Dark Undercard Results for "Firepower"

It's not even that dark, really... most cable/satellite providers are showing the preliminary fights.

In preliminary action from the MGM Grand Garden Arena:

Abner Cotto defeats Lupe Guzman on points in a six-round bout. Guzman drops down to 3-5, 2 KOs, while Miguel's lightweight cousin moves up to 5-0, 3 KOs.

In what really could be called two three-round fights, Pacquiao protoge Richie Mepranum wins a split decision over Ernie Marquez. Mepranum handled Marquez well in the first three rounds, but Marquez came back strong in the last half. The two clashed heads causing a cut in the sixth round, but a knockdown in the early rounds swung it for Mepranum. Marquez is now 9-6-2 (3 KOs) while Mepranum is 15-2-1 (3 KOs).

Matt Korobov easily scored a clean sweep over James Winchester, improving in every fight. Korobov swept the cards, 60-54 on all three. Korobov is now 8-0, 6 KOs; Winchester now 10-3, 3 KOs.

Eden Sonsona dominated Eilon Kedem in a ruthless upstairs-downstairs pattern. Joe Cortez mercifully stops the fight early in the second round of the bantamweight bout. Sonsona is now 14-3, 4 KOs; Kedem is 9-2-4, 6 KOs.
