Ward And Kessler Are Ready For Some Football

The good news: Both Andre Ward & Mikkel Kessler are prepared for their November 21 bout. The bad news: Both men suffered through an Oakland Raiders game on Sunday.
Andre Ward and Mikkel Kessler spent their Sunday before fight night watching football. Live. At the same arena.
Seemingly unknown to both parties, both combatants for this Saturday's upcoming Super Six bout were in Oakland, taking in a Raiders game. Ward was amongst friends, mingling with hometown fans, while Kessler was still trying to grasp the game itself.
"It was the first time I watched an NFL game live," said the super middleweight. "I really enjoyed it. The fans were very passionate and enthusiastic – I was really impressed. To us Europeans,American Football is a complex sport because we are not so much into the rules, but as soon as you get the idea, it is really entertaining."
What both Kessler and Ward do understand is boxing. They also understand that not only is Saturday's bout at the Oracle Arena important for their round one Super Six tournament rankings, but to establish their public identity within the tournament.
Speaking of identity, Oakland maintained theirs, as the Raiders fell to the Kansas City Chiefs, 16-10. This now makes Oakland 2-7 in regular season play.
Both fighters will hold a Monday mid-day media workout, beginning at 11:30am at King's Gym in Oakland. Showtime will bring you the Super Six action live at 10pm Eastern & Pacific on Saturday, November 21.
