Evander Holyfield is Going to Fight On
Posted by A. Shakoor on 09.24.2009

According to AP reports, former multi-time heavyweight champion of the world, Evander Holyfield, is partnering with Global NES-Georgia to spread the message about fighting global warming. He plans to build a 40-acre solar energy farm on his suburban Atlanta estate. He hopes to do other green minded projects around the city of Atlanta.

Holyfield, 47, also plans to keep fighting until he achieves his goal of becoming, once again, the heavyweight champion of the world. Evander stated, "I will be the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world...all my life, I've had doubters," Holyfield said. "I don't start something I can't finish... eventually, I will be heavyweight champ of the world."

Props for him fighting. But he's getting pretty old and with all those head shots I don't think he's going to last long with the younger guys.

Pretty old? Fighters that make it to their late 30's in boxing are considered ANCIENT. He'll never be the grand mummy like Foreman, but I guess he's determined to try.

I'm sure many bet against David with only a sling and a rock. Evander has the heart of a Champion and he deserves it. FYI...he has a secret weapon, also. :-)

If Holyfield can last more than 4 rounds he might have a shot, although I am not sure his body will ever get into that shape again. Stamina is usually a problem with cut fighters, the better fighters (especially at heavier weights) having a little extra weight on them. Extra muscle adds strength but uses up a lot of oxygen.

Holyfields only hope is to get Valuev/Haye's belt because he can't beat either Klitschko. Unified, impossible. Champ, maybe. Evander has given us so much as fight fans he deserves to do whatever he wants with his career.
