Manfredo Jr. Wins in Baltimore
Posted by Joe Roche on 11.06.2009

"The Pride of Providence" Peter Manfredo Jr. (33-6, 18 KO's) scored his second consecutive knockout victory since being stopped by Sakio Biko in October last night as part of a charity event hosted by former Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Jonathon Ogden. Manfredo, who weighed in at 166 pounds for the fight defeated New Orleans journeyman Ronald Weaver (29-19, 22 KO's) who has now lost five straight fights and hasn't had a victory since 2002. Manfredo made quick work of Weaver scoring a 1st round TKO in his debut performance for Chet Koerner's TKO Promotions. The win is important for Manfredo who anticipates moving back down to the 160 pound middleweight division where he is considered a top challenger for a world championship. There were rumors that Manfredo Jr. would be the next opponent for Kelly Pavlik before Pavlik agreed to a bout with Paul Williams (a bout that is now off).
