Kessler Finishing His Camp in California

"The Viking Warrior" heads west to finalize his preperations for Andre Ward.



WBA super middleweight champ Mikkel Kessler will be moving his training camp from Denmark to Sacramento, CA beginning next week. Kessler is only a few weeks away from his title defense against Andre Ward in Oakland which caps off the first round of the Super Six World Boxing Classic.

Via his website, Kessler updated everyone on his recent training saying that he has "been sparring with a rather tough guy, Sergej, from Lithuania."

Kessler also commented on his previous fight saying that he feels lucky it ended so quick – knocking out Gusmyl Perdomo in four rounds in that he was able to recuperate much quicker.

"As a result of my physical condition I am now able to focus on the tactical dimensions and how to get one step ahead of my young American opponent. Fighting Ward, who has been called the next big American fighter, is a great challenge for me, no doubt about that. Having said that, I am used to tough challenges, which makes me confident thinking about the fight. At the end of the day I have fought more than twice the fights that Ward has."

The two will meet on November 21 at Oracle Arena on Showtime.
