The latest on Modern Warfare 3 DLC, Microsoft SmartGlass, and Skyrim's Dawnguard in this week's Living LIVE!
Welcome everyone to another issue of the Living LIVE News Report, and as always, I'm your host for the evening, Trace Aber.
Microsoft Updates iPhone App
Microsoft has updated their "My Xbox Live" app to allow for control of the system through your phone. This coincides with their larger plan of Smartglass, announced last week at E3. In addition to showing off spotlight videos, sending and receiving messages and connecting with your friends, you can now use quickplay as well.
All you have to do is open the app, go to the quickplay menu, and it'll show the last eight games or apps you loaded on your Xbox. The Xbox still has to be on, mind you, and you won't be able to control actual games. You can navigate apps with a series of virtual buttons on the touchscreen, though you can't use a keyboard when searching. Still, it's pretty cool and just an early preview of what we can expect in the future as Microsoft continues streamlining its products.
Modern Warfare 3 DLC to Contain MW2 Maps?
According to a YouTube video, a couple of familiar names showed up briefly in the private game listing of maps in the uber-popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. One would reasonably assume that the maps, called Terminal and Shipbreaker, would show up in the this month's DLC drop.
The Shipbreaker map turns up as "Boardwalker," so the final name is not confirmed. As shown in the video, trying to play either map leads to Lookout. Even stranger, the maps disappeared on the lists after exiting the game. I'm sure we'll hear an official announcement soon.

Random News and Notes
-Microsoft announced that they would change their focus and not taking part in either Gamescom or the Tokyo Games Show. They will instead focus on "smaller, more localized promotions and experiences for press, partners, retailers and customers around the world."
-Though I think they're a few months too later, Microsoft and Bethesda has released Xbox Live avatar costumes that takes advantage of the infamous "arrow in the knee" meme from Skyrim. For only 240MP your avatar can end his career as an adventurer again and again!
-Speaking of Skyrim, all of the Dawnguard beta invites have been sent out. Bethesda say that only one half percent of applicants were accepted, so don't feel bad if you didn't get it. I didn't. :(
-Some hardcore Halo fans may be to happy to know that teabagging will return in Halo 4. They're not going to call it that, obviously, but will instead go by the much friendly (though equally strange) "victory crouch." You can avoid watching your face get humiliated by simply respawning however, so the humiliation is not mandatory.
