The "Ring Magazine" lineal Cruiserweight Champion to headline a card on July 11th at the Prudential Center.
On July 11th "The Main Event Boxing Series" will bring world championship boxing to Newark's Prudential Center when IBF Cruiserweight Champion Tomasz "Goral" Adamek (37-1, 25 KO's) of Jersey City puts his title on the line against Hackensack cruiserweight Bobby "The Celtic Warrior" Gunn (21-3, 18 KO's).
In his previous two appearances at "The Rock," Adamek thrilled his fans with non-stop action packed performances. In December of 2008, Adamek took the IBF Cruiserweight title and earned recognition as the linear "Ring Magazine" Cruiserweight Titlist, when he knocked down Philadelphia's Steve Cunningham (21-2, 11 KO's) to gain an upset victory that was cited for "Fight of the Year" honors. Two months later the native of Zywiec, Poland successfully defended his title against Jonathan Banks (20-1, 14 KO's) with a blistering eighth round knockout.
"I love performing in front of my fans at Prudential Center in Newark," Adamek said. "I can't wait to get back there in July and give them another good show."
Also slated to appear on the card are a quartet of unbeaten standouts, including Paterson Welterweight Henry Crawford, (21-0); Morganville, N.J.'s promising middleweight prospect Denis "The Momma's Boy" Douglin, (2-0, 2 KO's) and undefeated Polish standouts Piotor Wilczewski, (22-0, super middleweight) and 13-0 cruiserweight Mateusz Masternak.
Tickets, priced at $38, $53, $78, $103 (floor), and $253 (ringside), can be purchased at Prudential Center Box Office, by calling TicketMaster at 800-745-3000 or Prucenter.com. First fight 7:00pm.
A Fan Festival will be held outside Prudential Center at Entry Plaza, Edison and Mulberry Streets prior to doors opening, time TBA. Food, beverages and music.
Gunn in another title fight? What a waste of everyone's time and money. Gunn is an inbred Gypsy retard who has lied and conned his whole life story. This fight will surely be the end of this black eye of boxing that is the Gunn story. YUCK!
