Flores, who was in his first 12-round bout had a five fight winning streak. He was a native of Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico and he lived with his family in Houston, Texas. At 24 years of age, he had a record of 19-3 with 6 KOs before being knocked out by Seeger.
"It was terrible news to hear because Benjamin was a good prospect," added Mauricio Sulaiman, executive secretary of the WBC. "The fight was very close and in the 8th round, he got hurt. We do however have a life insurance policy for $50 million dollars that will go shortly to his family."
