The unified champion at Junior Featherweight is set to make his return to the ring since his destructive bout against Steve Molitor, on April 24th on ShoBox: The Next Generation.
For the past few years the tall and powerful Celestino Caballero has put forth an impressive campaign in the junior featherweight division. This campaign has included a 12 fight winning streak as well as a destructive dismantling of former champion Steve Molitor last fall to unify the WBA and IBF junior featherweight titles.
Caballero will look to continue this streak as he takes on mandatory challenger Jeffery Mathebula on April 24th on World Championship edition of ShoBox: The Next Generation. Mathebula, who has a win over former champion Daniel "Ponce" De Leon, will look to become the second reigning world champion from the talent rich country of South Africa. To do so he will need to have the fight of his life as Caballero is recognized as one of the world's best. Many expected his previous fight with Molitor to be a competitive matchup in Molitor's hometown. What it turned out to be was a dismantling of the champion by the powerful Caballero.
The fight which will originate from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL is expected earn the winner of the fight a major fight down the road with one of the many fighters in this talent laden division.
