411’s SHOWXC Report 4.05.08

    SHOWXC 4.05.08~!


    -LIVE from the Table Mountain Casino in Friant, CA

    -Mauro Ranallo and Stephen Quadros are our hosts for the evening. They hype the five fights scheduled for the evening:

    * CATCH WEIGHT (147lb) BOUT - Doug Evans (6-2) vs. Bao Quach (12-8-1)
    * MIDDLEWEIGHT BOUT - Matt Lucas (9-0) vs. Giva Santana (10-0)
    * WOMEN'S BOUT (140lb Catch Weight) - Shayna Baszler (10-4) vs. Keiko "Tama Chan" Tamai (16-14)
    * LIGHTWEIGHT BOUT - Fabricio Camoes (9-4) vs. Joe Camacho (13-11-3)
    * LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT BOUT - Jared Hamman (10-0) vs. Po'ai Suganuma (8-1)

    -We get some video interviews from Suganuma and Hamman.

    -Next we get a video package for Doug Evans vs. Bao Quach.

  • 147lb CATCH WEIGHT BOUT - Doug Evans (6-2) vs. Bao Quach (12-8-1):

    ROUND ONE: John Schorle is the official. Evans has UFC experience, but lost both bouts (vs. Mark Bocek and vs. Roger Huerta.) Quach is taking the fight on short notice but did win his last SHOWXC fight. It was to be a featherweight bout, but since Quach took the fight on short notice, they agreed to a catch weight of 147lbs. Quach has eight losses but is coming off of six straight wins. They touch and a leg kick misses for Evans. Quach gets one, Evans shoot sin sloppily and Quach has a guillotine. Evans escapes, Quach misses a leg kick but catches Evans with a jab. Combo and a leg kick by Evans, but Quach recovers and DROPS Evans with a right and he begins to land on shots on the ground the fight is stopped!

    -THE RESULT: Bao Quach via RD1 (0:55) KO

    Stephen Quadros is with Bao Quach. Quadros was impressed. Quach was ready for anything Evans was going to bring. He wasn't worried at all. Quach was angry for his fight, he always is. He's cool now.




    -We get a video package for Matt Lucas vs. Giva Santana.

  • MIDDLEWEIGHT BOUT - Matt Lucas (9-0) vs. Giva Santana (10-0):

    ROUND ONE: Jason Herzog is the official. As they say, somebody's "O" must go. They touch and jabs by Lucas. Cut kick by Santana, Lucas in with a straight left, takedown as well and into the guard of Santana. Santana with an elbow, working to improve position as Lucas does nothing in the guard. He finally gets a right and then postures up and lands a few shots. Santana with another elbow from the bottom. They get warned to work, Santana goes for the arm bar but Lucas postures up again. Santana to a seated position, but Lucas works him back down. Lucas with a few shots, gets a warning for an illegal shot and then they get stood up for lack of work. Lucas rushes Santana against the cage, they clinch and don't do much. Lucas with an overhand left and then a knee by Santana. Lucas gets a leg, Santana escapes and gets a leg kick but is DROPPED with a left by Lucas! Lucas into the guard, Santana works off of the cage with his feet and Santana gets an arm bar from the bottom, Lucas is trapped and Santana collects another arm!

    -THE RESULT: Giva Santana via RD1 (4:49) Submission

    Stephen Quadros is with Giva Santana. Santana says the left hand hurt him, he buckled but when he hit the ground and he got good position. He says Lucas went to the ground and that he where he likes to be. He wishes Lucas the best, thanks God, his friends, sponsors and such. He will go home, learn from his mistakes and work his defense better. He then says Lucas felt "greasy."




    -We get a video package for Shayna Baszler vs. Keiko "Tama Chan" Tama.

  • WOMEN'S BOUT (140lb Catch Weight) - Shayna Baszler (10-4) vs. Keiko "Tama Chan" Tamai (16-14):

    ROUND ONE: John Schorle is the official. Tama in with a flying Superman punch and then tries a takedown, but Baszler has her back already. She starts to land shots, Tama out and they trade. A GREAT SLAM by Baszler. She has her back again, starts landing clean shots to the head of Tama. She looks for a choke, Tama doesn't allow that, ground and pound by Baszler, she has both hooks in and then goes for the choke again. Tama fights to stay out of that, and Baszler gets a NECK CRANK and Tama taps!

    -THE RESULT: Shayna Baszler via RD1 (2:05) Submission

    Stephen Quadros is with Shayna Baszler. She didn't want to be shown up. She feels the Pro Elite Women's division is HERS. She actually works the neck crank in training, and she was bet that she couldn't put that one tonight. She puts over Tama, and she would like to see her come back and fight again. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAY!




    -We get a video package for Fabricio Camoes vs. Joe Camacho.

  • LIGHTWEIGHT (160lb) BOUT - Fabricio Camoes (9-4) vs. Joe Camacho (13-11-3):

    ROUND ONE: Jason Herzog is the official. Camacho has won six fights in a row. They touch and a jab and leg kick by Camacho connect. Camoes in with a knee to the chest, he gets a takedown and into butterfly guard. Camacho with questionable elbows from the bottom, hammer fists by Camoes and then gets side control after an awesome scramble. Into half guard right now, slows it down and Camacho works with rights from the bottom. Camoes with some good shots with the left, he postures up and lands good clean shots and he is into the full guard now. Camoes with great body shots, and now rains down with a lot of rights and lefts as Camacho tries to defend. Herzog stops the fight. The last six or so shots were completely clean and undefended.

    -THE RESULT: Fabricio Camoes via RD1 (3:30) TKO

    Stephen Quadros is with Fabricio Camoes. Camoes says he respects Camacho, he worked hard and he didn't expect a quick stoppage. He thanks a lot of people, and I can barely understand him. Camoes trained hard in the ground and pound game.




    -Mauro and the Fight Professor stretch for some time and break down the main event.

    -We get a video package for Jared Hamman vs. Po'ai Suganuma.

  • LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT BOUT - Jared Hamman (10-0) vs. Po'ai Suganuma (8-1):

    ROUND ONE: John Schorle is the official. They touch and both start throwing right away. Suganuma gets HARD RIGHT followed by a CRAZY FLYING KNEE that drops Hamman and sends him against the cage and that is all! Hamman was down, and looked to be getting up, Suganuma was coming in and it was stopped.

    -THE RESULT: Po'ai Suganuma via RD1 (0:15) TKO

    Stephen Quadros is with Po'ai Suganuma. Suganuma says he knew it could be hard, but he nailed him and that is all. He doesn't like to be pushed and he says he is down for a rematch.

    Hamman is in now. Hamman say he is fine. He'll go back to training, he lost, and he won't make excuses. He will take a rematch if offered. Hamman was classy in defeat.



    -Mauro Ranallo and Stephen Quadros discuss the fight. They say not to blame Suganuma and that there should be a rematch.
