411's UFC 81: Breaking Point Report 02.02.08
Posted by Michael Huckaby on 02.03.2008

We're live from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Tyson Griffin vs Gleison Tibau

The great JZ Calvancante is cornering Tibau. Tyson Griffin becomes the 211th person to come out to "Eye of the Tiger."

Round 1: They touch gloves and we're underway. Tibau takes the center of the Octagon with Tyson circling. TIbau looks to be the MUCH bigger, stronger fighter and doesn't look like a lightweight at all. They exchange some leg kicks and single punches before Tibau throws a flying knee which half connects. Wild swing by Tibau just misses as they continue to exchange single shots and feel each other out. Tibau is throwing some big punches but they're missing as Griffin finally clinches and we're up against the cage. They're over/under and switching positions as Tibau looks for the takedown and briefly gets it but Griffin pops back up immediately and we're standing in the center with two minutes left. Nice right hand connects by Griffin as he follows up with three or four more which might win him the round. Griffin super aggressive and lands three or four big shots on Tibau who gets sick of it and shoots in like a rocket with a huge takedown. They're back up to the feet with Griffin looking for a leg takedown. Griffin tries to throw a knee against the cage but Tibau uses his momentum to take him to the ground. End of the first round. Incredibly close round but that flurry by Griffin wins it for me, could go either way. 411 scores it 10-9 for Tyson Griffin.

Round 2: They exchange some missed shots before Griffin rushes Tibau against the cage. After some work they separate and we're back in the center. The two exchange big punches in a fun exchange but both men have solid chins. Tibau again with a quick takedown out of nowhere and he takes Griffin's back on the ground but again Griffin pops right back to his feet halfway through the round. Nice left by Tibau responded in kind with a counter right by Griffin. They exchange kicks to the body at the same time, these two have been on the same page several times thus far. The crowd starting to get semi-restless as they're circling and throwing missed shots as Tibau again dives in for the takedown and Griffin hops up again. End of round. I have no idea who won that round, 411 scores it a 10-10 draw.

Round 3: They again exchange missed shots as this fight has been rather bland. Tibau with his fourth big takedown of the fight and this might win him the judges' favor in a close decision. Tibau finally gets upper body control on the ground as Griffin for once does not pop right out and up to his feet. Little action as Tibau is just trying to maintain control and isn't doing anything major. Griffin finally hops back up to his feet and again we're circling in the center halfway through the final round. Excellent left uppercut by Griffin but Tibau gets another takedown off of it. Back to the feet again with Griffin landing a couple more big punches, this fight is the definition of split decision. Griffin with a body lock against the cage and some foot stomps but Tibau looks too big for Griffin to take down. Tibau goes on offense in the body lock and takes control looking for a takedown of his own with 10 seconds left in the fight. End of the fight. Completely even round again, this is the definition of a draw. 411 scores it again, 10-10, 30-29 overall for Tyson Griffin and that first round was razor thin either way.

Winner: Tyson Griffin, unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

The crowd boos. Three judges scoring it 30-27 is absolutely ridiculous.

The UFC 82 commercial highlights Silva vs Henderson and of all fights Kongo vs Herring. On a card featuring Evan Tanner vs Yushin Okami, Andrei Arlovski, Diego Sanchez, Josh Koscheck, Jon Fitch, and others they highlight Kongo/Herring as the second main event.

Ricardo Almeida vs Rob Yundt

Yundt took this fight for an injured Alan Belcher on three days notice. Yundt apparently tried out for the next The Ultimate Fighter season so his medicals were already on record allowing him to take this fight. So they're showing a guy on a main card UFC PPV that couldn't make the 32-man field for The Ultimate Fighter 7?

Round 1: They touch gloves and we're underway. A couple nice body shots by Almeida as the two men gauge their distance. Almeida shoots in and gets the takedown right against the cage. Yundt pops up and leaves his head out there so Almeida slaps on a guillotine. Yundt picks him up and slams him but Almeida retains position and gets the tap at 1:08 of the opening round.

Winner: Ricardo Almeida, submission (guillotine choke), Rd1

Nathan Marquardt vs Jeremy Horn

Round 1: They hesitantly tap gloves and we're underway and immediately locked up. Marquardt gets the takedown and is in Horn's full guard. Marquardt rains down 3 or 4 huge hands which hurt Horn and looked like they could end the fight but Horn keeps his composure. Marquardt pushes Horn's head up against the cage and stands over him, backing up and allowing him up. Marquardt lands a shot and we're locked up in the center again and eventually Marquardt ends up on top on the ground after a failed throw by Horn. Horn back up to his feet and immediately looks for the takedown but Marquardt with great defense and we're clinched against the cage. Beautiful elbow by Marquardt might end the fight as Horn drops down to his knees and holds on to Nate. Marquardt with two or three short elbows but Horn works back to his guard. Marquardt, as he's known for, stands over Horn looking for a shot but can't land anything. Horn works for a quick omoplata and gets it with only ten seconds left in the round. Horn uses the move for a sweep and gets top position to end the first round. 411mania scores it 10-9 for Nate Marquardt.

Round 2: Leg kick by Horn starts the round and we're immediately on the ground with Horn on top position. Horn is holding Marquardt down and trying to improve position rather than throwing anything. Marquardt has a medium cut over his eye but nothing that would stop the fight. They get back to standing and when Horn goes for the takedown Marquardt lands a standing guillotine. Horn tries to fight out and spin to the ground but he can't break free and is forced to tap out.

Winner: Nate Marquardt, submission (guillotine choke), Rd2

David Heath vs Tim Boetsch

Action from the preliminary card before we get to the double main event.

Round 1: They touch and we're underway. They feel each other out with nothing being thrown for the first minute as the crowd grows restless. Nice kick combo by Heath but nothing lands solidly. Great front kick by Boetsch, who shoots in for a takedown but Heath throws him off. Another great front kick by Boetsch who has taken center Octagon position. Beautiful knee to the head by Boetsch and those front kicks have made a welt on Heath's stomach. They exchange jabs but Boetsch gets the better of it prior to another front kick. Nice leg kick by Heath but he eats three or four shots from everywhere by Boetsch before counter striking himself. Nice striking exchange by both men. Boetsch gets ahold of Heath's head and lands three or four knees before Heath is able to back away. Body shot and knee by Boetsch as he's punishing Heath. Boetsch grabs Heath's body and literally throws him right onto his head, pretty much knocking him out. Herb Dean gives Heath a chance but he's eating solid punches and the fight is stopped with ten seconds left.

Winner: Tim Boetsch, TKO (strikes), Rd1

Brock Lesnar vs Frank Mir

They show Kurt Angle in the crowd with the caption "TNA World Champion" as well as The Undertaker and Steve Austin. I've never seen a guy as fit as Brock Lesnar at the 265lb weight limit.

Round 1: Half boos and half cheers from the crowd for Lesnar and we're underway. Lesnar immediately gets the takedown and we're in the center of the cage. Lesnar throwing big leather but the referee stops the fight saying Lesnar was landing big shots to the back of the head. Lesnar is penalized one point, which is odd because he didn't get a warning and it didn't look intentional. Restarted, Lesnar lands a hard shot which drops Mir and begins slamming down hammerfists. Mir almost hooked on an arm but Lesnar powers out and he's in a top dominate position. Lesnar stands over Mir and Mir uses the opportunity to lock up a leg out of nowhere from his back. Lesnar falls down to the ground and taps out immediately.

Winner: Frank Mir, submission (kneebar), Rd1

Lesnar was too aggressive against a great BJJ practitioner as he was looking to finish against all regards.

HW Title: Tim Sylvia vs Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira

And again Nog doesn't come out to his normal PRIDE entrance of "No Way Out" by ZZ which should be a crime. Cecil Peoples is a judge, just keep that in mind as the rounds add up.

Round 1: Nog starts with a leg kick and the question is if Nog will decide to stand with him. Another leg kick by Nogueira but Sylvia lands a nice right hand. Nog clutches Tim and falls to his back but Tim stands right back up and we're standing in the center again. A couple nice jabs by Sylvia but Nog responds with a nice right before going for a takedown again. Jab by Nog, uppercut by Sylvia, and we're two minutes in. Big right hand by Sylvia takes Nog down as Tim pounces looking for the finish. Realizing he's not going to finish, Sylvia stands back up and we're standing. Nog is in real trouble and just looking to be on the ground, blood coming out of his left eye. Sylvia lands a couple of elbows and if he doesn't sense a finish he needs to stand back up. Sylvia does indeed stand back up and Nog against fails at a takedown and eats a punch. Another takedown by Nog fails and he's getting dominated. Nice right-left by Nog as Sylvia backs him up against the cage. Nog gets a takedown finally but the round ends. 411mania scores it 10-9 for Tim Sylvia.

Round 2: Nog starts by going for a takedown and fails again. Nice left hook by Sylvia followed by a right straight and we're pretty much set on how the rest of this fight is going to go. Nog eats another left jab and fails at another takedown. Two more nice shots by Sylvia as Nog, even though improving, still can't strike with someone like Big Tim. Nog fails at another takedown as Tim throws three or four big punches that miss their mark. This entire round is just Nog failing at takedowns and eating random punches from Tim. Nog goes for a big takedown and actually gets Tim up against the cage this time. He has a single leg but Tim fights it off and we're standing again. They exchange big punches but neither man seems hurt, neither Nog or Sylvia have been knocked out in their MMA careers. We end the second round in a stalemate. 411mania scores it 10-9 for Tim Sylvia.

Round 3: Great right hand by Sylvia but Nog doesn't look any worse for the wear. Nog with another takedown attempt and again it fails. Nog goes for a takedown but immediately pulls guard and looks to control Tim's body and stop him from getting back to his feet. Nog sweeps Sylvia with nice control and gets to side position with still 3:40 left in the round. Nog pops on a guillotine and Tim taps, we have a new interim UFC Heavyweight Champion.

Winner: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, submission (guillotine choke), Rd3

As always Nog seems to find a way to win even when he's getting dominated.

I'm dissapointed to hear Lesnar lost, but hopefully he's learned something from that fight.

What the hell happened I think Brock threw the fight!!!!!!

Posted By: guest (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 01:26 AM

I'd like to see Mir v Nog and Sylvia v Lesnar now.

Posted By: Guest#0068 (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 01:32 AM

"threw the fight" ?

What happened here is that Lesnar showed the world how unexperimented how was and Mir saw an opportunity to make him tap and trust me he did it the BIG WAY .

Brock looked good though and he was facing a FORMER UFC HEAVY CHAMP !

He definitively has potential, especially if he is asking someone like Couture to train him properly .

As for BIG NOG , MTFO TIME .

What he did tonight was truly reminiscent of his amazing submission of Mirko Filipovic a few years ago .

He got beaten out like a real punch bag, and finally after more than two rounds of it came on top and made Big Timmy QUICKLY tapping out like a bitch !

Was frickin SWEET PEOPLE !!!!!

Now let's make it happen DANA

BIG NOG vs CAPTAIN A

Randy won't back that one up TWICE NOW !!!!!

damn brizock...not even two rounds...make wrestlers look weak..

I love Nog so much. So so much.

Posted By: Michael Huckaby (Registered)  on February 03, 2008 at 01:38 AM

even though lezbo lost, he looked very dangerous. i think he could beat ANY heavy weight except Big Nog or Mir, Mir was battered after one barrage.

Posted By: hunkgolden (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 01:44 AM

Damn Right Michael !

Nog is frickin fantastic, a submission artist like no one else .

This IS the guy who has never ever gotten "ko'ed" or "submitted" in his whole career

He would be a tremendous challenge for Captain A

Posted By: Kyle Hyde (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 01:45 AM

Thats nice in theory and all but I still say Brock threw the fight, I mean who taps out to a foot tickle or toe wiggle.

Posted By: Guest (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 01:50 AM

brock just needs the right training and the experience. he will bounce back and be a monster if he joins the right camp.

Posted By: timepants (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 01:53 AM

GREAT CARD. 2 straight great ppv cards in 08. aside from that boring fight night, this has been a great year so far for ufc.

Posted By: adam (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 01:58 AM

Who would tap out to a deadly KNEE BAR ?

YOU WOULD man and if not you would get what brock would have gotten here, a broken arm and months to rehab himself afterwards .

He did the right thing to save his health and Mir is well known to be a submission master and shown that to the world tonight .

People who are bashing Lesnar for tapping out against a FORMER UFC HEAVY CHAMP don't have a single clue about what MMA is all about really.....

Posted By: Kyle Hyde (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 02:02 AM

brock came to fight not to be stopped the ufc sucks

Posted By: tommy gop (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 02:04 AM

Toe wiggle? It's called a knee bar. It's one of the nastiest submissions. As for Brock getting penalized, when someone with hands that big lands several blows to the back of the head, he dosen't deserve a warning. He could have knocked Mir out with those illegal blows. What an awesome victory for Mir.

Posted By: DanMan (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 02:05 AM

HUHHH!!!!! So apparently a knee bar will break your arm??? What kind of backwards crazy world are we living in??

Posted By: Guest (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 02:08 AM

Ladies and gentlemen we have a very special guest with us today. Dan The Man president of the Frank Mir butt kissing fan club.

Posted By: Guest (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 02:14 AM

Yeah Frank's one of my favorite fighters. Always has been. And Frank showed great composure tonight, because he took a lot of hard shots from Brock and still secured a deadly submission. If you can't give credit for that, you're an idiot.

Posted By: DanMan (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 02:28 AM

no F5??????

Posted By: ummfada (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 02:31 AM

I thought it was really odd that Mazzagati didn't give Brock a warning, it was just an immediate point deduction and both fighters were like WTF? when he jumped in. When they showed the reply Brock landed ONE punch to the back of the head and then another to the side of the head when Mir turtled over and Mazzagatti immediately jumped in. I think he had a vendetta against Brock; anyone else notice the "fist tap" between him and Mir at the start of the fight? It's something else that stuck out as being a little weird as I watched it, I don't know why. At any rate Brock looked incredibly strong in there and had he not been stood back up I think it could have been an even shorter fight, only siding in Brock's favor. Oh well, hopefully they build him up the right way now as he can't really afford to drop more fights.

just like he did with football, brock will quit because the results werent wat he wanted

Posted By: God (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 02:38 AM

The Mir/Lesnar match went PERFECTLY how I wanted it: Brock showed that he belonged there, but Mir showed how green Lesnar was. Brock himself admitted that he needs more training, but for a minute there he made us all believe that it might be possible for him to beat Mir. What's more important is that he was explosive and exciting to watch, which is SO much more then we can say about Tim "The Beer Break" Sylvia.

Both fights ended with showcases of experience and creative thinking, bravo to Mir and Big Nog.

Posted By: AVD (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 03:09 AM

Ummm, how were the results not what he wanted? Sure he lost but do you really think Brock objects to looking like a complete beast beforehand? He was dominating Mir before he got caught in the heel hook. Besides if he was the type to give up easily he wouldn't have had the drive to become an NCAA champion in the first place you blasphemous nitwit!

Posted By: Craig (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 04:47 AM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFKN6HLZal4

Youtube link that works for now Mir vs Brock.

I think that match made Brock look like a monster, he got beaten with a veteran move, no shame in that.

Question to DanMan, how is it a fair ruling JUST because Brock has bigger hands? That makes no sense to me, the rules dictate a warning and even Rogan and the other commentator said.. Interesting...

Oh and Nog huzzah!

Posted By: Joshifan (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 06:57 AM

you guys dont post the undercard fights that came on afterwards???

Posted By: Chris (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 07:18 AM

It was a great fight, and it will be awesome to see Lensar's second one. Now he knows what he is in against, as much as he hates to admit it, he cannot be so aggressive in the opening segments and just leave himself open like that. Everything about them has pretty much been covered, so I'm going to give credit to the rest of the guys that fought on this card, Tyson Griffin vs Gleison Tibau was an awesome opener that had both guys throwing and landing some nasty punches, and neither guy backing an inch. Then we have Ricardo Almeida vs Rob Yundt showcase that crazy flipping guillotine choke where Ricardo landed on his damn head, and just flipped it right into his favor. The rest of the tapouts tonight were all guillotines as well, ecxept Lesnar (the dude has no freakin neck). Whole card was awesome tonight.

Posted By: Chris (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 07:34 AM

It would be much funnier if Mir used an ankle lock instead of a knee bar.

Posted By: pete (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 08:15 AM

The strangest thing - nobody mentioned that Big Nog was beaten 2 twice by Fedor Yemelyanenko. Let see how good is Capt. America - let's him beat Big Nog at least once and than maybe Cro Cop and after would be the time to meat Fedor

Posted By: Ben (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 09:11 AM

Actually, DanMan Mr. Hard up for Mir, a warning is actually in the guidelines of the rules. You get a warning for anything that cannot be misconstrued as intentional. Mir was turning into it, which is a common tactic that BJJ guys do on the ground. Brock deserved a verbal warning, then next time a point taken then after that DQ'ed. Get off Mir's balls, man. He's a great fighter and weathered the storm of those hammerfists -- and I give him all the credit in the world -- but your bullshit "size of his hands argument" is just plain stupid.

i play ufc fantasy they screwed me i picked antonio win by choke 3rd round 2nd minute and i didnt get the minute! i wanted rock to win but i put frank to win by armlock 1st round

The call was sh*t and looked like a ref vendetta to me. Don't forget that the point deduction cost Lesnar a dominant position.

Having said that he just needs more training and experience. He let his guard down and got caught.

Anyone can hate on anyone but Brock is a true destroyer, taking nothing away from Mir either. I agree with whoever said bashing Lesnar for tapping means you don't know what it's like to have a guy like that put you in a hold like that.

Posted By: someguy (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 10:45 AM

sounds like Brock got screwed. Since when does the ref stop a fight when a guy gets taken down.

Posted By: Guest#7070 (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 10:47 AM

PS it almost looks to me like the ref waited an extra second to call it after Lesnar tapped...does Lesnar owe him money or something?

Posted By: someguy (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 10:47 AM

Yes Mir there is a Santa Claus
Body: I was checking out ufc 81. The big fight was Frank mir vs Brock lesnar. I know Mir won in 90 seconds. However It was only Lesnars second MMA fight. If he had pulled his leg away just a wee bit sooner all those fans would have been pissed because mir would have gotten his ass beat. Mir is a former ufc champion and for 85 of those 90 seconds Brock treated him like a prison bitch. took him down in seven seconds. Pummeled his face for 20 shots and the ref made them stand up because brock acidentaly hit him in hte back of the head once, AND HE RECEIVED NO WARNING. The ref just made them stand up. If had gotten a warning instead of being made to seperate mir would have lost. Simple as that. My favorite was the arm bar brock simply said no get the fuck offf me and powered out. laughed my ass off. I love ufc and professional wrestling alike. But for all the people to say that that put Brock in his place are sadly mistaken. With a little more caution and respect for the sport under his belt I feel for the next guy brock has to face

Posted By: x-0816 (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 10:52 AM

The verbal warning is usually bypassed if the illegal move in question, even though unintentional, causes damage to the opponent.

Posted By: John Doe (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 11:03 AM

Just watched the fight. I think Brock was goin' for the end to quickly. And as he tried to end it early he got a bit sloppy. Frank Mir is said to have a good gaurd, so I maybe would have tried to throw fists standin' up, and maybe rock him a little, then go down. But I'm no pro. As for the deduction of a point, I think it was a little unfair, especially for a first fight. Maybe the ref did it because of how extreme he was throwin' punches, or maybe. And although it goes against the grain in terms of the rule book, if they allowed it to be done, then it's not just the refs fault.

And what's with the tappin' on Mir's ass? Couldn't Lesnar find a better place?

Posted By: Rick Landis (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 11:07 AM

I think Brock trained more for choke and arm lock defense. Even going into the fight, I expected that those would be the most likely scenarios because of Brock's likelihood to take the fight to the mat. A heel hook/knee bar came out of nowhere and caught Brock completely off guard. He looked great in the beginning but his lack of experience and Mir's superior BJJ got the best of him.

Posted By: HBK (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 11:07 AM

the ufc submitted by stopping Brock.

Posted By: tommy gop (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 11:09 AM

i watched the fight, and i have to say, Lesnar's fight was the most anticipated fight to watch, most exciting to see, he gave the best show, just wen out there, and dominated.. lost maybe. but to a veteran move.. he got his point out there to world.. he can bring it, will bring it.. and in time, he will be a force to be wrecken with.. i cant wait to see his next fight. he should fight tim "the ape" silvia... silvia cant done nothin on his back!

Posted By: wylung (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 11:09 AM

the ufc submitted to Brock when they stopped the assault he unleashed on mir

Posted By: tommy gop (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 11:33 AM

Yes! There is justice in the world. Mir showed just why MMA is what it is - and Big Nog gave us a real HW champ.

Posted By: woody (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 11:48 AM

Brock looked great before he got caught, and that was the most important thing in this fight. Brock stepped in there with a guy who has much more experience than him and looked good until he got caught in a knee bar; no shame in that. I'm glad Nogueira beat Sylvia.

Posted By: Kuch (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 01:26 PM

I think it was Brocks fight if they didn't stop his hammer fists after only -one- backside hit on the head. Something was definitely off there.

Regardless, Brock doesn't come off looking any bit weaker. Just needs to get some more experience and I am sure he will dominate, given he does not suffer any injuries.

Posted By: OhWell22 (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 01:53 PM

Anyone that has any significant knowledge of mma knows that when you utilize "ground and pound" that you inevitably land shots to the back of the head. This occurs because your opponent is squirming and working from the bottom causing constant head movement, and he ends up eating some punishment. This happens in at least 50% of fights that go to the ground. As a matter of fact it happened twice in an undercard bout on the same night as the Lesnar fight, and both times the offender was simply warned. Multiple warnings are standard. Lesnar landed a clearly unintentional back of the head blow on Mir as Mir was working frantically from the bottom, and the ref immediately broke it up, took a point from Lesnar, and re-started them standing. This had to affect Lesnar, who appeared to be very close to finishing this fight, and both fighters looked confused by the ruling.
Later, when Lesnar is again dominating, Mir catches the inexperienced man-monster in a knee-bar (a very very dangerous finishing hold), the ref strikes again. Lesnar taps twice with the ref in perfect position, looks to the ref, then taps THREE more times in plainview before the ref breaks the hold! I can understand if the ref hates Lesnar or pro-wrestlers or whatever the deal is, but letting a flesh and blood man get his damn leg snapped in half is absolute bullshit in my book. The #1 job of the referee is to protect the fighters, and ol' Mazagotti (the ref) was not protecting Lesnar.

And now lets all take a moment to notice that all the people who posted before the show talking about Brock and how bad he was and pro wrestler this and that....aren't posting now.

i hope brock sticks with it he definately did better than any other wreslter would've, i just hope he sticks with it and doesn't end up in the graveyard that is tna

Posted By: mattfu (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 04:36 PM

Did anyone else notice that Mazzagatti actually had to ASK Mir if Brock hit him in the back of the head?? Just another thing that added to the "WTF" refereing job..

Posted By: Wyku (Guest)  on February 03, 2008 at 06:11 PM

I had noticed that Wyku, but I don't know enough about refereeing in MMA to know if that's unusual or not. Still I agree it seems odd that he'd penalise Brock for something he wasn't sure Brock did. Ah well, hopefully Brock does better next time.

If Lesnar can learn submission counters, then he'll be a big time threat.

Okay, I'm not a small child. I don't need anybody explaining the rules of MMA to me. Okay?
I know that Lesnar should have probably got a warning. However, when a guy with the biggest hands in the history of the UFC (that's been proven) hits someone 1-4 times in the back of the head, he might not get the benefit of a warning, because he could have badly hurt Mir with those illegal shots.

Hand size being a factor in taking a point away? That's just hilarious!

Also you can't forgo the rules just because a guy happens to have big hands, DanMan.
