ShowXC Elite Challenger Series:
PEE WEE vs. MEAT TRUCK!

-LIVE from the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana!

-Mauro Ranallo and Stephen Quadros welcome us to the show and run down the card. Does anyone else think Quadros looks like the Joker? You know, the Jack Nicholson variety with the flesh tone makeup? It's just me then, ok…

-It's time to rattle this cage.

  • Lightweight Bout: Lyle "Fancy Pants'' Beerbohm (7-0) vs. Rafaello "Tractor" Oliveira (5-0):

ROUND ONE: John Manley is the official. Here we go. They touch and Oliveira misses a high kick, leg kicks by Lyle and Oliveira shoots, gets the takedown and then Oliveira with good lefts as he gets the side/back of Lyle. Side control against the cage by Oliveira, postures up and lands five rights to Lyle. More rights by Oliveira, gets the back and then transitions into a triangle attempt. Elbows by Oliveira, Lyle escapes the triangle try and into the guard he goes. Kimura try by Oliveira, and then into the guard. Unloads with rights, works for the back once again and to the feet they go. Lyle is cut over the eye as Oliveira lands knee strikes. They separate, body kick by Lyle, shoots to the cage they go and a fireman's carry by Lyle, Oliveira has the arm bar, Lyle rolls and escapes and then gets north south position. To the feet they go, under hooks by Oliveira as they battle against the cage. Lyle looks for a double leg, gets it and is into the guard. Good elbows by Lyle, Oliveira is cut badly now and Lyle to side control. Oliveira is bleeding badly now and Lyle stands, hammer fists, drops down and into north south control as the round ends.

SCORECARD:: Oliveira controlled most of the round, but took damage late as the huge cut was opened up. A very close round, but I have to go with Oliveira as he had control and some very good near submissions.

The doctor checks Oliveira, and the fight has been stopped due to the nasty ass cut he suffered.

THE RESULT: Lyle "Fancy Pants'' Beerbohm via RD1 (5:00) Doctor's Stoppage

Quadros is with Beerbohm. He compliments his opponent, and then his sponsors, trainers and his mom. Beerbohm talks the basics, and says he wants the winner of Diaz vs. Alvarez. He'll beat either one of them.

-We get a video package for Alexander Shlemenko vs. Robert "BUBBA" McDaniel.

  • Middleweight Bout: Alexander Shlemenko (29-5) vs. Robert "BUBBA" McDaniel (12-4):

ROUND ONE: John Manley is the official. They touch and Shlemenko in with a combo, they clinch and Bubba looks for the takedown. Shlemenko held onto the cage, gets a warning and Bubba pulls him down. We get a USA chant, Shlemenko has a kimura as Bubba works the body shots. Half guard by Bubba, Shlemenko lets go of the arm, gets it back and Bubba works body shots. Bubba rolls out, to the feet they go and knees by Bubba. Back to the ground they go and he gets the back, Shlemenko shakes him off and Bubba then pulls him down. Shlemenko back to the feet, but Bubba pulls him right back down. Side control by Bubba, works the knees to the body and then short elbows. Side control and then mount by Bubba. He then gets the back of Shlemenko, hooks in and then transitions to mount. Ground and pound, gets the back once again and he is against the cage, but drops back and works for the rear naked choke. Shlemenko pops out, punches by Bubba but Shlemenko gets to guard and they stands. Bubba shoots, avoids an elbow and then at the bell Shlemenko nails Bubba with flying knee under the heart, not a groin shot as I first thought. Vicious.

SCORECARD:: Bubba controlled the round with great submission tries, I have it 10-9, but Bubba is hurt and may not be able to continue.

It has been called as Bubba is badly hurt and being helped to his feet.

THE RESULT: Alexander Shlemenko via RD2 (0:00) TKO (McDaniel cannot answer the bell)

Quadros is with Shlemenko. Shlemenko says the groundwork was not an issue, he was waiting for his opponent to get tired. Shlemenko thinks he broke his opponents ribs.

Quadros is with Manley, the official. He was not sure if it was a groin shot, and he stopped nothing because the bell rang. He then says Shlemenko backed off and didn't finish due to that.

-Quadros is with Robbie Lawler. They talk the title fight vs. Villasenor on November 8th.

-We get a video package for Anthony Lapsley vs. Mike Stumpf.

-Stumpf missed weight, by 2½ pounds.

-Lapsley is the King of the Cage Welterweight Champion.

  • Welterweight Bout: Anthony Lapsley (13-3-2nc) vs. Mike Stumpf (10-1):

ROUND ONE: Todd Henderson is the official. And here we go, they touch and a great combo by Lapsley, vicious knees to Stumpf against the cage and Stumpf clinches. Stumpf wants the takedown, knees as well and Lapsley pulls Stumpf down, but Stumpf goes right into the guard. Half guard by Stumpf, but then he stands. Drops back in, to the feet and a knee and right by Lapsley. Round house kick lands, but Stumpf with the single leg takedown, with the sweep of the leg. Stumpf works the kimura, but Lapsley gets side control. To half guard, Stumpf hold shim close but Lapsley lands some short elbows. Lapsley postures up, drops in a HUGE elbow strike and then drops into side control. To half guard, left elbow strikes and into the full guard. Stumpf with short shots from the bottom, trying to stay busy. Stumpf now looks for an arm, Lapsley stands and drops down with wild shots and connects. Arm triangle by Lapsley, Stumpf escapes and then works up kicks. Stumpf lands on, but Lapsley dives back in and is landing good shots on the way in. Body shots by Lapsley, and the round ends.

SCORECARD:: Stumpf had the takedowns, but Lapsley controlled the round and not only connected more, but did good damage. I have it 10-9 for Lapsley.

ROUND TWO: Round two begins and Lapsley in with a jab and they clinch. Knees by Stumpf, but Lapsley gets him down. Stumpf almost got his back, but Lapsley get side control and tried for mount, stands, dives in and misses Stumpf as he rolled out of the way. Single leg takedown by Lapsley, Stumpf works for a kimura, lets it go and Lapsley into guard. Elbows by Lapsley, body shots as well and keeps control. Stumpf tries to counter with some short shots, but Lapsley is getting the better of the exchange. More elbows to Stumpf, body shots follow and Stumpf tries to hold him down for a stand up and he gets it. That was a shitty stand up right there. Stumpf misses a body kick, Lapsley gets him down by Stumpf works for the kimura. Stumpf rolls, gets mount now but just lays on him. Lapsley with a great escape, into the guard of Stumpf and the round will end.

SCORECARD:: Lapsley controlled the round again and is easily up 20-18. I am amazed that Stumpf did NOTHING with the mount at the end there.

ROUND THREE: Final round now and they touch, a left and body kick by Lapsley connect. They clinch, knees by Lapsley and he has Stumpf against the cage. Lapsley maintains control and slams Stumpf down. Into the guard, Stumpf wants to hold him close, as his corner instructed, and that isn't going to help him win right now. Elbows by Lapsley, avoids Stumpf's tries at hand control and now the official calls time, don't know why but back to action we go on the ground. Lapsley is working elbows and rights while Stumpf keeps trying to hold him down. They get stood up, bad restart as Lapsley was working. Stumpf misses a flying knee, caught and Lapsley takes him right back down. Lapsley with short body shots from the guard. Stumpf looks for a triangle attempt as Lapsley had him stacked, knees by Lapsley and he is out of trouble. They get stood up again, they both throw wild shots and the round ends.

SCORECARD:: Stumpf needed to be aggressive but wasn't. Lapsley took this easily 30-27.

THE RESULT: Anthony Lapsley via Majority Decision (29-29, 30-27, 30-27)

Quadros is with Anthony Lapsley. He said he did his best and that it was a hard fight. He puts over his opponent, and he says he wanted to pass guard, but it was tough so he did what he had to. Lapsley is up for a title defense or a title fight.

-We get a video package for Mamed "Cannibal" Khalidov vs. Jason Guida.

  • Light Heavyweight Bout: Mamed "Cannibal" Khalidov (17-3-1) vs. Jason Guida (17-17):

ROUND ONE: John Manley is the official. They touch and Guida in with a wild left, they clinch and knees by Guida. Khalidov gets a rolling knee bar, escape by Guida but Khalidov keeps working for a heel hook. Guida works for one, rights by Khalidov and he escapes. Butterfly guard by Guida, and then transitions and gets a double leg takedown. Guida into the guard, Khalidov looks for the arm bar but Guida escapes. He stands, leg kicks by Guida and then Khalidov throws a round house up kick?! Guida into guard, Guida is cut on the top of the head. Body shots by Guida, short elbows by Guida and he stands, up kicks by Khalidov and as Guida tries to dive in he gets kicked to the side. Khalidov throws an illegal elbow, gets warned and they clinch against the cage. Knees by Guida, body shots by Khalidov. Guida takes Khalidov down, elbows connect but Khalidov keeps working. Guida stands, fakes a kick and drops down into side control. Elbows to the body by Guida but Khalidov stays busy as well. A right by Guida lands as the round ends.

SCORECARD:: Khalidov is a wild fighter to watch, a ton of fun. They mainly were on the ground, and while Guida looked to have the dominant position, Khalidov worked harder, had the close arm bar and cut Guida. I have it 10-9 for Khalidov.

ROUND TWO: Round two begins and a leg kick by Guida, but he eats a counter right. Khalidov trips, but is back up. Guida shoots, Khalidov with a knee to escape. Spinning heel kick by Khalidov, leg kicks follow and Guida looks tired already. A combo by Khalidov lands, spinning back fist misses for Khalidov. Guida clinches, but Khalidov with a great combo to break that up. To the ground and Khalidov in the guard. Hammer fist and an overhand right by Khalidov. Guida tries to work elbows, Khalidov stands and drops back into the guard. To the feet they go, Khalidov starts to land solid shots, Guida is rocked and he shoots, but a great sprawl by Khalidov. Khalidov KILLS Guida with an uppercut as he tried to get up. Guida grabs a leg, elbows by Khalidov and then body shots. North south now, to the feet and we get time as Guida lost his mouthpiece. Guida is gassed here and they can't find his mouthpiece, and the crowd hates this. We get a swearing tirade, and now Guida will not take a new one. Manley threatens to DQ Guida. And here we go again. Leg kicks by Khalidov, jab by Guida and then a combo by Khalidov. Jabs by Guida, high kick by Khalidov and then he unloads on Guida against the cage and it is stopped.

Guida is then a complete asshole and SHOVES the referee!

THE RESULT: Mamed "Cannibal" Khalidov via RD2 (4:53) TKO

Quadros is with Khalidov, he has a translator. He says the stoppage was good, and that he broke his right thumb in the first round.

-Mauro and Quadros discuss the main event.

-We get a video package for Dave Herman (11-0) vs. Kerry "Meat Truck" Schall!

  • Heavyweight Bout: Dave "Pee Wee" Herman (11-0) vs. Kerry "Meat Truck" Schall (22-10):

ROUND ONE: John Manley is the official. They come out, Herman with a push kick and then throws some wacky looking kicks that miss. Push kick again by Herman, again and they clinch, knees by Herman and then Schall NAILS Herman with a great right. He follows up with a couple more rights, but then knees by Herman land, Schall is down, hammer fists and then rights and lefts and IT IS ALL OVER! Schall has NO clue where he is right now.

As we see the replay, Herman caught Schall with a low blow (a knee) and then went to the ground and pound. That's unfortunate. We'll say that the officiating was "sub-par" tonight.

THE RESULT: Dave "Pee Wee" Herman via RD1 (1:06) TKO

Quadros is with Herman thanks his sponsors and then says he has not been working Muay Thai. He just worked what he thought was the right thing to do. Herman is asked about the low blow and says he didn't see it. He closes by saying that he wants to fight soon, and doesn't care who it is.

-Mauro and Quadros discuss the low blow, and they question if it had a factor in the decision.

Manley won't be reffing ShowXC again anytime soon. Go back and listen to his conversation with Schall after the stoppage, it was hilarious.
