Z Gorres Collapses After Decision Win
Posted by Ramon Aranda on 11.13.2009
A win turns sour as Gorres is rushed away.
Despite dominating his fight moments ago, Z Gorres suffered a knockdown in the 10th and final round of his bout at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Though he made it to his feet and finished the fight - winning by unanimous decision in the process, Gorres collapsed only minutes later and was rushed away on a stretcher to a local hospital.
No details have been given just yet but we'll keep you posted on this story.
UPDATE: 11/13/09, 9:59pm -- 411mania.com has just confirmed that Z Gorres has been admitted to a Las Vegas-area hotel and undergoing surgery to relieve swelling on the brain (subdural hematoma), which was the same affliction which put Oscar Diaz into a coma in 2008. Z is in critical condition. 411mania boxing sends our thoughts and sympathies to Z and his family.
boxing is a barbaric sport... boxing fans - especially you, ramon - should be ashamed!

Boxing should be banned. It's embarassing seeing these people late in their careers barely able to form a sentence.

If you think you have a legitimate point, feel free to write an article and allow the boxing staff to review it. If you're just flaming the site, please go screw yourselves, hard.

To Kent Baker and Guest#8714: Someone is three inches away from dying and all you care about is insulting a sport and flaming the writers and its fans. Fuck you both, and get your damn priorities straight.

He's conscious and stable now, apparently. Great to hear.
