Possibly the greatest 4 rounds seeing the ever overrated and demanding BJ Penn being humbled, thankyou GSP! Stay in your own fucking division BJ.
Surely Machida is the next in line for a title shot, dominating win over a guy who I rate pretty highly in Thiago.
Posted By: Brad (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 01:03 AM
BJ showed tonight that he should not ever go up in weight. He got his ass kicked. So happy that the overrated BJ got humbled.
Posted By: Guest#3217 (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 01:16 AM
BJ isn't overrated. It's just that as praised as he is, GSP is somehow still underrated. Pretty soon we'll have to invent new words just to describe his awesome.
Posted By: BK (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 01:18 AM
What ever happened to if you tap to strikes your a bitch. Sure sure he didnt actully tap but he sure as fuck gave up.
Posted By: TD (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 01:20 AM
Reminds me of the Randy and Tito fight, but Tito came out in the 5th.
Posted By: Guest#9273 (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 01:21 AM
Wow. Honestly, that was the best performance inside an octagon, EVER.
Sure, maybe some were more flashy, or even more dominating, but GSP was fighting BJ FUCKING PENN! I don't think a lot of people realize how good you have to be to pass BJ's guard at will.
I don't think GSP "dominated" Penn. I think GSP HUMBLED Penn.
Posted By: Samer (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 01:23 AM
And if forgot. OH THE IRONY! BJ QUIT! In his interview, BJ said he'll make GSP quit in the 4th round! HAHA.
If you don't answer the bell, you're a little bitch.
Posted By: Samer (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 01:26 AM
Who is Georges St.Pierre's bitch.....BJ Penn.
Posted By: Guest#2785 (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 01:27 AM
I see Penn losing his title soon.
Posted By: Guest#7919 (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 01:29 AM
GSP is the best fighter in the world.
BJ looked bad everywhere except his takedown defense in round one, that was incredible. It was probably GSP's greatness on the ground, so I'll give him a pass there until he fights Florian. Standing he looked bad. He didn't use his hands well, his footwork didn't look great, and he held his hands to low for a dangerous opponent like GSP.
Lyoto Machida is incredible. I hope he gets a title shot.
Thiago Silva looked bad. I thought he was overhyped by beating guys that were favorable match ups for him, and tonight my hypothesis was proved. He might come out to be a light heavyweight gates keeper if he doesn't approve. Of course I could be overreacting because Machida is going to destroy 90% of his opponents.
Jon Jones was amazing. I expected him to have a big wrestling advantage, but I didn't expect Bonnar to continue to clinch with him to play into Jones' strength.
I thought Karo won the fight, but the last round was extremely close, possibly 10-10. I thought Karo should have just kept going one-two and backing away and doing it again, but I guess going into the clinch with him worked out well in the end.
Diaz vs. Guida was the best fight of the night. I had Diaz winning 29-28, but the rounds were so close I could have seen it going either way. It just depends how you score the rounds, Guida controlled Diaz in the second round with his wrestling, but I gave Diaz the round because of his constant submission attempts.
Overall the show was okay. The last two PPV's I ordered, 94 and 92, all of the guys I wanted to win lost. Nog, Silva, and Griffin lost last time, and BJ and Bonnar lost tonight. If I was emo I'd totally be slitting my wrists about now, but instead I'll go to sleep.
Posted By: Dan Plunkett (Registered) on February 01, 2009 at 01:29 AM
Nice, as TD said... I so wanted BJ to submit to strikes but he did the next best thing : stop the fight between rounds. I love BJ but that'll teach him for all his trash talking.
Can't blame him for quitting though, he was getting his ass kicked big time.
Thanks George for this awesome fight.
Posted By: DrT (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 01:31 AM
Jon Jones used a Tiger Suplex.
Vintage Tazz!!!!!
Posted By: Mitchell Cole (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 01:41 AM
BJ wanted revenge....he got an ass whooping.
Posted By: Guest#8613 (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 01:42 AM
Yup, BJ sure pulled a Tito. Trash talking your opponent to death isn't a strategy. But at least Tito came out for the 5th round against Randy.
This is my third comment, and i'm still out of words to describe what i just saw, that was all kinds of awesome by GSP.
Oh and if anyone doubts which is the best camp in the world, listen to GSP explaining his strategy with Joe Rogan, jesus, he had a SCIENTIFIC gameplan! Hats off to the best P4P fighter in the world.
Good thing all the Fedor/Silva talk will be put to rest... NOT.
Posted By: Samer (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 01:50 AM
I wanna see Gsp against Fedor at 185.
Posted By: Guest#9975 (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 01:51 AM
I thought round 4 was 10-8 for GSP...BJ did nothing except eat punches the entire round.
Posted By: Guest#7293 (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 02:00 AM
I askj Dan Plunkett....shouldn't Nate you knoe...DO SOMETHING to win? Guida owned him, and every time Nate started tog et anything going, Guida turned it right back. Fantastic fight though, don't get me wrong. I'd love to see it again some day.....maybe this time with 5 rounds.
As for BJ and GSP. Man, GSP is amazing. I can't help but wodner though. What would happen if the two fought at 155?
Posted By: Adam S (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 02:06 AM
Its easy to call BJ a bitch on here as he was dominated by the better man and punished for 3 rounds, but he still is an amazing fighter. I dont think BJ realised how good GSP has got since their last fight. GSP is not only the in the top 3 for P4P, he is constantly getting better and if he keeps that up he will be number 1.
Posted By: T (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 02:06 AM
BJ now that GSP proved that your a QUITTER in front of the whole world, you can now go lie down in your bed and go FUCK YOURSELF.
Posted By: TheR (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 02:40 AM
GSP broke his back and fucked his ass.
He has been humbled...
Posted By: iron shiek (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 02:44 AM
I thought Machida gave the most dominating tactical victory in a very long time. He took away everything that made T. Silva good, and ended it decisively. That was nice to see, as fights shouldn't be left up to judges.
GSP vs. Penn lived up to the hype. I can respect both fighters, or at least I did until Penn started talking trash. I say it lived up to the hype; it did if you're a GSP fan, which I am. :) I hate trash talking fighters.
Jon Jones also had a terribly impressive fight. He was gassing bad at the end, but he's got an incredible arsenal at his disposal, and with a bit more training to up his cardio, we may be talking about him in a championship setting very soon, IMO.
Overall, I though it was a stellar PPV. The Parisyian fight was the only (sorta) disappointment. I still don't see how he beat the Korean. I had it the other way, but I guess that's why I'm not a judge.
Posted By: MMArk (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 02:44 AM
They should have called it UFC 94: DECISION. Funny how the guy (Lyoto Machida) everyone thought would go to decision didn't.
Posted By: Mustafa Kalid Kofusicus Mak (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 03:06 AM
BJ wasnt humbled, he was made a joke. How can you rank him in the best P4P anymore at all after that peformance? He proved he's just a lightweight who beats cans/unestablished guys/over the hill guys. Joe Stevenson isnt top 10 quality shit. Watching the fight one could argue GSP took rounds 2/3/4 by 10-8 in my opinion. The only reason BJ didnt look worse is GSP had some respect for him and was holding back, which he should of. BJ is a piece of crap, always has been. He beat Jens Pulver? So? Stevenson? so? Put him in the cage with Aoki, Alvares, or any top 5 lightweight and he'll show he isnt a top P4P fighter. GSP is #2 right now with Fedor ahead and Silva behind.
Posted By: Craig (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 03:08 AM
Both these fighters fucking suck. I expected more of BJ, but that was dumb to try and move a division.
gsp sucks too, ground and pound ftw -.-
Posted By: Guest#4399 (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 03:22 AM
Well tonight aside from Jones winning now of the results surprised me. Althought I wanted Karo to get beat just shows he will be the gate keeper of the 170 top 10 in the ufc. Also BJ learned a good lesson, George improves ever fight at his own weight class.
Posted By: Bigmatt0011 (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 03:23 AM
I was surprised B.J. didn't tell us to go to his website to hear his thoughts. I thought he'd yell, "Kenny Florian, YOU'RE DEAD!" Oh wait, he got raped by GSP. Now B.J. can get into his bed, take his shoes off, and go fuck himself. You talk about a clinic, GSP was masterful and as usual, modest in victory.
Posted By: B.J.'s Humble Pie (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 03:34 AM
Uhh dont qoute me on this but UFC had all the judges giving a 10-8 and I think one judge gave him two rounds at 10-8
Posted By: TD (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 04:33 AM
BJ got no excusesfor this fight. I wonder if he'll be such a cocky prick, coming off the beatdown. KILL THE MASTER KENNY
Posted By: icon zeke (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 04:49 AM
Just wanted to throw it out there...is it worse to get knocked out or quit between rounds?
I have been an MMA fan for many years but I am not a 'mark' for either fighter. That said, what we saw from St.Pierre was incredible. Complete domination of a supremely talented fighter who should not use weight as an excuse. Georges is sick...accept it.
Posted By: Dane (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 04:57 AM
I'm not sure if GSP is the best pound for pound fighter in the world but he sure as hell looked like it tonight. Lets just hope that both GSP and the Spider can walk through their next challengers and set up a superfight to close out '09.
Posted By: Dave P (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 05:03 AM
Random thoughts: All Guida ever seems to do is bear hug his opponent, kinda boring really. Parisyan should never have won that decision, is MMA going the way of boxing with "fixed" results? Machida was outstanding. GSP dominated BJ Penn, though I didn't think it was a hugely entertaining fight. Overall, I think the last two UFC events have been a bit lacklustre, ok but not great. Personally I think the last Affliction event was a lot better than this.
Posted By: DH (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 06:55 AM
damn good to see nate diaz lose! i wish dana would put lyoto as the next to fight rashad (fuck rampage he hasnt even won 3 in a row) i like fights where both are unbeaten , i really want to see rashad lose and id like lyoto to get it done

Just Me or did it get really hard to watch from a neautrals perspective i like both fighters but didnt have a favourite to watch the punishment BJ took, i love violent fight but he was murdered GSP gets prison in the streets for that
Posted By: Scolsey (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 10:02 AM
Is GSP dominating BJ a one shot deal?
Posted By: R Van D (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 11:09 AM
That last fight was hard to watch, I was seriously hoping Penn wasn't going to come back out.
I'm canadian and a HUGE GSP fan but by the end it looked like Penn was just squirming around like a some hostage getting beaten up by their kidnapper.

5 split decisions on this card! that has got to be a record for a ufc show eh?

BJ is better than he fought last night. And gsp is a dueche that needs to be humbled hopefully by anderson silva. None the less that wasnt the rematch that lived to the hype due to bj penns crappy performance.
Posted By: Joe mama (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 04:44 PM
I don't know what I was thinking last night when I said I thought Diaz won round 2. I watched it again this morning and Guida clearly won the round and the fight. That is all.
Posted By: Dan Plunkett (Registered) on February 01, 2009 at 07:46 PM
If only Guida could have made Diaz tap to the full nelson, it would have been one of the greatest moments in the history of the UFC. He'll need to take lessons from Chris Masters if he wants to use the move again and stop people escaping it.
Posted By: G (Guest) on February 01, 2009 at 07:46 PM
Joe Mamma learn to SPELL PROPERLY before bashing out the best and most humble fighter in the world NOT named FEDOR.....
GSP totally owned, pwned, murdered , the giant douche bag known as BJ Penn and that's my friend was tremendous to watch and cum at.
EPIC WIN FOR GEORGES ST PIERRE !!!!!

I wouldn't last more than about 10 seconds with that little bad motherfucker. That said, I'm glad the little bitch lost because of all the shit he talked. I mean, really..."He's gonna think I'm God." I'd have some sympathy for him if he behaved with more class. If he doesn't know how, he could look at Georges St. Pierre.

Are you fucking retarded? Penn isn't better than that, GPS is just on a whole other level.
And it takes a special type of douche to even think that GSP is anything less than pure class.
Dumbass.

BJ Penn didn't even look like he showed up. GSP methodically outclassed him in every way.

Good grief you have to love some these losers on here. BJ lost to one of the top guys and has been dominant over the lightweight divsion since he went down to that weight class. He got beat by the better man tonight after barely losing to him the last time. Could some of you just grow up and stop whining about trash talking? Its pretty sad honestly.

Fuck you, shitball. The trash talking is why most people are glad that pumpkin-headed runt lost. If BlowJob Penn had shut his fucking mouth and just fought, most people would refer to him as an honorable man who lost to the better fighter of the night. As it is, people see him as a loudmouthed bitch who got punked by a superior athlete with tremendous talent, without the propensity for sticking his own foot in his mouth. You're the one who needs to grow up...grown, superior men don't need to talk shit. You're obviously a faggoty little bitch who sucks balls.

GSP only 'barely' won the first fight because Penn poked him in the eye, causing heavy bleeding and impaired vision. Without that, he punked BJ in the first fight, too.

I gotta agree with the statement about the idiots saying Penn sucks because he lost to GSP seriously go back learn something more about the sport and what the fighters doing in training and until then STFU you idiots saying Penn sucks. GSP is an entirely different person now after his loss to Serra he found and different camp and a great camp at that Greg Jackson's camp. Also let me add GSP went to a sport psychologist and worked with a new strenght trainer which has worked out well for him he's now much stronger than he used to be, I don't have time to explain the whole thing but its covered in the current issue of Muscle & Fitness. Penn had what was called a gameplan he wasn't following a prewritten script and well that gameplan didn't work I got two words rubber match (why not?). So once again shut the fuck up and go learn something those of you that say "Penn sucks" cause he lost to GSP and no thats not stating an opinion btw its slamming a fighter.

I love how everyone's flipping out about how BJ was talking trash. It's called promotion. If he didn't say anything, the fight would have gotten much less publicity, and overall would have been worse for MMA. Even GSP talked trash to Serra before their fight. You to hype a fight, and BJ knows how to do that.

At last some one who has a realistic understanding about MMA and fighting in general. Like I said before the majority of the people who are passing negative comments, sit in front of the tv with the remote in one hand and their dick in the other. I guess they have NEVER laced up a pair of gloves or fought in their lives. Get off the sofa, join a gym, and then get in the ring / cage / octagon. Then your comment will have some validity. Until then fuck off. Pussys!!

It can't be a rubber match, because St. Pierre won the first two. A rubber match is a tiebreaker match.
