David Haye Not Thrilled With Hotel
Posted by Joe Roche on 11.03.2009

David Haye hasn't exactly been welcomed with open arms in Germany. The UK fighter who is set for his Nov. 7th showdown with WBA world heavyweight champion Nicolai Valuev wrote in his online diary that: "When I reached German soil I was guided towards a disgusting hotel, with a dingy room. After a quick call or two, we managed to depart the rancid lair with our legs and arms still intact. We actually ended up at a lovely five-star hotel, though we had to pay for the five-star privilege. Still, if it saves us from the guaranteed Black Death of the first place, it will be well worth the price."

Haye doesn't believe that the hotel room issue was an accident."These are the sort of mind games and tactics you have to put up with when fighting abroad. They rattle some fighters, while others refuse to ever box on foreign territory. The foreign promoters are always looking to give their guy any possible advantage and they'll look to screw you around left, right and centre if they think it's going to unsettle you."

Team Sauerland, who put David Haye up in the Hilton Hotel in Nuremburg seemed slightly amused by Haye's antics as Chris Meyer, GM of Team Sauerland stated "If he calls the Hilton a ‘rancid lair', it tells you something about his state of mind. Now you know why neither Nikolai nor anybody else at Team Sauerland has taken Haye´s insults and provocations seriously. He clearly talks too much and has an interesting way of seeing things. With just five days between now and the fight, he might be getting nervous and is starting to lose his sleep."

Looks like Haye is preparing his excuses already.

It's unlike me but I'm considering paying 20 smackers to see Haye knocked on his ass.

well hes a jackass for accepting the fight in the first place the only way hell win that fight is if he knocks him out which isnt gana happen..These guys(Valuev and Klitchkos) mostley fight over there cuz there favorites and if they go to a decision theyll have a better chance of winning thats why the heavyweight division is the piece of crap that it is..The boxing comission shouldnt let these guys choose were they wana fight and make them fight more frequently not once a year like these guys do
