Super Six World Boxing Classic tournament leader Arthur Abraham has just left Germany and is on his way to the warmer confines of Palm Springs, as he prepares to take on Andre Dirrell on March 6 in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
"I am thrilled to return to America," a jovial Abraham said this morning. "If you want to become a true superstar, you have to impress on both sides of the ocean. My KO victory over Edison Miranda in July 2008 was a good start. The Super Six tournament will give me maximum exposure in the US and I will continue where I left it when I take on Dirrell in four weeks."
Abraham (31-0, 25 KOs) will continue his camp alongside Marco Huck (27-1, 20 KOs), who is also trained by Ulli Wegner. Huck himself has a March date in Berlin.
"I want to prepare Arthur and Marco for their big fights," Wegner said. "We look forward to some nice weather in Palm Springs but our stay there will be far from relaxing for the two of them. We will work very hard."
