"Halloween Thrilla" Undercard Revealed
Posted by Ryan Bates on 10.27.2009

Getting a Don King Promotions press release is much like receiving a book from a friend who absolutely LOVES it and swears you will too. Much of the time, about a quarter of the way through reading the release, you wonder what you got yourself into.

However, after slogging through all the "absotivitilies" and the "splendificourusocities" and the random "The King And I" musical lyrics (I swear it was in there), Don King presented his "Halloween Thrilla" undercard.

The main undercard bout will be a WBC heavyweight elimination bout between #3-ranked Ray "The Rainman" Austin (27-4-4, 17 KOs) and former top-ranked heavyweight DaVarryl "Touch of Sleep" Williamson (26-5, 22 KOs). The USNBC heavyweight belt will also be on the line, for what it's worth (not much).

Also featured on the card: undefeated welterweight "King" James de la Rosa (19-0, 12 KOs) faces Lenin "Volcano" Arroyo (20-10-1, 4 KOs), in what stands to be the total mismatch of the night. Nelson Linares (18-0-1, 11 KOs) put his zero on the line against former contender Archak "Shark Attack" TerMeliksetian (16-7, 13 KOs) in super welterweight action. Bermane "B-Ware" Stivern (17-1-1, 16 KOs) will face Jerry "Big Daddy" Butler (8-6-1, 8 KOs), in a fight which will likely end in a knockout (probably with Butler on the receiving end). And Cuban defector Angelo "La Cobra" Santana (6-0, 4 KOs) will face a lightweight opponent.

The internet-based pay-per-view will be aired live on www.DonKingTV.com for the low, low price of $5.99, live from Treasure Island Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV. The co-main events, Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko versus Yonnhy Perez and Antonio DeMarco versus Jose Alfaro, will be broadcast on Showtime.
