't go with the whole: "He had a severe Staph infection & was very sick Pre-fight and we didn't want to tell nobody, Hipotesis"... AGAIN!!!

Anyone still think Jardine should be ranked???

Nog's finished? Relax boys.

Just got home from Sydney (late flight back to Melbourne). I hearby nominate George Sotiropoulos for Australian of the Year. Holy shit was that intense live!
Also, I think Cain Valasquez has arrived. I wasn't a big fan, but there's no spinning this against him, he knocked motherfuckin' Nogueira out cold and did it quickly.
I also loved Bader/Jardine. Can't wait to rewatch that, and the show as a whole. I can't imagine the heat for Sotiropoulos/Stevenson came across on TV that in any way represents how freakin' loud that was.
Great card with a lot of really close fights. Kudos and thanks to the UFC. Come back soon.

So Bisping has lost against Evans, Hendo and the axe murderer thats three top guys. So what if hes not gonna be a top contender he can still earn himself a nice paycheck and he always sells his fights well. there seems to be so much hate for the brits but more and more guys are coming through and i for one will be interested to see what happens in the next few years.
Posted By: guest (Guest) on February 21, 2010 at 09:33 AM
I'm really dissapointed Big Nog lost but ah well's. Well done Cain, would really have loved to see Big Nog vs Lesner but that probably won't happen now. Maybe Dos Santos can avenge his mentors loss in the future.
Posted By: tab (Guest) on February 21, 2010 at 09:34 AM
Big Nog is ONLY 32-6-1...and those 6 loses come from top notch fighters (2 from Fedor, Hendo, Mir, Barnett, and now Cain). He's also only 33 (like Wandi). You are all idiots if you think he's done. I say Nog gets the loser of Mir/Carwin, have Cain get the winner of Dos Santos/Gonzaga, that way Cain can get one more fight in before his title shot near the end of the year (winner of Mir/Carwin gets Brock in June/July).
I'm just amazed at the depth of the heavyweight division right now, and it's not even including the newer acquisitions like the TUF10 guys.

I love how Noguiera gets knocked out (finished for the 2nd time in his career) and people are calling for him to hang it up. But people are praising Wanderlei. Anyone know how most of Wanderlei's recent fights have gone? Yeah, he lost. And this is coming from a fan of both guys. Big Nog ran into a buzzsaw and got jacked up. It's not like he got owned and dominated. Cain came out, looked strong and crisp, and knocked him the hell out. Wanderlei looked like a new fighter. Tactical, strong, cautious. He could be a major threat at Middleweight.
Just understand people that one KO loss doesn't mean someone like Nogueira is finished. He just beat Couture his last fight. Noguiera could have a number of money fights left. You just can rarely set these old vets who have been through wars out there with young, hungry, blue chip guys because they do look out of their league. It's a great win for Cain to beat such a big name.

cains a beast but hes too small to compete with guys like lesnar, he should drop to light
Posted By: Guest#9733 (Guest) on February 21, 2010 at 10:39 AM
I must be the minority because I wanted to see Bisping win. The middleweight division is so boring right now. Bisping winning would have shaken things up a bit which is what that division needs. War Anderson. Not a fighter in the division (including Wanderli) that can challenge him.
Posted By: Jim (Guest) on February 21, 2010 at 10:42 AM
Nog's not finished...he got beaten by a freak of nature and probably the next heavyweight champion. Cain is a bad matchup for anyone. You can't judge Nog by this fight...against Randy he looked awesome. He's probably not gonna get a title shot this year but no way he's done....

Hell Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!! VELASQUEZ WON
Posted By: ChrisVazquez (Guest) on February 21, 2010 at 11:49 AM
Am I the only person who noticed the 'Bisping's a wanker' chant at the beginning of his fight?
Posted By: stool sample (Guest) on February 21, 2010 at 12:44 PM
I know i already commented, but i just wanted to add that i think Wanderlai should get a rematch with Vitor Belfort when he's healthy. I mean, Vitor had shoulder surgery and will likely be out flong enough for Anderson to decimate Sonnen and Maia, so a fight with these two could determine the final title defence for Anderson before he permanantly moves up to 205 for 3-5 final, huge money fights. And personally, i think that if anyone is going to beat Anderson it's one of these two. Either someone with hands as fast and powerful as Vitor(KO victory over Wandy) or someone with a very aggressive albeit sometimes unorthodox striking game who is also good in the clinch(Any of Wandy's pride fights)
Also, is it just me or do Wandy's punches sometimes remind people of Fedors wild looping haymakers? Just wondering.
Also, something i didn't mention but apparently might be happening according to a story on this site Cro Cop could get his fight with Rothwell when he's healed. But i would much rather see a fight with him and Big Nog.

Reviewing:
• This is the Best I’ve seen Soszynski… he look great against Bonnar… both standing up & on the ground, very entertaining fight.
By the By: “The American Pshico” is not done in the UFC, he is still good competition in the light heavyweight division… but he’s next match is a must win, at all cost’s
• Cro Cop, look motivated this time around, great showing very good stand up & takedown defense by the Croatian Sensation & Perosh is a tough guy taking this fight on such a short notice & not wanting it to end like that … Good Fight
• Bader, look great early on, but he has to work on his endurance, he puts it all on the line in the very first round… getting slower by the minute, but he has very good stand up & wrestling technique, he must improve all this before stepping up to top notch competition… Jardine did what he does best… CHOKE! Good Fight
• Lytle is still one of the most well rounded & entertaining fighters in the entire middleweight division. He is not top 5, but he will give a good fight with anyone… That Knee bar was sick!!! Good Match
• Sotiropoulos & Stevenson, both Look great, George look like a veteran in that fight that was a grappling 101… in the end the best man won! Great Fight
• Silva vs. Bisping… WOW!!! What a fight… great back & forward action by both fighters. Silva look amazing in this one, it wasn’t classic Axe Murderer, but he went all out in this one… WAR WAND! I still think that Bisping is top notch competition, give it up to the guy he only loses (and looks good) to the cream of the crop… Best Fight of the night!
• Velasquez is officially the Meanest Competition in the entire heavyweight division… He murdered Big Nog’, convincingly, no doubt about it… he took everything that Big Nog’ had to give standing up and took him apart. To bad this didn’t last longer… I wanted to see them take it to the ground, the best BJJ vs. the best Wrestler, in the Heavyweight division. Big Nog’ is not done by a long shot, he’s chin is not made of steel anymore… That’s all. Awesome (yet short) match
Great Show! ***3/4
