Demetrius Andrade Gives Back

On Saturday, November 21st 2007 U.S. Amateur champion and 2008 U.S. Olympic boxer Demetrius Andrade (8-0, 6 KO's) will give back to his community by hosting the inaugural "Knock Out Hunger" turkey drive at the West End Community Center in downtown Providence, Rhode Island. "This is an opportunity for me to help out and give back to a community that has given me nothing but love and support throughout my entire career," stated the undefeated jr. middleweight prospect Andrade who is co- promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and Banner Promotions. "Work together, to make life better, that's my slogan. I am working hard to make this first annual charity event a successful one, so these people in need in the Providence community can have a happy holiday, just like they deserve," stated Andrade.

During these difficult economic times the West End Community Center has been assisting record numbers of people and are asking for any assistance that you can provide. The Center is accepting food and/or monetary donations to help fulfill their goal. The contributions can be dropped off at the Center or sent by mail to 109 Bucklin Street, Providence, RI, 02907, ATTN: Demetrius Andrade's Knock Out Hunger. Checks can be made payable to West End Communicty Center, Inc. Office hours are from 9 AM to 5PM Monday through Friday.
