I didn't come here to tell you that so without further ado, let's make with the fussin' and a fightin'!

INTRODUCTION:


We are live at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil!

Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan are of course on the mic tonight as we go to the octagon for our first fight.

PRELIMINARY MATCH RESULTS


Cristiano Marcello defeats Reza Madadi via Decision, Split
Chris Camozzi defeats Luiz Cane via Decision, Unanimous
Sergio Moraes defeats Renee Forte via Submission, Rear Naked Choke
Diego Brandao defeats Joey Gambino via Decision, Unanimous
Gleison Tibau defeats Francisco Trinaldo via Decision, Unanimous
Rony Jason defeats Sam Sicilia via KO/TKO, Punches

PPV MATCHES


Welterweight bout: Demian Maia (170) vs. Rick Story (170)

ROUND ONE: Maia throws first but Story counters and lands a few more hard shots. Maia shoots for a single, Story fights him off to avail. Maia slams him down. Story tries to get back to his feet, using the cage for leverage. Maia slams him down again. Story tries to defend but Maia is able to achieve full mount. Maia peppers him with shots while advancing to his back. Story is defending against a rear-naked choke but he can't do it! Maia just scored his first submission win since 2009. Damn, Maia cut through him like a hot knife through butter. :::bows to Maia::: I take back all the negative things I've said about him since UFC 112.

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Demian Maia by submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:30 of round 1.

Though the official call was rear-naked choke, I believe he actually finished him with a neck crank.

Light Heavyweight bout: Phil Davis (206) vs. Wagner Prado (204)

ROUND ONE: Prado with lots of feints, trying to find his distance. He throws a high kick. Davis is using lots of movement but he isn't throwing much. They clash and release. Davis ducks a hook and tackles Prado to the ground. Davis works from the half guard position. Davis works for the rear-naked choke. Prado defends but can't get away. He tries to stand and Davis takes him down again. Davis lands two hard punches. Another big right hand from Phil Davis. Davis lands a knee. Prado stands up and Davis drives him back down again. Davis is putting on wrestling clinic.

SCORECARD: 10-9

ROUND TWO: Front kick from Davis. Prado returns fire but misses. Davis tries for a flying and converts to a takedown attempt. Prado tries to sprawl and falls to his rear. Prado gets back to his feet and breaks away. Davis shoots again. Davis gets to side control. Davis locks up the arm triangle but Prado escapes! Davis snaps up an anaconda choke and redeems himself! Nice work Mr. Wonderful!

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Phil Davis by submission (anaconda choke) at 4:29 of round 2.

The way this night is going, John Fitch is about KO Erik Silva in the first round!

Welterweight bout: Jon Fitch (170) vs. Erick Silva (169)

ROUND ONE: Fitch lands a low kick. Silva delivers a knee but gets taken down by Fitch. Silva tries to escape but Fitch tackles him and takes his back. Fitch punches Silva while holding on to his back. Fitch drives him back down again. Fitch attempts a standing arm triangle. Silva warned to let go of the fence. Silva breaks the hold. Silva delivers a front kick. Silva smashes him! They are clinched against the fence. Silva attempts to grap the fence again. Silva lands an elbow but is stunned with an uppercut. They clinch and Silva lands a knee but Fitch uses it for a single leg. Silva keeps grabbing the fence. Fitch is riding Silva's back as the round ends.

SCORECARD: Fitch 10-9

ROUND TWO: Silva looks for a huge hook but Fitch is dodging puches like a boss. Silva Thai trips Fitch! Silva loses his grip and ends up standing over Fitch. He's hammering on him! Fitch tries to grab a single leg. Fitch gets to his feet and Silva knees him. Fitch has Silva against the fence. Silva reverses position. Silva goes for the rear-naked choke! Fitch is in trouble! Fitch defends and turns into Silva. Fitch punches Silva a number of times before taking his back. Fitch gets an armbar! Silva narrowly avoids being submitted before the horn blows. Best. Fitch. Fight. Ever.

SCORECARD: Silva 10-9

ROUND THREE: Fitch immediately ties up Silva and take him down. Silva is exhausted. Fitch hammers on him as he slithers to his back to submit him. Fitch looks like he was trying for an inverted triangle, then an armbar but Silva escapes. Silva grabs a guillotine. Fitch defends and regains top position. He retakes his back. Silva looks mentally defeated. He's lying there, allowing Fitch to batter him. Fitch has full mount. Fitch is ground and pounding his way to an impressive victory. Erik Silva isn't tapping out but he doesn't look like he wants to continue. Silva stands up and sticks his head a guillotine to end the fight as time expires.

SCORECARD: Fitch 10-8

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – John Fitch by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28X).

Well it wasn't a finish but I'll be damned if that isn't a fight of the night contender.

Light Heavyweight bout: Fabio Maldonado (203) vs. Glover Teixeira (204)

ROUND ONE: Teixeira slips a few punches and drops Maldonado with a left hook. Teixeira smashes on Maldonado! He mounts him and keeps up the onslaught! Glover rains down punches, hammerfists and elbows. Maldonado is nearly KO'ed! Teixeira attempts an arm triangle! Teixeira gives it up and resumes hammering him from full mount. Maldonado escapes and gets to his feet. They go punch for punch drunken boxing style! Teixeira eats a head kick nearly drops him! They trade until the round ends!

SCORECARD: Teixeira 10-8

ROUND TWO: Teixeira immediately takes him down with a double! He works him over until Maldonado gets back to his feet again. Teixeira eats few punches on his way to another double leg. Glover gets full mount. Maldonado shrimps out and pushes Glover into half guard. Glover continues to brutalize Maldonado. Not enough action for the ref so they are stood up. The fight is paused to check on Maldonado's face, which is mangled. The fight is allowed to continue. Teixeira lands a left. Another left stuns Maldonado before the round ends.

SCORECARD: 10-8 Teixeira

The doctor has stopped the fight due to excessive facial damage. Sheesh, no wonder Shogun and Rampage are afraid to fight this guy~!

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Glover Teixeira by TKO (doctor stoppage) at 5:00 of round 2.


Heavyweight bout: Dave Herman (244) vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (243)

ROUND ONE: Herman throws two kicks and then hip tosses Big Nog. He stands back up. Nog sticks his left in Herman's face. Herman delivers a pair of knees and kick to the body. Nog clinches and pushes Herman against the fence. Nog lands an overhand right. Nog clinches and forces Herman against the fence. Nog tries to take him down. Nog lands a hard punch on his chin.

SCORECARD: Herman 10-9

ROUND TWO: Nog opens up and smacks Herman. He drops him on his ass! Nog gets to half guard. He tries for a Key lock but Herman gets away. Nog is trying for an armbar. Herman gets back to his feet. They clash and Herman throws him down. Herman stands back up. Herman kind of lands a flying knee. He takes a shot in the chin. They both go to the ground Big Nog mercilessly ends this one with an armbar.

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira by submission (armbar) at 4:31 of round 2.

NON-TITLE THREE ROUND MAIN EVENT


Light Heavyweight bout: Anderson Silva (202) vs. Stephan Bonnar (205)

ROUND ONE: Bonnar comes out swinging! Anderson trips over himself running away. Bonnar presses him against the fence. Bonnar lands a few shots on the inside. Bonnar lands an elbow and more punches to the face. Silva reverses position but Bonnar switches back. Bonnar backs off of him. Silva stays against the cage, baiting Bonnar. Bonnar throws a kick and Silva easily side steps it. Bonnar keeps up the pressure while attempting another takedown. Silva is pretty much letting Bonnar try and hit him, just to make it interesting. Bonnar comes forward, takes a vicious knee in the chest and drops to a fetal position. Silva finishes him off on the ground with punches and that's the end. Well at least he tried.

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER - Anderson Silva by TKO at 4:40 of round 1.
