-Not the most outstanding win, but a win that gets Torres back on track and in the win column. He still doesn't seem to be as dangerous as he used to be. What about seeing a Miguel Torres vs. Urijah Faber super-fight at bantamweight at some point?

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Gleison Tibau by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 30-27).
-Tibau gets his third straight win inside the Octagon and gets his tenth career UFC win here. The fight never really got going besides Tibau's flurry late in the second round. It wasn't a bad split decision because the first round was close and I think almost close enough to be a 10-10. Hendo goes over the fight with Rogan and some of the spots where he almost stopped Shogun. Hendo gives credit to Shogun for staying in it.
-Rogan thanks Shogun for an amazing fight. Shogun says he will be better next time. Shogun congratulates Henderson.
-Henderson wins his UFC return and quite possibly the greatest fight of all time.
-Rogan and Goldberg recap the card and highlight the submission of the night: Urijah Faber's guillotine choke on Brian Bowles; and the co-fight of the night: Wanderlei Silva's knockout of Cung Le.
5th round was 10-8 for rua, hendo did nothing but lie mounted and eat punches. fight of the year, but should've been a draw

Once again poor judges ruin what was a pretty good match. Getting pretty sick of it actually.

That was one insane fight. Can't wait for Hendo to get a title shot. Wouldn't mind seeing Cung Le vs Chris Leben.

Hendo had a 10-8 round in the second too though...
Posted By: Guest#1969 (Guest) on November 19, 2011 at 11:54 PM
I dont see what was so epic beyond the 3rd round which 1-3 were epic but after that it was two gassed fighters doing nothing...

HENDO!!!!! Thats right Dana that guy just made you a TON of money.
Posted By: Guest#5192 (Guest) on November 19, 2011 at 11:57 PM
the fight could of gone a number of ways... i saw it 48-47 hendo.. ya the last round could of been a 10-8 rua but you could make a good arguement that the second or third round culd of been 10-8 hendo.. it was either hendo wins or it was a draw. ill stick with hendo
Posted By: Numbnutz (Guest) on November 19, 2011 at 11:58 PM
I thought the 2nd round was 10-8 Hendo, while the 5th round was 10-8 Shogun, so it balanced out to the correct decision.
I definitely couldn't have been upset with a draw though. Great fight.

Bull fucking shit. Hendo had a couple of rounds that could have been 10-8 himself. It was the right call! For once. War Hendo!
Posted By: beerslayer (Guest) on November 20, 2011 at 12:00 AM
I don't see how poor judges ruin this fight. Hendo wins first 3 rounds easy (including a 10-8) and Shogun takes the last two. It was such a good fight that it didn't matter who won. I don't think Shogun's stock is going to fall too much from this.
Posted By: Aftergone (Guest) on November 20, 2011 at 12:00 AM
Hendo won the first 3 ends, Shogun won the last 2. Even if either of them had a 10-8 rnd, Hendo still would of won since he landed way more damage.

Hendo Vs. Shogun should have been the UFC on Fox fight

"In the main event, Dan Henderson defeated Shogun Rua via controversial unanimous decision! "
And why exactly is that decision "controversial"? It falls exactly within the rules according to which the MMA fights are judged and you yourself scored it exactly the same (I personally thought it was 47-46 for Hendo), so...?
Posted By: JK (Guest) on November 20, 2011 at 12:06 AM
I know they wanna support Wandy and all but as much as I hate Bader he should get KO of the night. One punch knock out where Wandy's comeback was impressive, the ref stopped the fight early (althouh Le's face might say otherwise).

Wow, been a fan about 10 years now & Hendo/Shogun maybe my favourite fight ever!
I gave Shogun 10-8 in the 5th for a draw but no complaints after what I just witnessed. If they ever rematch I'm jumping on a damn plane to wherever I've got to, that was history tonight and its fights like that why I fucking love this sport so much.
Great to see Wand get the KO as well, first time since Pride he's really got that plum clinch & Knees going. Fabers boxing looks improved, awesome job by him. Great show overall.

I read that some people complained about the 5 round non title fights, but i thinks that shit is great. boxing does 12 round non title fights and plus without the extra 2 rounds we wouldn't have gotten to see Rua/Hendo to it's fullest.
GOOD SHIT! and good judging..
Posted By: MadLib (Guest) on November 20, 2011 at 12:11 AM
I found nothing wrong with the main event Hendo won 3 of the rounds Shogun won 2. Epic though War Hendo and War Shogun!!!
Posted By: Paul (Guest) on November 20, 2011 at 12:17 AM
Amazing fight. I had it a 47-47 draw, but could understand judge's reluctance to go 10-8 in round 5. Epic war, Shogun & Hendo had chins of iron.

@ANY WHO SAYS HENDO SCORED A 10-8 RD...Theres no way Hendo was even close to scoring any 10-8 rds. The 2nd was probably 1 of the closet rd dumb fucks, so stop saying it was a 10-8 rd. And in the 3rd Shogun scored a takedown and a sub attempt, so please NOW explain how Hendo scored a 10-8 rd
Posted By: Shogun Nigga (Guest) on November 20, 2011 at 12:52 AM
There was nothing controversial about the decision. Even if Shogun won the last round 10-8, Dan had a a 10-8 in one of the earlier rounds.
Shogun didn't really do enough damage in the last round, and wasn't close to finishing the fight.
It was a good decision.

@Jeffery Harris
In the main event, Dan Henderson defeated Shogun Rua via controversial unanimous decision!
WTF was controversial about it Dan had him 3rounds to Shoguns 2 ! Nothing controversial about that it's math !! Where do you get off with such blatant reporting ! Thats your opinion not the opinion of the UFC or entire MMA world !
Posted By: Retard (Guest) on November 20, 2011 at 01:09 AM
Amazing fight! I'd say that Hendo had a 10-8 in the second and that last round was 10-8 maybe even a 10-7. Shogun mounted him 3 or 4 times some big punches and Dan did nothing.
Posted By: Guest#9383 (Guest) on November 20, 2011 at 04:46 AM
i don't know how anyone could think henderson had a 10-8 round. just because joe rogan says he did doesn't make it so. round 5 on the other hand was clearly 10-8 shogun. it should have been a draw. refs messed this one up.

the most dominant round was clearly the 5th. at a stretch you COULD argue an earlier 10-8 in favour of hendo. but round 5 SHOULD have been a 10-8 to shogun. i thought it should have been a draw but thats more an issue with the mma rules for judging rather than an individual complaint about the judges last night. Well done to both fighters.
I dont see how Hendo offers much to Bones, the reach, size, speed, wrestling and muay ahai advantage is with Bones. Unless Bones walks into that right hand...
i would only give Hendo a title shot if its against Machida. If its Bones then they have to go with Rashad. I say match Hendo up against Machida, Rampage or a rematch with Shogun.
Shogun is in a similar position - Rampage, Hendo or maybe winner or Tito/Nog.

I had the last round 10-8 for Shogun too making it 47-47. The problem I have isn't with people scoring this fight 48-47 for Hendo (for which an argument can be made), it's with the judges' inconsistency in scoring fights on the same card. How can one judge give Stephan Bonnar two 10-8 rounds but not give Shogun 10-8 for round five? It makes no sense.

I would like to take this opportunity to say fuck Joe Rogan. I'm sorry that Wandy smashed your new man crush to bits, but it's absolute bullshit to try and taint his win by calling that a bad stoppage. You actually have the nerve to claim Cung Le was attempting a takedown? How does one attempt a takedown when he is flat on his stomach getting pummeled? His feet weren't even under him! It looked like he was doing the damn breast stroke. Yet you complain it was a bad stoppage? Cung sure didn't seem to be complaining about it. Of course, if he was, nobody would have known because his face was caved in.

To be fair, who gives a shit about the decision in the Main Event (except Shogun, obviously)?! It was a fantatsic fight that could have gone a number of ways depending on how you saw it. Rather than whining lets just appreciate what a spectacle it was. Move over Griffin-Bonnar 1

I know I'm going to get trolled and flamed for this, but that last round was NOT 10-8 for Shogun.
A CLEAR 10-9 round, for sure. But, Hendo was doing enough to defend himself, and Shogun wasn't quite getting enough damage through to qualify it for 10-8.
I'll admit, it was close, and if either of the above factors were different (Shogun doing more damage or Hendo not defending as much) then it would have been 10-8.
Before the arguing: A 10-8 round is a clear dominating round. That would mean that Hendo would basically do nothing but turtle, but not take enough damage to stop the fight.
Hendo, though: hip escaped often; almost reversed in one situation; every time Shogun postured up, Hendo went for the sweep/hip escape.
So, in my opinion, he got beat up, and beat badly, he was not dominated. He was beaten.
Being dominated would be squirming and covering up, not ACTIVELY trying to escape.

The judges did fuck up. Henderson won the first 4 rounds. Should of been 48-46 Henderson.
Posted By: Guest#1883 (Guest) on November 20, 2011 at 05:40 PM
Hendo got sat on for 5 mins and punched in the face, with no offense, and a few escapes that lead to nothing, how is that not a 10-8 round? It can't be the best fight ever cause of how sluggish it got at the end, I give it one of the best but not the best of all time.

Not particularly. The judge who gave Bonnar two 10-8 rounds wasn't scoring the main event and the one judge who was scoring both, gave only 10-9's in both fights.

Just got the following from Wrestling Observer:
The significant strikes stats were
First: Henderson 23, Rua 10
Second: Henderson 25, Rua 20
Third: Henderson 21, Rua 17
Fourth: Henderson 8, Rua 23
Fifth: Henderson 0, Rua 26
In takedowns, Henderson was 1 for 4 and Rua was 5 for 10.
