The Ultimate Fighter 7: Team Rampage vs. Team Forrest
Episode 7

Previously: Team Forrest won 4 straight after Matt KILLED Jeremy. Team Rampage won their first fight, giving Rampage control and allowing him to dance.

Opening Video

Quinton plays the air guitar and we're off to the greatest start ever. Quinton picks Gerald to fight Amir. Gerald is a wrestler while Amir is a striker so Quinton likes his teams chances.

At Team Rampage training, we see some explosive takedowns from Gerald. "I….slam the shit out of people. Like seriously." This man rules. Quinton says that Gerald is a Mini Me, a very high compliment. Gerald pounds on Quinton in practice. "Do I owe you money or something?" asks Quinton.

At Team Forrest training, Amir works on his sprawl. Forrest says that Amir doesn't like the fact that Gerald picks people up and slams them. Forrest makes a bet with Amir that if he wins the fight, Forrest will shave half his head. Didn't he shave his head in the first season?

Amir Sadollah (Team Forrest) vs. Gerald Harris (Team Rampage)

Round 1: Quick and easy takedown by Gerald. Good control by Amir from the bottom. Amir kicks Gerald away but can't get up. Gerald throws a number of elbows but Amir blocks them. Amir gets to his feet but Gerald pins him against the cage with a single leg. HUGE~! slam by Gerald. Amir once again gets up but Gerald has a double leg this time. Another big slam by Gerald. Amir kicks Gerald away and goes for a knee but just misses. Gerald grabs a single leg but Amir sprawls out. Gerald works Amir to the fence with a double leg. He keeps him against the fence as the round ends. Round goes to Gerald.

Round 2: Leg kick by Amir to start. Another leg kick followed by a body kick. Gerald moves in with punches and goes for the takedown but Amir sprawls. Gerald gets a double leg against the cage and eventually takes him down. Amir gets back to his feet. Gerald goes for another takedown but Amir sprawls. Amir spins and gets the back of Gerald for a brief moment. Gerald moves out and up to his feet. Gerald shoots and puts Amir against the cage. Amir gets up and gets punches in the clinch. A big knee by Amir knocks Gerald down. Gerald turtles and Amir throws punches until the ref stops it.

Winner – Amir Sadollah by TKO

Amir talks about the fight and you can tell Forrest is his coach. "He shot in and took me down so quick that I couldn't even be upset about it. Hmmm, that was good." Dana put over Amir's heart saying that Amir would get taken down, getting up, and going for. Gerald says that he wasn't out but he couldn't improve his position when the ref asked him. Rampage wants to go to the bar and drink himself out of the depression.

Gerald leaves the octagon and he is PISSED~! He thinks that he let everyone down, mainly his family and son. Quinton tries to calm him down and to learn from it. They embrace.

Forrest picks Cale to fight Patrick. That makes the last fight CB vs. Nick. Forrest says that Cale has no ground skills and he wanted to fight Patrick because Patrick is a kick boxer. Quinton wasn't impressed with Cale during the preliminary fights.

At Team Forrest training, Cale works on his sparring. Forrest says that Cale could win a kick boxing fight with anyone on the show. At Team Rampage training, Patrick works on his sparring. Patrick wants to go out there and swing with Cale. Quinton says that Patrick is under the radar because he lost in the prelims but made the show.

Cale Yarbrough (Team Forrest) vs. Patrick Schultz (Team Rampage)

Round 1: High kick by Cale that gets shoved away. Leg kick by Cale. Jabs by Patrick. Body kick by Cale. They trade jabs. Big right by Patrick that knocks down Cale. Patrick lets him to his feet. Both guys wildly swing and miss. Body punch by Patrick. Two big rights by Patrick. A high kick and a slip by Cale. Cale just moves forward throwing punches and kicks. They trade jabs and hooks. Cale shoots at gets the takedown. Short punches by Cale from the guard. Patrick gets to his feet. Body kick by Cale. Body punch by Patrick. Another takedown by Cale. Short punches and elbows by Cale from the guard. Cale hold him down as the round ends. Round will probably go to Cale.

Round 2: Leg kick by Patrick. Combo by Cale. Big right by Patrick. Knee by Cale. Cale gets another takedown and passes to half guard. Short elbows by Cale. More short punches and elbows by Cale. Cale continues to stay busy with short punches and elbows. Patrick tries to buck him away but Cale stays in half guard. Cale continues to batter Patrick with punches. The round ends with Cale continuing to throw punches. Round and fight to Cale.

Dana says the fight is going to a decision.

Winner – Cale Yarbrough by Majority Decision

Forrest says that Cale said he'll fight a third round and Rampage is all for it. Rampage says Patrick won the first round because he dropped Cale twice. Forrest says he only dropped him once. Patrick tells Forrest to, "Get back to your corner. I can't wait until you fight Rampage." Forrest should punch him in the face. Rampage gets angry and walks off yelling, "I bet my purse that our fight doesn't go to a decision."

End Show

Next Week: Forrest and Rampage engage in a "friendly" rivalry. The final elimination fight.

Show Comments: Another good show this week with two more good fights. The Forrest/Rampage blow up was a little over-hyped as I think Rampage is just more sick of losing than anything. I was upset that Gerald lost as he seemed to have a lot of potential but was just caught with a flash knockout. Cale was clearly losing the stand up battle so he did the smart thing and took down Patrick. Thumbs up for this weeks show.

And next week, Forrest shoots Rampage with a NET GUN! Officially making this the best season ever, because NET GUNS are the greatest thing ever.

I agree that the Forrest/Rampage stuff was overhyped. Dana talks about them becoming Ken/Tito, so I figured we'd have a pull apart brawl or something and instead they don't even say anything to each other. And I can't see Shamrock/Ortiz pulling pranks on each other.
