The new WBA junior middleweight titlist has plenty to celebrate.
This upcoming Thursday, new WBA junior middleweight titlist Yuri Foreman will be honored during a Top Rank press function in New York.
On the undercard of Pacquiao-Cotto, Foreman upset former Daniel Santos to relieve him of the belt via unanimous decision.
"It's more of a celebration than a press conference," said Bob Arum of Top Rank. "All of us at Top Rank are excited for Yuri and what he accomplished in the ring on Saturday night."
"I'm going see my rabbi," Foreman said in the ring Saturday night. He is the first Orthodox Jew to win a world championship in nearly 70 years.
Murray Wilson, co-manager of Foreman, said he was "awestruck" while watching Foreman put pressure and heat on Santos to capture the world title.
"This is what we all dreamed about for such a long time," Wilson said.
