ROUND ONE: Steve Mazzigatti is the official. Here we go. Leg kicks by Johnson, big right by Burns and they clinch. To the cage they go, knees by Johnson and then by Burns. They work around the cage, more knees traded and an elbow by Johnson. Good jab by Johnson, right by Burns and they are both throwing hard and landing. Body kick by Burns, and a left connect. Leg kicks traded, and Burns gets caught low. Accidental and he takes a moment. Back to action and they both trade, Johnson shoots and slams down Burns. In the guard and Burns lands some shots from the bottom. Shoulder shrugs by Johnson, and then a good clean left lands. Some body shots by Johnson and another good left. More body shots by Johnson, Burns keeps the big shots from landing as Johnson continues to work the body. Johnson with a solid combo as Burns lands short shots from the bottom. They get stood up, high kick avoided by Burns and they both land rights. They clinch as Burns tries to push the action. Good body shots by Burns as the round ends.

SCORECARD: A good competitive round as both men were pretty even on the feet, although Burns was pushing. Johnson got the takedown and some solid work, so I will go 10-9 for Johnson.

ROUND TWO: Round two begins and leg kicks by Burns land. A knee and a great combo by Johnson. Another knee and wild punches, flying knee and Burns is still up! They clinch and Johnson works knees as does Burns. Leg kick and a good combo again by Johnson. Leg kick by Burns, and another. One by Johnson lands and another good combo lands. They get stood up and Burns gets warned for eye poking. Johnson swings wildly and then gets a takedown as the round ends.

SCORECARD: A dominant round for Johnson, how Burns is standing after the opening minute I have no clue. I have it 10-9 for Johnson, and 20-18 overall.

ROUND THREE: Round three begins and Johnson works the leg kicks. Counter by Burns and then an uppercut by Burns. They both try a kick and collide, Johnson gets another takedown and gets control. Burns works some shots from the bottom again, Johnson not doing much and they get stood up. Johnson shoots and gets another takedown. Into guard goes Johnson, he doesn't do much again but does get some shoulder shrugs. Mazzigatti warns them to work, and they get stood up again. Leg kick and a right by Johnson, but Burns KILLS Johnson with a shot and the ref stops it.

Johnson says he got poked in the eye and on the replay we see that urns DID poke him in the eye and then dropped him. We'll get a decision after the commercial break. Burns had been warned for possible eye pokes earlier in the fight.

THE RESULT: Kevin Burns via RD3 (3:35) TKO

Joe Rogan is with Burns. The crowd HATES this, and Burns says it was accidental and he would fight Johnson again. He says he has to throw palm strikes due to breaking his left hand three times.

Joe is with Johnson now. His eye is swelled and he says to give Burns props for a good fight. He didn't even feel the uppercut, but the eye poke hurt like hell. He thanks people and hypes his after party.

  • HEAVYWEIGHT BOUT - Cain Velasquez (3-0) vs. Jake O'Brien (10-1):

North south now, Velasquez back to side control and starts landing solid rights. He just keeps landing, Jake tries to keep moving but Velasquez is landing at will from a crucifix control. More rights by Velasquez, just repeated shots to the face as he keeps control and the fight is stopped!

THE RESULT: Cain Velasquez via RD1 (2:02) TKO

Joe Rogan is with Velasquez. He did what he wanted too and had good coaches. We see the replay of the beating.

-Mike Goldberg interviewed GSP earlier today. He feels that he is better with each fight, and will be even better for his next fight. He says winning in Montreal was great, and losing his first title defense was horrible but he is back on top. He believes in himself and he is ready for his next challenge. As far as John Fitch goes he knows he brings a lot to the table and he will have to be ready for him and will have to use a lot more tools than ever before. The belt means nothing to him, but the memory of winning in Montreal will stay with him forever.

-We get a video package for Hermes Franca vs. Frankie Edgar.

  • LIGHTWEIGHT BOUT - Hermes Franca (19-6) vs. Frankie Edgar (8-1):

ROUND ONE: The official is Yves Lavinge. They touch and here we go. Edgar shoots, gets the takedown and drops down into the guard. Edgar up and up kicks by Franca, back down into the guard and looking for control. Franca has blue hair this evening. Edgar back to his feet, gets a right and then leg kicks. A combo by Edgar, looks for side control as Franca has a mouse under the left eye. More elbows by Edgar as he maintains control from the guard. Franca remains calm as the round ends.

Edgar up and then back in with a body shot and right to the face of Franca. Good lefts by Edgar now, clean and to the face. Elbows by Edgar land, tries to pass but Franca stops that. Body shots by Edgar land and then another good elbow strike. Edgar is staying in close and landing elbows and body shots cleanly. Pops to his feet and then back in to attack Franca. Edgar tries to pass to side control and fails as Franca stops that but not much else. Edgar keeps landing those short, hard elbows with ease. He stands, back in and gets the back of Franca. Good rights by Edgar, Franca tries to roll, does and back into guard. More of the same from Edgar as he controls from the guard. To he feet they go, great combo by Edgar and a high kick that gets checked. Takedown by Edgar as Franca's face is swelling from the elbows that Edgar is landing. More of the same from Edgar, short shots to the face, Franca tries for a triangle and then gets to the feet. Great knees by Edgar and then gets another takedown. Knees by Edgar to the body, Franca to the feet and then Edgar drives him down to the mat once again. Franca keeps trying for an arm bar or triangle, but only gets elbows to the face. Franca sweeps and almost gets a sweet arm bar, but Edgar rolls back to guard and maintains control. Edgar pops to his feet, Franca up and body kicks by Edgar. Great combo by Franca, a knee and then Edgar gets the takedown once again to stop that. Edgar got busted open on the exchange, but it wasn't enough.

SCORECARD: Edgar looked like a master wrestler taking down a novice at will. Franca did his best at the end, but it was way too little and way too late. I have it 30-27 for Edgar.

THE RESULT: Frankie Edgar via Unanimous Decision (30-27 Across the Cards)

Joe Rogan is with Edgar. Edgar says a win over Franca is huge, and he is hurting from the end of the bout. He had his bell rung for sure but is hyped about the win.

-We get another advertisement for UFC 87!

THE RESULT: Brandon Vera via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-27)

Joe Rogan is with Vera. Vera says the fight wasn't exciting, and the cut was tough for him. When he got in there he realized that the cut weakened him. He says Andy was strong and fought hard. He then says to show Rampage some love.

-We get a video package for Anderson Silva vs. James Irvin.

  • LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT BOUT - Anderson Silva (21-4) vs. James Irvin (14-4-1NC):

ROUND ONE: The official is Mario Yamasaki. They touch and bow at the instructions in a great show of respect, and here we go. They come out and circle a bit, leg kick by Silva. Silva is a fucking monster.

Silva is a beast. He could probably hold the Middleweight, LH, and because of lack of talent, Heavyweight titles right now. He is unstoppable.

Knockout of the night however goes to that head kick. Damn.

silva might as well move up to 205 after he beats okami and cote there is no one left to fight besides bisping, quarry, letes and possibly palharres if he gets past henderson

Steve Mazzigatti and his STACHE need to go back to the 70's where there was no MMA.

Seriously, what does it take to stop The Spider? A machinegun? Massive respect for Anderson Silva. Silva-Fedor? Any takers?

Silva is not going to move up to 205. Mainly because he is good friends with Lyoto Machida. But his win was impressive. He KTFO'ed Irvin.

Silva is a beast! 8 knockouts in a row! I'll bet Fedor fans will still weigh Fedor's victory over Timmy better than all of Silva's recent victories.

HE SAID LEAVE YOUR FIGHT OF THE NIGHT AND A SCORE IN THE RATINGS

Anyways I'd give it an 8/10 even though there was a lot fo really quick fights. The head kick was awesome and so was Silva beating down Irvin.

Match of the night goes to Hermes Franca and Frankie Edgar

nobody gona comment on the eye poke of doom? I really hope Johnson can appeal that to be a no contest or something because I find it rather crappy that he now has a loss on his record due to an illegal blow

I don't think the write-up of what happened with the Silva KO does it justice; he KTFO Irvin with ONE PUNCH while holding his leg! The extra shots were just for good measure. ;) If you didn't see, d/l it from somewhere!
