Chris John Suffering from Dengue Fever
Posted by Patrick Cassidy on 10.26.2009

It seems these days it's just as dangerous outside of the ring for fighters as it is inside of it. The latest casualty to illness is Featherweight titlist Chris John who is currently suffering from the Dengue Fever, a virus that is typically spread by mosquitos.

According to ESPN, the fighter will eventually be fine. "It is not life or training threatening and [John] will return to training shortly," claimed Sampson Lewkowicz, an adviser for John.

He stressed that John will be out of the hospital soon and ready to return to the ring. "John is looking forward to making his 13th title defense sometime around May 2010," Lewkowicz said.

This is the same illness that put Nonito in the hospital too. PI not the healthiest place to be right now.

Let's hope John makes a speedy recovery. Luckily Donaire recouped just fine.
