Manny Agrees to Terms With Floyd Jr.
Posted by Joe Roche on 12.04.2009
Announcement could come as early as next week!
According to 24 Oras, which I imagine is some type of Filipino news organization Manny Pacquiao confirmed himself that he had agreed to meet Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the ring. It appears that word came after a meeting between Pacquiao and Arum which was precipitated by Mayweather Jr. agreeing to terms to fight Pacquiao on March 13, 2010. The minor details still need to be worked out but it appears that the major obstacles have been agreed upon.
I remain skeptical as there are many hurdles left to clear including weight, location and the all important purse split -- but apparently they've both agreed that they are boxers, and at some point they could potentially box.
I'm surprised this is gonna happen quickly. This fight needs to happen as soon as possible.

I think RA's radio thing really got to Floyd, this whole thing moved really quickly after that. It looks like Mayweather is really motivated now too...a truly motivated Mayweather is absolutely sick. I can't wait for this fight.
I have to give PBF his due, he is stepping up to the plate now, no matter what happens in this fight it will shut up a lot of detractors (including me).

24 Oras = 24 Hours, and it's a news programme. GMA news is pretty credible, in any case.
I thought Arum & Mayweather's reps had agreed on a 50/50 split?
Great news, in any case!

so where does this rank in terms of biggest fights ever? i think top 10 for sure. mayweather was considered P4P b4 he retired, paquiao is now. top 3? does this top ali-frazier? at the time they fought frazier was not as highly regarded as these two now in their prime.
regardless ... CANNOT FUCKING WAIT!!!!!!

I'll believe it when I see it. These are the type of fights that could ressurect boxing, but unfortunately these guys like Mayweather somehow think that being a great boxer entitles you to being paid 9 digit figures per fight. I'd fight either one of these guys for $500 haha! and lose terribly!

Yo NATE go to youtube man and watch your beloved Sugar Shane Mosley and see what he had to say about a fight with Mayweather about 4 years ago and 7 years ago...everytime Larry Merchant would ask him about a fight with Mayweather he would say i am gonna take a vacation and see what happens....He was the 1 ducking Mayweather...He just wants to fight Money or PacMan to get money thats it...1 final big pay day...He was always ducking Mayweather not the other way around...So get ur facts straight.

ima fan of him but you gotta look at the facts, both of them have called each other out at one point in time and both of them backed down at one point in time , Floyd wont fight him now because of all the roids

WoW your wrong too
Shane did duck Floyd but floyd ducked him too , I mean come on Shane got in his face after FLOYDS fight and called him out and Floyd was just uhhhh uhhh rambliling floyd wont fight him now because of all the roids and also Shane is not bringing any kind of floyd money whatsoever
and Money Mayweather aint about fighting HES ABOUT THAT MONEY you really cant blame the guy or hate him its his true skill and he has clearly stated he does not care about being a legend being a legend doesnt pay the bills gotta love him
