Featherweight Bout: Frank Buenafuente (145.8) Bill Algeo (145.6)

ROUND ONE: Buenafuente starts with some leg kicks. Algeo lands a big knee and follows up with ground and pound! Buenafuente survives and recovers. Buenafuente takes Algeo down. Buenafuente tries for a submission but Algeo gets back to his feet. They tie up against the fence. Algeo attempts a guillotine but Buenafuente easily escapes. Buenafuente slams him down. Algeo gets to his feet but Buenafuente stays with him. Algeo his him with another knee but can't shake him off. Algeo tries for a triangle but Buenafuente defends. Algeo reverses position and gets on top. Buenafuente looks for a kimura from the bottom. Algeo ends the round with some ground and pound.

SCORECARD: Buenafuente 10-9

ROUND TWO: Algeo comes out jabbing with his right hand. He catches Buenafuente coming in for a takedown. Buenafuente puts him on his back. Algeo reverses position and gets to side control. Buenafuente tries for a reverse triangle but Algeo slips out. Algeo goes for a kimura but Buenafuente defends. Buenafuente works from top position. Algeo reverses and gets side control for himself. Elbows from the top from Algeo. Algeo takes his back and attempts a rear-naked choke. Buenafuente taps out!

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Bill Algeo by submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:36 of round 2.

Lightweight Bout: Brenson Hansen (150) vs. Tom Marcellino (150)

ROUND ONE: Both fighters come out exchanging punches. Hansen kicks him in the cup. Marcellino lands a body kick. Jump knee from Hansen. Marcellino lands a shot, Hansen stumbles and Marcellino closes in on him. Hansen recovers and resumes kickboxing with Marcellino. Hansen pops him with a hard overhand right. Hansen is looking for a KO punch. Marcellino lands a leg kick and eats a left hand. There's a brief wild exchange of punches. Hansen throws a high kick, Marcellino side steps it and knocks him on his duff. Hansen recovers and gets to his feet. Hansen blasts Marcellino and knocks him down! He pounces on him for the kill. Marcellino recovers and gets to his feet as the round comes to a close.

SCORECARD: Hansen 10-9

ROUND TWO: The fighters begin with an exchange of leg kicks. Hansen stuns Marcellino with a straight right. Marcellino tags him back and then tries for a single. Marcellino tries to climb on his back while pressing him to the cage. Hansen gets away from him. Hansen knocks him down and nearly gets to full mount. Hansen beats him up on the ground but Marcellino gets back to his feet. Marcellino throws a right hook. Hansen clobbers Marcellino with a shot behind the ear! Hansen Donkey Kongs him going for the win but Marcellino hangs in there! He gets back to his feet but Hansen is still on him. JUMPING KNEE KO! BAM SON! Nice finish!

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Brenson Hansen by TKO at 3:24 of round 2.

Welterweight Bout: Ozzy Dugulubgov (160.1) vs. Chris Wade (160.8)

ROUND ONE: CHRIS WADE STRONG ISLAND WHOO! Moving right along...Dugulubgov starts off with a pair of hard head kicks that have Wade thinking twice about his game plan. Wade throws a leg kick and is caught again with a head kick. They tie up against the fence. Ozzy presses him against the fence. Wade knees to the body and breaks the clinch. Wade slips throwing a head kick. Ozzy blocks a takedown and presses him to the fence. Ozzy takes him down. Ozzy works to pass the guard. Wade is trying to shrimp out from underneath him. Wade gets to his feet but is met with a pair of punches. Ozzy smashes him again with a hard left. Wade front kicks Ozzy into the fence. Wade misses with a pair of kicks and the round ends.

SCORECARD: Dugulubgov 10-9

ROUND TWO: Both fighters kick to the body. Ozzy catches Wade ducking and kicks him hard. Wade is still pressing forward despite taking some hard shots. Wade takes him down. Ozzy scrambles and gets side control. Ozzy is bullying Wade on the ground. He's not able to launch a damaging attack but the short shots are adding up. Ozzy is working for an arm triangle. Wade pushes him back to full guard. Wade has impeded Ozzy progress but that's all he can accomplish.

SCORECARD: Dugulubgov 10-9

ROUND THREE: They exchange high kicks but Wade falls over. Ozzy takes him down. Ozzy tenderizes him from full guard. Wade gets to his knees but Ozzy spins around and tries to take his back. Ozzy puts him on his back but Wade tries for a kimura. Ozzy defends and resumes peppering Wade with punches, hammer fists and knees. Wade grabs for Ozzy's leg. Ozzy gets away. Wade throws a high kick. Ozzy tackles Wade but Wade rolls and goes for a guillotine! Ozzy gets his head out with 45 seconds left in the fight. Ozzy controls him until the end. Strong Island gets dominated and I'm a sad panda.

SCORECARD: Dugulubgov 10-9

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Ozzy Dugulubgov by unanimous decision (30-27X3).

Welterweight Bout: Igor Gracie (170.7) vs. Richard Patishnock (170)

ROUND ONE: stream went out and didn't come back until the final minute of the fight

SCORECARD: Gracie 10-9

In the final moments of the first round Gracie was dumped from rear mount onto his should and appeared to have severely injured it. The ringside doctor and his corner have alled the fight.

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Richard Patishnock TKO at 5:00 of round 1.

Featherweight Bout: Cameron Dollar (144.6) vs. Waylon Lowe (146.2)

ROUND ONE: Lowe comes out swinging. Lowe circles around. Dollar moves in and gets hammered. Dollar jabs at Lowe and he backs up into the fence before circling out. Lowe rushes forward and lands an overhand right. Despite having the longer reach, Dollar isn't able to land much. Lowe lands a pair of hard lefts. Lowe pressures him again and BAM! KO with a left hook. Height and reach advantage my fanny!

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Waylon Lowe by KO at 2:58 of round 1.

Featherweight Bout: Rick Glenn (145.4) vs. Alexandre Pimentel (146)

ROUND ONE: Pulga lands a leg kick and Glenn counters with a jab. Side kick from Pulga. Glenn is looking for a solid counter punch. Pulga throws a kick, Glenn catches it. Pulga takes him down finally. Pulga leaps up to land a punch, Glenn flips over and Pulga takes his back. Glenn gets to his feet. Pulga takes him down again. Glenn tries to scramble out but Pulga locks him his shoulder. Pulga keeps the arm locked up and adds a choke to the mix! Glenn pushes out but Pulga grabs a rear-naked choke to end the round.

SCORECARD: Pimentel 10-9

ROUND TWO: Glenn looks to land the overhand right! Pulga shoots, it's blocked. They tie up against the fence. Glenn ducks a big left from Pulga. Glenn counters a kick with a left. Glenn lands a hard left. Glenn is doing damage with his jab. Pulga knocks him down with a hard shot. Pulga takes his back again...here we go! Glenn defends and pulls out of his but he leaves himself open to a toehold. Glenn gets back to his feet. Glenn uses this opportunity to his advantage as he lays on the strikes. Pulga responds with strikes of his own before the bell sounds.

SCORECARD: Pimentel 10-9

ROUND THREE: Glenn turns up the volume, throwing a series of punches. He connects on the chin. Pulga ties him up and presses him against the fence. Glenn separates and WHAMMO! Right hook and Left uppercut sends Pulga crashing to the canvas! Ground and pound from Glenn and we are done. Huzzah for boxing!

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Rick Glenn by KO at 1:51 of round 3.


Middleweight Bout: Kris McCray (185) vs. Danillo Villefort (185.4)

ROUND ONE: McCray lands a body kick and they tie up. McCray knees Villefort in the abdomen. McCray slams him down. McCray is staying chest to chest and hitting him with short shots. He stands up and throws a diving punch at Villefort. Villefort keeps him in full guard but that leaves McCray open to keep hitting him. Villefort looks for the armbar but McCray stands up and gets out of it. McCray lands a hard knee. Villefort starts to unload on a tired McCray. Villefort smashes him into the fence. McCray recovers and gets to his feet. McCray stuns Villefort but Villefort drops McCray to end the round.

SCORECARD: McCray 10-9

ROUND TWO: McCray comes straight across and presses Villefort agains the fence. McCray takes him down. McCray peppers him with punches from full guard. Villefort attacks the arm from the bottom. McCray defends and keeps hammering. McCray proceeds to half guard. He takes his back and tries for a rear-naked choke. Villefort stands up but McCray throws him back down. However, upon landing, Villefort gets to top position. Villefort and McCray scramble for superior position and run ouf of time.

SCORECARD: McCray 10-9

ROUND THREE: McCray comes out jabbing. Villefort hits a knee as he comes in. They grapple against the fence. Villefort trips him to the mat. Villefort is in top position early in the third round. McCray defends from the bottom and gets back to his feet. McCray tries to take him down but Villefort fights him off. Villefort drops McCray! He presses his advantage. McCray recovers and they end up rolling against the fence. Villefort hits a back elbow. McCray attempts a takedown and is stuffed. Straight left from Villefort lands. McCray tries to take him down again but is exhausted.

SCORECARD: Villefort 10-9

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Danillo Villefort by split decision (29-28 McCray 29-28X2 Villefort).

That was a close fight and pretty entertaining to boot. I'm fine with the result as it could have gone either way.



MAIN TELEVISED CARD MATCHES:


Lightweight Bout: Gesias Cavalcante (156) vs. Justin Gaethje (155.6)

ROUND ONE: JZ gets off first. Gaethje meets him in the center with strikes of his own. They are going punch for punch and kick for kick. Gaethje stuns JZ and now JZ is bleeding. Left and right hooks from Gaethje but he slips and falls. Overhand right from Gaethje! They clinch and Gaethje lands a knee the belly. Knee to the head followed by a grazing uppercut. JZ is getting mauled! The ref pauses to have the doc check out JZ. Jesus...JZ looks like HBK kicked him through the barbershop window. OH MY! The doctor checks the cut above the eye and YOU CAN SEE SKULL! Yep, we're done.

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Justin Gaethje by TKO (dr stoppage) at 2:27 of round 1.

Welterweight Bout: Josh Burkman (170) vs. Aaron Simpson (171)

ROUND ONE: Burkman is the first to land. Simpson rushes forward and presses Burkman against the fence. Burkman knees him repeatedly and turns him around. He separates after a straight right. He catches Simpson coming in. Simpson misses with the right and ties up again. Simpson is already bloody. Front kick from Simpson. Burkman catches him coming in again! Leg kick from Burkman. Burkman tees off on Simpson with a series of rights and finishes him off with a knee to the mush! Josh Burkman vs Jon Fitch WSOF 3 June 14th FEEL THE HEAT!!!

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Josh Burkman by KO at 3:04 of round 1.

Middleweight Bout: Dave Branch (185.2) vs. Paulo Filho (184.5)

ROUND ONE: Filho walks through a leg kick. Branch jabs several times before taking him down. Branch works him over from the half guard position. Branch pounds on his ribs. Branch nearly punches his way to full mount. Filho for his part cannot get from underneath Branch. Branch brutalizes Filho until he is stopped by the bell.

SCORECARD: Branch 10-8

ROUND TWO: Filho throws a high kick and falls over. Branch resumes beating him senseless. Branch takes him down but not for long. Filho gets to his feet and the ref eventually recenters them. Branch takes him down again. Branch has him in a crucifix of sorts and he's hammering away on him. Bas and Harris don't know why this hasn't been stopped yet. Branch keeps moving in and out of side control. Again, Branch mauls him until the end.

SCORECARD: Branch 10-8

ROUND THREE: Branch picks up where he left off. He immediately knocks Filho down and resumes pounding on him. Branch is now hammering the left side of Filho's torso. He's mixing in there some short elbows. All Filho is doing holding on to Branch. They are stood up. Filho stumbles after another leg kick. Branch clinches and throws some knees. Head kick from Branch. Another takedown attempt (why?). Thankfully we're done. That was a chore.

SCORECARD: Branch 10-8

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Dave Branch by unanimous decision (30-27X2, 30-26).

WSOF 2 CO-MAIN EVENT


Bantamweight Bout: Marlon Moraes (135.5) vs. Tyson Nam (135.2)

ROUND ONE: Moraes is the first to get off. He throws a combination of kicks and punches. He's really going after the lead leg of Nam. Nam can't seem to get inside. Each time he moves in Moraes catches him. Moraes lands a left hook. More kicks from Moraes. Nam blocks a takedown. Nam is starting to land leg kicks. Moraes launches a high head kick and BOOM! Down goes Nam! He finishes up with punches and we're done!

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Marlon Moraes by KO at 2:55 of round 1.

WSOF 2 MAIN EVENT


Heavyweight Bout: Andrei Arlovski (245.5) vs. Anthony Johnson (230.2)

ROUND ONE: Arlovski comes out with a few leg kicks. Johnson lands few leg kicks. Johnson back Arlovski with a few hooks. Johnson launches two head kicks. Arlovski lands front kick. Another head kick from Johnson. Arlovski starting to land more now. Johnson attempts a takedown. They grapple against the fence. The ref stands them up. Both fighters pick up the pace and try to finish each other. Johnson tries another takedown but Arlovski presses him against the cage. They are separated. Johnson drops Arlovksi! The bell sounds before Johnson can finish him off.

SCORECARD: Johnson 10-9

ROUND TWO: Front kick from Arlovski. Johnson lands a head kick and follows with a left hook. He lands another. Johnson goes for a takedown. They are stood up. Arlovski lands the one-two combo. Johnson is clobbering Arlovski. Arlovski is landing as well but Johnson is walking through his offense. Arlovski lands a series of knees to the body. Arlovski knees him in the nuts. Johnson recovers and re-enters the fight. He starts winging punches! Johnson takes Arlovski down. Johnson controls him until the round is over.

SCORECARD: Johnson 10-9

ROUND THREE: Johnson and Arlovski resume their exciting stand-up affair. Johnson starts to get the better of him! Johnson shoots for another takedown. They are stood up. Johnson throws a head but it is blocked. Johnson walks through a spinning back kick. Johnson appears to be gassed. He lunges at Arlovski. Arlovski turns him around. Arlovski backs off and Johnson tags him...and then shoots for a takedown. Johnson eats a few coming in. Johnson grabs a leg as the round comes to a conclusion.

SCORECARD: Johnson 10-9

OFFICIAL RESULT: WINNER – Anthony Johnson by unanimous decision (29-28X3).

What round did AA win...oh never mind.
