Hello and welcome to this week's column, the TOP 5 Super hero games.

5. X-men 2 Clone Wars (Mega Drive) –
You pick from 6 X-men and Magneto and go up against the Phalanx. Great graphics and a game that is great to play. This spent a lot of time in my Megadrive.
4. Hulk Ultimate Destruction (Xbox)
Forget the great story the fantastic graphics and the fact that if you see it you can destroy it. You can go street surfing on a bus. It's guaranteed to raise a smile every time you play this game.
3. Spiderman Maximum Carnage (Megadrive)
Never mind Ultimate Spider-man this was the first game where you get to play as both Venom and spider-man. It is a kick ass side scrolling beat em up. And it actually followed the comics pretty closely which meant huge numbers of guest stars. A great comic book game.
2. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (dreamcast)
This game is awesome. Any game where you get to beat the crap out of Dan with the Hulk is automatically a great game. This also looks fantastic, it moves like lightening and with dozens of characters and unlockables this game will last you forever.
1. X-men Arcade
One of the few games that should have gotten a home conversion and never did. Get you and three friends together and its one of the best games ever. A truly wonderful game and something that should be put on Xbox Live Arcade just so more people get to play it. If you see it in an arcade anywhere stop what you're doing and go have a go. You will love it.
Honourable mentions.
Spider-man (Megadrive/Mega CD) – A great game and one of the best Mega CD games.
X-men Legends 2 (Xbox) – I must have played this game over and over until I'd gotten all the characters to max level and found all the secret bits. One of the best action RGP's on the system.

5 - Superman 64(Not because I liked it.)
How bad was this game? Horrible. That's why it's on the list. This game has pretty much become (in)famous for its sheer HORRIBLENESS. Ask anyone about Superman 64 and they will cringe at the sheer name. The game might not have been good, but it is definitely one of the top just for popularity
4 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (ARC) - I am sure anyone born in the late eighties knows of this fad. I and bet you they know of dumping 5 bucks of quarters into the machine with three people you didn't even KNOW just to beat it. This game is one of those games that has a since of comradely only see in the battlefield.
3 - The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction - What do you get when you take GTA style sandbox and Hulk? Lots of fun. Screw driving cars, I'll just pick one up and throw it at the cops. Puny humans.
2 - Marvel vs. Capcom(ARC) - Not sure if it'll count, but it was one of the best 2D fights ever, and it featured Super Heroes! That's good enough for me.
1 - X-men (ARC) - Hands down. Best Ever. Remember the Comradely with TMNT? Imagine that with like two more people. One of them always angry that they got stuck with Colossus. That's the only time you'd spend more money on someone else than on yourself.

5. X Men vs. Street Fighter (Saturn)
The first step towards Marvel vs. Capcom 2...
4. TMNT: The Arcade Game (Arcade)
3. X Men: The Arcade Game (Arcade)
Side scrolling 4 players games kick ass, add some awesome storyline and some awesome character variety... Equals awesome game!
2. Maximum Carnage (SNES)
You could use Spiderman or Vemon, plus a variety of cameos, real spidey powers and an awesome storyline make up for some repetitive game play...
1. Marvel vs. Capcom 2: Age of Heroes (DC)
I cannot emphasise how damn good this game it, totally kick ass! Storm vs. Cable? Hulk vs. Spiderman? The only thing which would be better is if DC went against Marvel.... Man I love this game, over the top action and totally impossible to master!

Honourable Mention
Captain America and the Avengers (SNES)
5. X-Men Legends II (PS2)
An Action RPG where you could play with four friends online or on your own box. It was a sequel that had a better storyline , Fun gameplay, and a lot of different X-Men characters. Your whole team could level up as you went through the game and there were many moves to learn. Just flat-out some good wholesome fun for everyone.
4. Maximum Carnage (SNES)
what can I say they let you use Spiderman and Venom in the game. The story led through the nice beat-em up gameplay that consisted of punching, kicking, shooting webs, and slinging. I mean there wasn't a whole lot variety but for its time it was cool.
3. TMNT IV: Turtles in Time (SNES)
Playing with a friend or alone you went through some like 10 level story through time. For some reason I always had fun with this game because I played it on hard and it presented a small challenge. You basically had like three moves in the whole game. However, what sets it apart is the sheer number of baddies and Ninja Turtle memorable bosses that were in this thing. In the end, many people may not remember this game, but I always enjoyed it.
2. X-Men: Arcade Game (Arcade)
most superhero games back in the day consisted of beat-em ups. So the best thing to do was go to the arcade and play the games that looked better and were a whole lot of fun. The thing I remember the most about this game besides the cool story was that you could play with four different people. The game had such fun gameplay that it kept you putting quarters in there until you ransacked your parents of all their money. When you had four people playing that's when the game was a real blast. I don't know if I've ever told my parents this but I think I spent a lot of their quarters on other kids just so we could keep the team intact. This is also the one game I think you could say Jubilee was better than Colossus. Nightcrawler #1.
1. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (Dreamcast)- I love this game too much. I've never had more fun playing a super hero game than I have with this one. Even the damn special moves were easy to do, but the game was hard to master because anyone could beat you at the thing. This is a complete classic that deserves to be played by everyone. I think between me and Joyeux we've put out a campaign for this game. Let me just say if you play this in the arcade or at home, you won't be disappointed.

5. Ultimate Spider-Man
Spider-Man these days has finally gotten some good games worth playing. Out of these new-gen games, I'd say that Ultimate Spider-Man is likely the better of the bunch, because it's based on the popular Ultimate universe and to get to play as Venom.
4. Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
This game goes to show that when you take a license game seriously, then it will turn out to be one of the most critically acclaimed superhero games. This game is good because it does one important right: Hulk smashes, Hulk crushes, and Hulk doesn't turn into puny Banner for one or two stealth missions.
3. TMNT 4: Turtles in Time
I loved the ninja turtles, and I'd still see myself playing this game as a throwback to the days where beat-'em-ups were still good arcade games. Not only can you beat up the enemies, you can grab and smash them left and right to hurt other enemies, or toss them up right into your screen. Good times.
2. Marvel vs. Capcom 2
Maybe it's not a super hero type game per se, but it does feature plenty of them in this crossover fighting game. This game is the 4th and last version in the Marvel vs. Capcom crossovers, and it goes out with a bang by putting in 56 or so characters, 3 on 3 fighting, and crazy super move combinations. Sometimes I beg for a Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
1. X-Men Legends
any game that allows you to make a dream team of anybody is great in my book. With combining skills and good multiplayer, the X-men Legends games are one of the best super hero type games to come out. I can't wait to see Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.

5. X-Men Legends 2
besides the great gameplay and incredible number of characters available, there is one thing that makes this game a top 5: Deadpool, Iron Man, Magneto, and Juggernaut. On the same team. NO. FURTHUR. QUESTIONS.
4. Marvel vs. Capcom
an easy to play yet fairly deep fighter. Nice selection of superheroes and Capcom classics, and with only a few exceptions that I will not directly name as Hulk and Wolverine, gameplay was also fairly well balanced. The frantic pace sets a perfect backdrop for a dream battle that an entire generation has been anticipating for years; War Machine vs. Captain Commando. I was anticipating it, at least.
3. Spider Man: Separation Anxiety
This title spent quite a while sitting in my Genesis. Mostly because this game was on a level of difficulty with Ninja Gaiden 2. You got to choose either Spidey or Venom, and each had unique moves, and special attacks for both were uniformly stylish.
2. TMNT: The Arcade Game
The range of emotions presented by this game was breathtaking. Imagine it. Joy as you fall into a manhole and see a witty one liner splayed across your character. Pride as you and your newfound arcade buddies take down the level 4 boss. Rage as the Raph player takes the pizza. Sorrow as the guy on the end runs out of quarters and goes to play Street Fighter 2. IT was truly an unforgettable experience.
1. AQUAMAN
This is, hands down, one of THE best games I have EVER played. The gameplay was smooth as buttah, and the disc was packed to the top with style, substance, and everything in between. Play it and you'll find yourself awestruck during every one of Aquaman's special attacks. I've seen nothing to compare to the title's graphic power, either. And really, is there anyone as cool as Aquaman is? Didn't think so. All in all, Aquaman is an unmatched game that has yet to be matched by any game match.
That's right you read it. AQUAMAN in a top 5 'best' column. Bet you didn't think of that one did ya.
Well as per usual if you have any comments or if you think we're wrong then let us know.
