Julaton Wins IBA Super Bantamweight Title

"The Hurricane" dethrones Jeffries in San Jose, CA

On Saturday, Sep. 12, Ana "Hurricane" Julaton become a champion by taking a majority decision win over Kelsey Jeffries in front of a wild crowd at the HP Pavilion in the main event of Fight Night at the Tank.

Jeffries pulled out all the stops to try and frustrate Julaton with illegal blows, headbutts and late punches but it wasn't enough to fend off the focused and determined Julaton.

"Hurricane" did her best to use her jab and work to the body on the inside as she landed the cleaner blows.

Late in the fight, it became more of a slugfest though Jeffries continued to be the agressor. Still, Julaton fought hard and didn't let her opponent get the better of her.

In the end, Julaton did enough to come away with the victory with scores of 96-94, 95-95 and 98-92.
