Improvement From Gorres

Medical staff and team members report that Z Gorres gave the thumbs-up sign earlier Monday.

Good news from University Medical Center in Las Vegas -- both team members and medical staff report improvement in Z Gorres, who collapsed in the ring after his win over Luis Melendez on Friday night. According to his camp, Gorres opened one eye and gave a thumbs-up sign as team members were speaking to him in his hospital room Monday. A nurse confirmed that he did the same thing earlier that day.

Gorres was sent to UMC in Las Vegas after collapsing in the ring as his gloves were being taken off. He was admitted for emergency brain surgery to relieve swelling on the brain.
