Upkick by Lentz, and now a guillotine attempt with body scissors this time. Bocek stands, tries to shake Lentz off but can't. Bocek falls, and Lentz eventually lets go. The crowd love that! Bocek back on top and Herb Dean stands them up with 22 seconds. Bocek's pants nearly fall down, and Nik tries to attack and gets booed. Lentz ends the round looking for a takedown. Another comfortable round for Bocek aside from the guillotine attempt, that should be 20-18 now.

Hominick says he has to give it up to Jung, and says he came out too reckless. He said he wanted to hit Jung who always has his hands down, and apologises to the fans.

Mike Goldberg tells us Jung has tied the UFC record for the fastest KO with Todd Duffee!

Welterweight bout: Brian Ebersole (170.5 lbs 48-14-1) vs Claude Patrick (171 lbs 14-1)

ROUND ONE Ebersole comes out and the ‘hairrow' is gone to be replaced with ‘TapouT' shaved on his chest. Okay then. They touch gloves and not much happens for 30 seconds, then Ebersole throws a body kick and shoots – Patrick goes for a guillotine, but Ebersole escapes well and they're up and clinching. Ebersole forces Patrick back to the cage, but Patrick reverses and throws a knee to the body for good measure. Patrick just clinching here as Ebersole reverses. Patrick defends, but he's pressed up against the cage and going nowhere fast. 30 seconds left. Ebersole trying to wear Patrick down. Patrick reverses, and a little dirty boxing, but time's up. Have to give that to Ebersole 10-9, but that was far from exciting…

Ebersole pushes Patrick to the fence, and a good elbow from Ebersole. Shot from Ebersole, but Patrick stays on his feet against the cage. Patrick has Ebersole against the fence now, with one minute left. Knee to the body by Ebersole. Ebersole gets a waistlock and reverses the position. Punches to the body from Ebersole. Good right by Patrick and another, hurts Ebersole, but Brian stuffs a takedown attempt. Ebersole pushes Patrick against the cage and that's done. Claude Patrick landed a few shots, Ebersole with most of the control. I'll give it to Patrick for doing (slightly) more damage. Boring round. 19-19.

ROUND THREE Ebersole shoots but Patrick sprawls well again, but as he works for a choke, Ebersole puts him on his back. Palm strikes to the back of the head from Patrick get a warning. Patrick to his feet again, but Ebersole still has the waistlock. Takes him down against the cage and gets a hook in. Ebersole starts striking. Ebersole out, and they're up to their feet. Ebersole has his mouth piece put in, and three uppercuts in a row from Patrick. Patrick landing body shots and a knee, Ebersole responds with a jab. Ebersole shoots and Patrick stuffs it and looks for a ‘Gator Roll. Ebersole gets out again and 10 seconds left. Ebersole looking for some ground and pound, as the horn goes. Ebersole disappointed. VERY tough round to score, very hard fight to score for that matter, but while Patrick tried to finish more in this round, I give it to Ebersole for the takedowns and the control and taking dominant positions time and again. Could be scored as anything, but I say Ebersole wins 29-28.

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Brian Ebersole by Split Decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

Rogan calls it a close, tough fight and the crowd boo like crazy. Ebersole says he was upset because he couldn't do what he wanted to, takedowns were hard to get, and he didn't get hit which is what he tries to achieve. Rogan talks through the choke attempts, Ebersole says the guillotine is a myth and the anaconda was a good attempt but not close as Patrick was tired. Ebersole is 3-0 in the UFC.

They show the knee to the body that dropped Tito and Rogerio says he throws very good knees and they show the body shots that finished the fight. He thanks his fans and dedicates the win to his 2 year old daughter.

Tito says Nogueira caught him in the exact same spot Rashad hurt him, and he says Nogueira is the 'real champ' and he hurt him. Tito says he should have more confidence in his hands and on the feet, but he likes the ground and pound. He says he gave it his all and Nogueira was the better fighter tonight. Rogan asks about retirement, and Tito says he's going to take time off and enjoy Christmas with his family and he hopes for the final fight on his UFC contract. Very, very classy.

That was an incredible hold from Jones, Machida just passed out on his feet.

They show the elbow that opened the gash on Machida's head. Jones says Machida didn't move a lot in spite of his BJJ black belt, and he connected. They show the guillotine, and Jones says he doesn't practice the move, it just comes natural. He said he needed to hold the position, and he knew Machida was asleep. He says his biggest supporter is Jesus. What a phenomenal performance.

Well ladies and gents, that is it from us as UFC 140 comes to a close, and what a phenomenal show that was! With six (yes, SIX) first round finishes, three second round finishes and only three decisions, this is a GREAT way for the UFC to approach 2012. With Jon "Bones" Jones looking like a world beater once more (though Machida more than held his own on the feet), Mir breaking Big Nog's arm, Li'l Nog smashing Tito Ortiz's ribs, and Chan Sung Jung blitzing Mark Hominick in 7 seconds, this has to go down as one of the very best cards of the year. Elsewhere, Dennis Hallman may have saved his job with a textbook grappling performance, Brian Ebersole remained undefeated in the UFC, and Igor Pokrajac and Costa Philippou showed why they're here. Just a great show, I hope you enjoyed our coverage here at 411mania.com and hope you'll join us again next time. From me, Jon Butterfield, have a great night everybody!

"There's no doubt, 10-9 to Machida! "

You'd be surprised, but 2 of the judges actually gave the round to Jones...

Big Nog should've just kept punching Mir in the head and ended it instead of trying to find a submission. Big mistake.

Yes he did. After his right arm snapped he tapped Mir's back with his left arm.

Big Nogs arm was clearly broken/snapped so the ref stopped the fight. So it's a TKO victory not a submission. Excellent card.

THE JONES ERA CONTINUES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rewatched the fight and he clearly tapped, didn't see it the first time. Jones v Rashad. Can't wait. Unless they do Jones v Henderson, which would be awesome.

Man just got back from the bar and the place was INSANE!!! This has been one of the best cards I've seen in a while and the fights were awesome! Jones is a beast but Machida showed (at least partially) how to stand against Jones. Stay away from those elbows not matter what!!!!

Say what you will about Mir, but the guy seems to be getting better. CroCop, Congo, Nelson and now Big Nog since the loss to Brock. I don't know if he's back in line for a title shot with one or two more wins like this, but boy owns two of the sickest breaks I've ever seen with tonight combined with the Sylvia fight.

omg machida you dumb fuck should of had atleast turn to the inside instead out worsening the twist jones had

and jesus christ Mir might just have stopped Big Nogs career cold

Tito is 1-6-1. Please don't give him another fight, no one wants to see him in UFC anymore. He currently holds the 2nd worst 8 fight record in UFC history.

They dont teach guys how to tap at the Blackhouse? Jesus Big'Nog, you career could be over. He let his PRIDE get in the way of being able to fight another day.

After a feeling out 1st round, Jones cut LMachida deep on the forehead then absolutely put LMachida to sleep. So much so, LMachida looked like he queefed from the mouth. But every fight, one more piece of the puzzle of how to beat Jones is revealed. LMachida was actually on to something by being able to rush in very quickly and get a clean hit. Credit to LMachida, giving up a 10in. reach disadvantage and still being able to get inside.

Great card, all the big fights had definitive endings.

Great job tonight JB!

Amazing show. This year for Jon Jones is probably one of the single greatest years for an MMA fighter ever.

I like how someone off the net thinks he knows more about fighting than machida who has been doing martial arts his whole life.

I'm no doctor, & maybe I'm blind, but it looked to me like his shoulder popped out of socket real bad. Hopefully his career isn't over.

FUCK!!! Wished I'd seen it. Too bad I had made other plans :(

Not clearly tapped. Took his arm breaking, but he tapped.

That wasn't a slump. He fell like a sack of potatoes.

What the hell is wrong with ppl being scared to tap? Not wanting to tap when you're being choked out. I can understand that, but letting someone break bones because you refuse to tap is idiotic. Now his dumbass is out longer than he should be

Yeah Nog tapped. Watch it again.

Nog didn't tap, his arm snapped and Herb Dean realized, too late btw, that the fight should be stopped.

Sure hope someone gets around to telling JBJ that there is no such word as "foughten." lol

Great fight. When Machita dropped I thought he was dead.

What was the one arm that wasnt snapped in half doing then? Sure looked like he was tapping saying please stop it hurts. Mir ownd Egg Nog.

Whats all this shit about Nog not tapping? Are you morons suggesting that the fight should've continued after Mir damn near ripped his arm off?

If they do not do something about the weight differences in heavyweight someone is going to get seriously injured or killed. Funny how there was a 30 pound difference in that fight yet if light heavy is 2 pounds over they cant fight. They need a heavyweight 230 cutoff and a super heavyweight class.

A night of many great and decisive finishes. I struggled to watch the replay of Mir submitting Nog - it was sick. And, for the record, Nog clearly tapped after Mir dismantled his arm.

does anyone find it a little worrying that frank mir resorts to actually injuring his opponents to beat them? this isn't the first and won't be the last bone he has broken. regardless of whether or not nog tapped. maybe a superheavyweight division is necessary to stop such accidents.

Sounds like a decent show.

Bones just put together the most impressive year for any UFC fighter ever. He has finished three consecutive former Light Heavyweight Champions. He is never going to be challenged until they find a physical match-up for him. He's just the perfect build to dominate his division.

No and no. And this is what happens when people get put in submissions and don't tap in time. That's why the submissions are so dangerous.

I didn't see this fight but I did watch Hughes vs. Gracie a few years ago. Hughes had Gracie in I believe the same hold but it was obvious Gracie would never tap, so he moved to something else to get the fight to end, rather than breaking the guy's arm. Afterwards he even mentioned that he knew Gracie wouldn't tap and he would have had to break his arm.

I didn't see this fight so was it a similar situation but Mir just didn't care or what?
