Jhonny Gonzalez Hires Nacho Beristain
Posted by Salvador Rodriguez on 07.09.2009

Jhonny looking for a change

A major change at the right time can make a big difference and that's exactly what Jhonny Gonzalez is trying to do after his loss to Toshiaki Nishioka. That change will come in the form of Nacho Beristain who as of today will be in charge of the corner.

"I want to learn more and I feel that a trainer with his experience can make that happen," said Gonzalez (40-7, 34 KOs). "Tomorrow I will meet with him and I hope to continue my path towards another championship fight."

The 27 year old said he would look to end his contract with Golden Boy Promotions as he is unhappy with the deal he has in place, but will remain tied to Promociones del Pueblo which is headed by Osvaldo and Reginald Kuchle.

Very good move. This guy is one of boxing's underrated fighters. Lets see if he can do something after the change.
