Junior welterweight champ and WBO welterweight titlist Manny Pacquiao is set to throw a birthday party on December 17 in General Santos and has invited recent victim and Top Rank stablemate Miguel Cotto to the festivities.

While on a trip to the Philippines the other day, Pacquiao, who turns 31, spoke about the respect and admiration he has for Cotto and that it would be an honor to have him and his family join him for the party.

In other related news, Bob Arum also revealed that at the turn of the new year, he will begin speaking to Team Cotto about a return to the ring which could very well take place in June at Yankee Stadium.

Pac does this for most of his opponents. Erik Morales, Juan Marquez, & David Diaz have attended his birthday parties in the past.

Nice gesture.

This is a pretty classy move, and something that he does often for his opponents. Morales even got to shoot a beer commercial in the Philippines with Manny.

Juan Marquez was not invited. He came to Manila just to have a quick rematch with Pacquiao.

John must be an adoptive son of Mayweathers as he talks like Floyd Sr.

Marquez and Morales have never attended Pacquiao's birthday party, true, Marquez went to philippines, but to watch a fight and chase Pacquiao for a rematch, Morales went to Philippines for vacation and to do a commercial with Manny. Only Diaz and Valero attended Pacquiao's Bday party.

I hope it's a trap and he just beats him up again at his birthday party and lets some little Filipino finish off Cotto permanently.
