144? I'm more convinced than ever Pacman will lose, for all of the reasons I've stated the past 2 weeks, plus decreased conditioning. Can't tell me 2lbs don't matter, cus if they don't Cotto should have weighed 146 or 147. Right? Manny should have been 141-142 tops. Speed is the only chance he had of winning, and he's compromised that advantage just a tad.

145 catchweight.

And going into a fight a full weightclass lower than your opponent is a stupid idea. Pac should still be faster, and based off the Hatton fight should carry his power to this weight.

Not saying he'll win, but this was about the right strategy. They'll probably both be around 148-150 come fight time.

I understand the catchweight.lol. I just don't think Manny should be weighing 144. As the naturally smaller guy, he should have kept it to 142 or lower to maintain his quickness...like he was 142 v. Oscar. He'll need that speed more against Cotto than he did against old, slow, Oscar. I'm expecting folks to say "hey Shakoor, what's 2 pounds" If 2 pounds were irrelevant, there wouldn't be a catchweight. I think 2 pounds matter for a guy like Manny when it comes to speed and reflexes.

If Cotto's smart, and he is, he'll go into the ring closer 153, or more. I'm sure he's learned from Oscar's stupidity, and actually utilize his size advantage.
