Court Grants Gatti's Widow Money From Estate

Amanda Rodrigues, the widow of Arturo Gatti, was allowed $37,500 by Superior Court Justice Paul Chaput in Montreal, Quebec yesterday. The money will help Ms. Rodrigues with legal fees and child care. She was seeking a total amount of $140,000. The legal battle continues, however, in Montreal and New Jersey. Gatti's widow and his family are fighting over his estate; estimated at around $5.6 million dollars.

A major dispute surrounds the validity of two wills. A will signed in 2007 leaves the Gatti estate to his mother. Gatti's widow wants that will declared invalid and wants a will signed by Gatti this past June--which left the estate to her--upheld as binding. The next court date is scheduled for November 17th.
