Mayweather-Pacquiao Is Off

Both sides walk away from mediation…
Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports is reporting that mediation to keep the Mayweather-Pacquiao superfight together has failed, and that both sides have walked away once a solution could not be reached.
As of now, Pacquiao is planning to fight Yuri Foreman, who is the World Boxing Association super welterweight champion, on either March 13th or 20th. Promoter Bob Arum has stated that he wants to hold the fight in Las Vegas, but also says he will negotiate with Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones about holding it in Cowboys Stadium.
As for Mayweather, it looks as if he will look for a fight with former super lightweight champion Paulie Malignaggi. That fight would also take place in March.
Yeah why have the fight people want to see when you can book your guys against cans. Yeah MMA frittered away Brock vs. Fedor with dumber bullshit but at least that sport has more than one dream match left, and it's not like Mayweather stands a chance against Pacquaio anyway.

Good for Floyd, shouldn't lower himself to fighting such an overrated performance enhancement user anyways. Oh and yes, Pacquiao undoubtedly is on PEDs if he is this afraid about testing. Superstition my ass.

If there was a test for COWARDS, Gayweather will only need a breathalyzer to test positive
Posted By: Gayweather (Guest) on January 07, 2010 at 12:13 AM
This is disgusting and disgraceful. It's exactly why boxing's popularity is so fragile. In no other sport can people just outright refuse to give fans what they want on such a regular basis. Sure, Brock/Fedor likely won't happen soon, but its only because Fedor's not under UFC contract. Dana White doesn't let bullshit like this happen. Fighters fight. Plain and simple. Mayweather and Pacquiao ain't fighters, they're whiny, bitch-made celebrities.

This should prove to people that Pacman is juiced up, look at the lenght that he is willing to go to to avoid the test. Whenever someone gets that defensive over anything 9/10 times they're guilty. Remember Roger Clemens and his planned lawsuit for defamation??? Come to find out he WAS guilty. Mark Mcguire said he never used, he's still waiting for his Hall of Fame Votes...

The Truth, you're an idiot! Are you a wannabe leetch that actually believes in the shit that Floyd says? The Maywether camps plan of hyping their part went too far and now that's they'll be paying for it. I hope this fight happens so Pacman a Humble soul can beat the shit out of that Punk!
Posted By: Giants (Guest) on January 07, 2010 at 12:23 AM
Point: Why is Manny scared to take blood tests?
Counterpoint: Has Mayweather asked any other one of his opponents to do this?
I knew having a superfight would be too good to be true.
Posted By: sandmanfanus (Guest) on January 07, 2010 at 12:36 AM
I will first say that both of these guys are to blame for this fight falling apart. But the Mediation struck a deal contingent on if the fighters would sign off on it. Pacquiao agreed, Floyd refused. The biggest losers are the fans. The next big loser out of this is Golden Boy Promotions because not only do they not get to co-promote the biggest grossing fight in history, they end up with a big lawsuit on their hands. Now we gotta settle with these two dumbasses fighting tomato cans in March.
Posted By: Walter (Guest) on January 07, 2010 at 01:57 AM
None of Floyd's other opponents were under suspicion and Manny made the first outrageous request which Floyd accepted, 10 million dollars he'll pay to him for every pound he came in overweight.
Posted By: WilliamMorgan (Guest) on January 07, 2010 at 01:58 AM
This is why people are saying boxing is dying. This fight was a chance to revitalize the sport and print insane amounts of money for both sides, and they somehow managed to fuck it up. This is a serious blow for boxing and the reputations of both fighters.

Best option for the fan is to not buy any more fights with either of these guys until they step in the ring with each other. If the grosses for both suddenly plummet, negotiations would probably re-start fairly quickly. Them fighting anyone else but each other at this junction is a waste of the fans' time and money and a waste of the talents of the two best of their generation.

Manny agrees to do a blood test now. And to do a test 24 days before the fight and one more immediately after the fight. Yet Floyd rejects that?
It's ridiculous to agree that you're going be drawing blood at random all the way up to the day before the fight.
Floyd wants to keep his record perfect while attempting to make manny look dirty. Looks like he accomplished both as long as idiots like "the truth" believe someone as "honorable" as mayweather.

Hold it there buddy... The difference between Pacquiao and Mcguire and Clemens is a little something called evidence. The baseball players had trainers with names like McNamee who had connections or a record of distributing PEDs.
There's no evidence on manny. No failed tests, no connections with dirty trainers. Just accusations from a couple of Mayweathers who want random testing to ruin Pacquiao's name.
Mayweather is a jealous coward.

PacMan trynna hide sometimes
Floyd would still own his roided ass though.

The Truth and Boxing are talking asinine drivel. Both sides in this are looking pretty bad here, but Mayweather looks far, far worse. This could have been so different had Mayweather simply said, "We both know we're clean, but there are always going to be doubters. Let's each take a test at the same meeting before and after the fight, and when they both come up negative, nobody will be in any doubt as to who the better man is." In that situation, Pacquaio would have been very wise to accept.
Instead, Mayweather Snr says "Pacquaio is a cheater, he didn't get to where he is on his own merit, and if he doesn't take a test that proves it." And Floyd Jnr didn't disagree. I don't blame Manny for telling them where to go. To suggest that this 'proves' Pacquaio is on something when all the actual evidence suggests otherwise just shows what a pair of ignorant Mayweather fanboys these two trolls really are.

Yes, Truth. Pacman is on drugs. Ibuprofen is a drug. So are cold medications.
And Mayweather is a world-class athlete. I'm not debating that. Got a lot of respect for him, but he's just dodging Pacquiao and is using a baseless rumor just to convince himself that he's the best. Truth is, he's afraid that he's finally met someone who could actually take him down.
Superstitious? You bet.
I've seen many athletes who have 'em. As a doctor, I've taken CARE of athletes who have these strange beliefs about how they should be taken care of.
Pacquiao is afraid of getting blood extracted from him because he thinks it'll weaken him. Ridiculous, of course, but the man's a superstitious guy. Even Kobe has his superstitions. Even Olympic athletes.
Mayweather? Yep. He's afraid of Pacquiao. He's even afraid of facing Cotto for that matter. That's not superstition. That's being wise. He knows he's gonna be knocked out. And Pacquiao would go out negative for steroids. I respect Mayweather's phobia. I just realized he's just not man enough to face Pacquiao. He's not man enough to prove he's that good. What a waste!

I dont care you you like, this is some crap. Any REAL boxing fan would protest both of these fighters next fights. Honestly people, if they dont give us what we want, lets not give them what they want...our money.
This is some crap. To the REAL fans of boxing pass this on. Do not watch Floyd's or Manny's next fight. Dont watch one of thier fights until they get in the ring with each other. Real talk.

As for the "big" lawsuit. Pac is suing for 75,000. Whats is more interesting is why isnt Paulie included. He alluded to Pac taking roids too. Yet that isnt the problem.
BTW...please stop callin pac humble. You know nothing of this mans life...except what the boob tube shows.
Posted By: just me (Guest) on January 07, 2010 at 07:33 AM
They both suck and so does their "sport"
Posted By: God (Guest) on January 07, 2010 at 07:35 AM
I love how lame you Pacman fans are...OMG MAYWEATHER IS JEALOUS HE'S SO GAY...your fighter is the one who needs a heads up on when to take a drug test so he can cycle off roids. Pacman is the silent little white man puppet.
Hate it all you want, but Floyd Mayweather is the best fighter in the world and even on steroids, your little mullet having hero doesn't add up.

Floyd wanted NO PART of Manny at any time. Who is Floyd to request anything like this? He is NOT this all time draw he thinks he is...as a matter of fact Manny's last 2 fights drew more PPV buys than Floyds did. So who is Floyd to make any request like this?
Furthermore Floyd didn't seem all that troubled by any other opponent, now all of a sudden it's an issue? You know why it's an issue? because its a fight he could lose easily...so we are going to say we want the fight but make a crazy demand we know the other guy wont accept then blame him for it.
Yeah right on Floyd.
Manny accepted Blood testing, so Floyd didn't take the fight because Manny wouldn't give blood the day of the fight? Are you kidding me? Floyd, who cares about money more than anything (except maybe the 0 on his record), wont take 20+ million because of that?
I Don't buy it, the guy is straight up scared and doesn't want the fight because for the first time he sees a guy who has a very good chance to beat him.

What the fuck is with all the Mayweather nuthuggers? Manny agreed to 3 blood and urine tests before the fight, and one right after. By the industry's standards, that's more than enough to reveal if somebody was doping or not. Mayweather wanted random, unconventional, and unlimited testing which is very intrusive and very unnecessary. I think most of the blame for this fight not happening rests on Mayweather making outrageous demands, and it wouldn't be a stretch to say that he was just making those demands to find a way out of the fight.

Yeah Randy vs. Coleman is a big dream match. Can't wait to see that one. Give me a break. You MMA fans crack me up. What super fights does MMA have that are actually going to happen? Fedor vs. Lesner sure as hell isn't so please enlighten me.

Here's the truth about Mayweather vs. Paciquo. Mayweather wants to keep his recorded padded. Paciquo has finished the last 3 guys in dominating performances. Side note it took Mayweather decisions, where Paciquo can KO and retire them. So yeah Mayweather is truely being an unholy bitch and won't fight him no matter what.

Pacquiao haters! common use your brain sometimes. If you don't know how to use it just smash your head against the wall. There were scientists invited during the mediation. The scientists confirmed that 24 days cut off date for testing should be safe and dela hoya, schaefer were conviced. Floyd sticks to his stand and refused to make counteroffer. Now again, use your brain and figure out who should be blame. Common no brainers! This is a negotiation and a party cannot just insist to the other party to agree with him. There should be offers and counter offers until an acceptable agreement is reached.

Dean you stupid prick theres a few mma fights that would be huge if they were done gsp vs anderson is one and i dont count out brock vs fedor and maybe in a few years if bobby lashley keeps going like he is he could fight brock in a big fight! Maybe gsp vs lyoto machida and they meet at middleweight
Posted By: Fuck floyd! (Guest) on January 07, 2010 at 02:41 PM
Arum owes it to the public to give the fans the next biggest fight possible, and sacrifice his own pockets, by pitting Pacquiao against Paul Williams. He already sacrificed Cotto, and was ready sacrifice either Williams or Kelly Pavlik in a match up. Williams is a welter/middleweight that Floyd ducked when he was active, and makes a compelling challenge for Pac. If Pac is going to go for his 8th title make him do it against the Punisher.

Okay...I am a FLOYD MAYWEATHER fan to the end...I LOVE PACQUAIO n what he means to the sport...I will not defend either 1 in this issue...They both screwed this up but hopefully for the reason I believe they did so..I will get to that at the end. 1st I am gonna say the main reason why Floyd wants the bood test is bcus his father stupid allegations...As for why ask for a blood test from Pac n not any1 else...He was a flyweight came all the way to welterweight n still holds all that power in not more..Its kinda hard to believe he did that naturally...the accusations that Sr made just added to Jr's thoughts and we have this problem...With that said...Heres my belief....we all fell for this March 13th date and the rush of this fight...The magnitude of this fight just drew us in.....TRUST and BELIEVE this fight will HAPPEN in 2010...It will probably be In May (yes I know Pac is trying to be a politician) (he lost badly last time)..September or November...Thise are the 3 Biggest months for monster MEGA FIGHTS to happen....Trust by the end of this year we will have this fight and all these rules they are both trying to apply on each other will be followed and there will be NO MORE problems.

Yeah I sure am a prick for telling the truth. and how close id GSP vs. Silva from happening. I'd love to see it, but don't think they will fight any time soom. GSP vs. Machida even less so. Why can't you see that MMA has fallen a bit. That's what happens when you put on two PPVs a month. Just ask boxing.
