Edwin Valero Update

Some time off to heal and a move up in weight.
After his TKO victory over Antonio DeMarco last Saturday, in which he suffered a terrible gash on the right side of his forehead, WBC lightweight titlist Edwin Valero (27-0, 27 KOs) will take some time off to recover.
Given that he'll need some time to heal, the WBC will give him sufficient time to recuperate before deciding on a mandatory challenger, assuming he plans on defending his title. Valero has also confirmed with the organization that he plans on campaigning at junior welterweight in the near future.
Timothy Bradley has already been added to the mix as a potential opponent by promoter Gary Shaw who plans to talk to Valero's promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank about a meeting between the two.
Valero would fuck Bradley up. Valero's power and durability are both insane. Bradley's been hurt before by Kendall Holt. Valero would push Bradley to places he hasn't been before

That's a tad presumptuous, I'd put money that Bradley would bet he favorite coming into that fight. Bradley has heart and much greater quality of opposition than Valero. You're giving Valero too much credit. The man has a lot to work on especially how he keeps his hands so low during fights. All he needs is someone with power to match him to take his chin and knock Valero off the hype train.

In no way would Bradley be a walk for Valero. Bradley is not a big puncher, but he's got some sting to his hands. His compact flurries could spell technical trouble, ala Casamayor v. Frietas, for Valero, who can get wide with his punches.
