Roman "Rocky" Martinez seeks out Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero for a unification bout.
Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (25-1-1, 17 KO's), smiled when he heard that undefeated WBO super-featherweight champ, Roman "Rocky" Martinez (22-0-1, 13 KO's), called him out for a unification bout.
"Bring it," said Guerrero, "If Martinez gets past his next opponent, I would love to fight him. He is a worthy champion that says he never refuses to fight anyone, anywhere, well if that is the case, than lets do this! A unification bout between Martinez and me is great for our sport and the fans deserve these types of fights."
Newly dubbed IBF Jr. lightweight champion, "The Ghost" taps into his Mexican-American culture and feels that this will be an exciting fight for two cultures to come together for a great night of boxing. Guerrero went on to say that Martinez prides himself of his undefeated title but, "we'll see if he can handle the heat that's going to be coming from my fists. I believe in myself and the great team around me. If he steps in the ring with me, he'll find out real quick that he's in a battle. Martinez is a good fighter, but I believe God has blessed me with the more superior attributes. I hope this fight happens."
Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero recently defeated former two-time world champion Malcolm Klassen, where he threw 1,200 punches - almost breaking the record! If this bout comes to fruition, perhaps "Rocky" is in for a real fright!
