Erik Morales Plans a Fall Return

'El Terrible' looking for a September or October fight.

In a telephone conversation with Record, Erik Morales said that his planned return to the ring for August is now being pushed back to either late September or early October.

"I had some issues with a few opponents who didn't want to come to Tijuana but I'll continue with my quest to return to the ring at junior welterweight and then look for a fourth world title at lightweight at the end of this year or early next year," expressed Morales.

Morales, who turns 33 in September looks to return possibly the week after Juan Manuel Marquez tangles with Floyd Mayweather Jr. or during the first two weeks of October. Erik will begin training in August in the mountains of Temoaya in Mexico State where he will remain before he returns to the ring - his first fight since losing a close decision to David Diaz in 2007.
